Gazza I saw the corsa in the corner it was a rental car with stuff written down the side wasn't it. That bloody fire caused me loads of grief I woke up on sunday morning to a car with loads of dew and ash all over not to mention the dust from entering the campsite I had to wash the car 3 times over the weekend :D You should have come over I didn't know you were around!!!

Hey dazzy Those wheels look mint very good buy!! I didn't get you pissed you did that all yourself, having not drank for so long it didn't take me long to get pissed on friday night the funny thing is when I had to get out of my tent to get in the car in the middle of the night coz I was so cold took me about half an hour to work out how to get out :D I was sitting there trying to fight my way through the flysheet coz I couldn't get out!! LOL

I think the quarter mile timing equipment is Bull**it!! No offence meant but the timing is very optimistic IMHO

Daz I realised I still had it when I was unpacking I'll probably be down at the weekend so I'll bring it down then mate. It was good meeting up with a few people off the forum, it was an excellent weekend, I was glad to be back in my own bed though last night. I managed to get a few bits and bobs for the car the biggest was a complete polished and ported tsr head with a piper cam and vernier pulley :D ( cheers daz for spotting that one ) I got a few bits of polished alloy for under the bonnet as well so all in all I'm well chuffed.

The best way to set the ignition timing is to set it to the mark on the flywheel and gearbox pointer if you mark them with a white dot, disconnect the blue coolant connector and get someone to rev the car to 2000 revs and adjust the distributer accordingly that is the best way to get an accurate timing reading as far as I know.

I would be up for a set of the fk coilovers tom once I've sold me scirroco which looks quite promising as I've already had 6 phone calls on it. Not bad as it's only been advertised for 12hrs :D I thought I maybe asking too much for it but maybe not if it;s already had this much interest :D let me know what yaash can do them for us. I know of another place that deals in fk's direct from germany so might be a bit cheaper you never know!! :D

Dont worry LowG I ve got the camera charged and ready to shoot some pics! :D Dazzy I'll probably be leaving about 2ish so should also be at the campsite for 4ish. what type of wheels are you lookin for 5 spokes, multispoke, deep dish, split rims????? I fancy a nice set of 17" BBS split rims highly polished but I'm gonna have to settle for gettingmy rims refurbed and powder coated white for the moment until I save the magic £1500 odd quid they'll set me back!!

Oh my god it's only 2 days away and I ve got so much stuff that needs doing. I need to clean all the crap thats acumilated in there for a start then I need to polish it again and give it a proper spruce up!! Still really lookin forward to it now. Are you buying the first round in the bar then Dazzy :drinking: :D . What time are you planning on getting to the campsite if you want to arrange meeting there at roughly the same time give me a bell on 07740482464 it's going to take me about 2 1/2 hours to get there I reckon!!!

I'd agree with Kev I ve had a sachs clutch in my car for 2 1/2 years now and touch wood it's still going strong it's had a very hard life to say the least all theose days up at santa pod dumping the clutch at 4000revs and its on a standard clutch none of this high performance sh*t that aen't any stronger just more expensive!!! mine cost me £140 all in which was pretty good |I think!!
-
The best way to do it is to get the timing mark on the flywheel and put a white dot on it and also a white dot on the pointer on the casing that way it is more visible when the strobe light hits it. Unplug the blue sensor on the coolant pipe and get someone to rev the car to 2.5k thats the best way to get an accurate reading and adjust accordingly!! :D

To be honest mate you would be better off selling your left handed hooker and importing a rhd model it will save you a hell of alot of hassle or better still leave it as a lefty. I dont remember ever thinking wow it's LHD but you never know some people on this site may think differently to me!!! :D
-
A brand new one will set you back £300 +Vat :( you can pick them up for alot less money second hand I got mine for £50 with all the fogs and indicaters included :D you just have to look around

It needs tidying up a bit as everything is such a rush to get finished for inters. Tinsman I got the windows tinted professionally as I didn't fancy effing it up they cost £200 to do all the side windows in 20% classic and the rear in 5% chromo. I did the rear lights myself with a can of folia tec black smoke tint spray I just cleaned them down and sprayed a few thin coats on. LowG I contact glued the sides on and drilled 2 holes each end of the skirt The bottom hole on the front had to be bolted to the plastic inner arch as the skirt rolls away from the the arch on the rear I had to insert 2 alloy plates to make up the difference in the length as it was 1cm too long and the bottom hole was bolted into the bottom arch lip. I need to fill the gaps next with some sealer and the touch up with a touch up pen. They will look pretty good when finished I think hopefully I can get them all perfect for inters but that is only a few days away now so I had better get a move on :?

cheers for the pointers LowG didn't think of the blocks bit too late now :D
-
Cheers lanny you would not believe how much of an arse they are to fit!!! Very frustrating. I might even go the whole hog and buy a rieger front spoiler but I dont know how long it would last as it already scrapes on everything with the 90mm spoiler!! Hopefully when I get some more money coming in I am going to have the whole car stripped and re painted properly but it will do for the moment!! I prefer the front spoiler black as it contrast with the grille and the rest of the black stuff on the car!!!

It's been a while but here is glimpse of what the M3 sideskirts look fitted just got to do the other side now :?

Try impossible Tom :D a car without a cat is is allowed a maximum of co3.5% hc a car fitted with a cat is allowed a maximum of co +-.05%hc if I remember correctly and that is impossible to achieve without having a catylyst installed in my opinion correct me if I'm wrong tho somebody thats just from what I ve read about the MOT test

Try GPC they'll do the vr grille for £33 I think and then you can get a badge from them as well they come in either black or silver or you could get a grille from venom it's the same as the vr but badgless looks better without a badge I think! DOH just noticed your from across the pond!! :D Your main dealer will be able to supply you with a silver badge for your grille dont know any suppliers over there for a grille though I'm affraid
