Take it off I noticed no side effects from taking mine off!!! I think it's supposed to act as a vibration dampner but made f'all difference to my car!!!
-

I can vouch for Brentacre John did an excellent quote for me on a modified engine going from 160bhp upto 280bhp all in it came out to £880. I'm 24 with 2 yrs ncb and he was by far the cheapest. I cant remember the number off hand but they always have an ad in the back of PVW mag so worth flicking through there just to get the number!

Oakley If price isn't an issue go to the stealers and order a B021 906 265E that is the original part number for the lambda sensor ( 02 sensor) a dead lambda sensor will definately cause fuel consumption oproblems as that is what tells the ecu how much fuel to feed the cylinders with. Just like anything with age they wear out if VAG COM says it's dead it probably is LOL

One pipe comes off the metal coolant pipe that goes round the side of the bl,ock and joins the water pump to the heater matrix and the other pipe comes from the hose from the water pump to the bottom of the flange that bolts to the front of the head. Bpth can be changed in about 1 hour jim but the pipes are quite dear at £40 for the one that goes to the head flange IIRC and the other one being about £30, this is just from memory, when I can get the latest pricelist for etka to work I will be able to tell ya the full cost. You will still have the hoses there steve and you just have to pipe tem together so if there is a leak there due to a split it will still leak :(

I was going to say it could be the lambda its located at the bottom of the downpipe about 12" back from the back of the subframe easy enough to get to but can be a ba*tard to undo it's a 24mm spanner job iirc

They're cheeky feckers I taxed the golf on the 1st of april for 12 months £165  then five months later they send me a v11 saying that my tax had run out I phoned the DVLA ( what a joke that is!!) it's all pre recorded messages and took 20 mins to actually speak with a human ( if you can call them that!!!) they said send the tax disc along with a note to them and they would get it changed on the system so sent them a copy and have heard nothing since that was in August!!!. Then it came the time to tax the C as it had been sorn'd for the last 11 months, so taxed it for 12 months again and then 2 weeks later I get another V11 saying that my tax had expired?????????????? Great fecking system they've got these days I ve never had a problem like this before. I ve just ignored the V11 if they send out a £80 fine I will hit the roof!!!! Its bad enough having to pay £165 twice in one year for the sh@t roads we get from our money yet alone getting these effing reminders when we've already paid it's a joke!!!

Here's my list get the 1.9 x flow engine in, with new bearing shells, pistons, lightened/ balanced flywheel, clutch, red top injectors, front mount cooler, charger rebuild, re mapped chip polish a few bits up here and there fit the mesh in the bumper get it back into the bodyshop just to finish off all the niggly problems with the bodywork sort the wiring out so that everything works again as it should do ( sparky will come in there as I hate wiring LOL) fit the 3 jl audio subs and amps into a custom leather enclosure get the roof lining/ sun visors retrimmed tint the rear screen and drivers door glass again hmmm thats all I can think of for the moment but that will keep me more than occupied for the next few months :D

G werks have a heavy involment with sns and have all the equipment to setup the chip, they do them day in day out so should really be your first port of call and as steve says you'll be looking at about £150 in total but it'll probably pay for itself over the next year with the fuel savings you'll be making :D Dont know if john uses sns chips think he still uses jeff ex amd guru but that will cost in excess of £400 for a fully remapped chip but I could be wrong best give both of them a ring and weigh up your options!!!
-
RAGE Backbox??? LOL never even heard of them but sounds to me like boy racer el cheapo special :D Mighty clever exhaust fitter as well not plumbing in the lambda, what did he do disconnect it and binned it??? LOL

I actually like it the deep dish on the back are badd ass best car with the GTO kit I ve seen wouldn't suit nugget yellow though so no chance of that kit ever making it's way onto my car :)
-
Jabba chip!! That would be why then they are notrious for runing your car extremely richI fitted a sns stg 5 chip in G60Jets car while I was out in spain and not only did it improve performance but he also got better fuel economy. My advise is to change the chip and get a decent one I ran a jabba chip for a while but changed it for an sns and the difference is very noticable ( for the better of course :D 8) ) While your down in sussex pop into G Werks it's only round the corner from JMR and they will sort ya little problem out for ya!!!
-
I think if you fit a solenoid door pop kit you also have to have a manual way of getting in the car like a button for instance like the tvr's have!
-
Is it tuned with a chip or anything??? CO pot might needa small adjustment or might be fault with lambda sounds like it's running rich to me is the tailpipe sooted up black at all? Should get 250+ miles on a full tank even in a tuned state
-
Awesome Hmmm maybe something to think about next paint job 8)

I ve also had a rebuild done by both companies I had the Jabba rebuild done 3 yrs ago and got fobbed off with a story that my charger waas knackered and had to be replaced, which wasn't the case at all as in fact the supposed new reconed charger that I got back was the same one as it went in with unfortunately I only realised this quite a few months later and they just didn't want to know. The rebuild they had done was pushing out 12psi on the boost gauge stg4 spec. Then after 2 yrs I decided to get it rebuilt by darren and once it was taken out to the extreme :D it was then pushing 17psi out with a slight boost leak from one of the intercooler pipes so was more than happy with the level of service I got from darren and the boys at pitstop they make my G go faster every time I get some new kit off them 8)
