Bit strange this one before I had got to the end of the sentance I would have said it was the blue coolant sender that was faulty, as when that goes generally the car is a b@tch to start but if your not getting anything then the only thing I can thing of is the ignition switch.. When it doesn't want to turn over try disconnecting the spade terminal on the starter motor solenoid and connect it to a multimeter to see if you are getting any power to it when you turn the ignition switch to crank the engine over if you get no power to it I would say it was the ignition switch, but why it would only do it it when the car is warm god only knows!!! but then again it is a corrado LOL they are made to try us :D

Have to press the clutch right in, and it still crunches...
Banana Man replied to DEL VR6's topic in Archive
Bleed the fluid and make sure you have no airlocks, check for leaks around the slave cylinder and master cylinder if it is still giving you grief then the clutch has probably had it!!! Its not that bad'er job really I would hazzard a guess that a proper garage that knows wehat they are doing can change the clutch and replace the oil in 3 hours or so and a clutch from the stealers is £111 retail or £70 trade thats exchange price as they will take the old unit back it's quite cheap really so all in you should be looking at no more than £250 for the job IMHO -
Sounds like the classic low oil pressure warning to me!!! does the oil light lash on the dash??? my golf only used to do it on sharp right handers and giving it some gas!!! If it is this I would replace the oil pump quickly as low oil preessure aint good !!!get an oil pressure gauge it is a good investment just to make sure of it but I would put my money on that being the oil pump on it's way out!!!

control module perhaps or is there a relay for the leccy windows I cant fire up the bentley manual at the mo so cant check in there any ideas?
-
there isn't any power at all at the switches I ve tested all the wires in the switches and no power is present but there is a black and a a red wire into the motor and the red wire has power to it but if you connect the multimeter to the black and the red there isn't power but if you connet the multimeter to ground on the chassis and red wire there is power to it!! I am a little confuse I hate electrics and dont get on with them at all LOL

anyone????

my 8v golf has over 220k on it on the same engine and gearbox dunno what the exact milage is as the odometer stopped working on it over a year ago
-
My windows packed up the other day I ve got the door card off and have checked the power to the motor thats fine but there isn't any power to the switches and they dont light up when the lights are on. I ve checked the fuse above the fuse box thats alll ok and the mirrors and sunroof are working which makes me think it might not be the the control module in the rear quarter panel as they probably would've packed up at the same time I would have thought, also the central locking works a s well Anyone got any ideas iirc there isn't a seperate relay in the fuse panel or is there????

potatonet, what have you had done as that power figure at the wheels is probably the equivalent of 225bhp at the crank which is the most common figure we talk about over here not whp
-
The 16v has 256mm brakes and the g60 has 280 you can fit the g60 brakes no problem as long as you get the discs, calipers and the caliper carriers which are easy enough to get hold of as there are quite a few g60 being broken for spares lately just stick a post in the wanted section I'm sure someone will have some for sale
