I would try replacing the fuel lift pump it sounds to me as if the fuel pump is having to work extra hard to get fuel up ( hence the buzzing ) try that they're not that expensive from G&S or euro car parts about £25 if I remember correctly!!! -
I would seriously advise you buy a G60 that has already had the charger rebuild done there are plenty of g60's with this done already. I bought my G60 2 years ago with 90,000miles on the clock and when I got round to taking it upto jabba to have it serviced it was knackered so I ended up paying out £1200 for a recon and taken out to stg4 charger. If your looking at a g60 with over 70,000miles on the clock and it hasn't had the charger done, walk away from it or bargain the rebuild cost into the price of the sale. Welcome to the forum by the way!!

Yeah paul sounds like he's got it down to a 'T' my which is basically the same did this 3 years ago I replaced the main pump but that didn't stop the buzzing so I then replaced the lift pump and that cured it, its probably buzzing because it will have to be working alot harder to get the fuel up from the tank if it is the lift pump that has failed. I run my G60 on normal super with a wynns octane booster at each fill up, seems to do the trick it feels so much more responsive than running it on normal unleaded. I didnt really notice any difference when I tried optimax to tell the truth so dont bother with it anymore!!

Euro Car Parts are generally really good for parts veedub related but if I'm gonna get customer service like that I will use other sources from now on!

I did this mod at the weekend and it's worked a treat I bought 2 new rear handles off a '91 passat and some second hand mechanism's as well. The handles set me back £20 each from my Vag dealership and I bought the mechanism's from a Vw breakers in nottingham who sent them by courier the mech's cost me £10 a piece and the courier cost me £10 and they arrived the next day so for £70 I delocked both doors inc carriage which is about the pice before vat on 1 new corrado handle from Euro Car Parts who I am not very happy with at the moment as I bought a corrado handle off of them last june and it broke last week so it's only had 7 months use and they would only replace it after sending the old 1 back with the reciept even though I have bought a hell of alot of stuff off them over the last 4 years abnd they know me pretty well. I couldn't find the reciept so they wouldn't do a refund on it!!! ( Bast*rds ) The number for the VW Breakers I used is 0115 9791121 they were really helpful to me so I will be using them again if I need anything that aint worth getting new!!!

That sounds about right to me too!!

Hi dan that product sounds similar to a product that was launched over here a few years ago it was the called the turbozit or something, they weren't very popular and didn't substansiate the claims of extra power upto 20% or something they had quoted. I haven't seen them advertised anywhere for a while so I guess they're not available anymore. I wouldn't bother with a product like that go with the traditional mods that are guranteed to give you power increases!!

Alright mate I have just enquired at work about these as they are failing on my G60 at the mo i got a trade price from work for about £45+vat each. I can possibly get you some for this price as well let me know what you think and I ll see about ordering them!!

by looking at the rest of the kit it looks to me like it is the Zender kit that is fitted to your motor matey.

cheers chaps for info but it actually feels as though something is loose or something, its competely different to what a wheel out of balance feels like and tyre pressures out as it vibratyes the rack and makes the car steer to the left or right its not just the way the car normaly pulls when there's adverse camber I know 17's makes the car follow the lines of the road alot more but it feels completely different to that, it's really hard to put it into words. I'm going to have to look at it tomorrow now as I didn't get the time this afernoon I'm going to check all the usual parts, ball joints, track rod ends, anti roll bar bushes, bearings, suspension bushes etc etc....... But unless it's something obvious I dont think I'll find it!!! I'll perserveer though it's just another thing to add to the list thats been going wrong recently, I just hope it dont cost too much as darren @ P.D is making me a charge coolerat the mo and all the gubbins to go with so it's going to leave me a bit skint for a while!

Vent it through the hole in the inner wing Tom it's just about the right size for the job. I'm hopefully picking up my new breather pot tomorrow so if I get that then carbon cannister will be coming straight off and all the hosing that goes with it!!!

I dont think it's those I looked over them a couple of weeks ago and they seemed fine, it's really strange it only starts doing it after quite a while of driving like a motorway run or a good 20min drive and it also only really does it when are off the gas, when your on it accelerating it doesn't seem to do it!!! I have no idea what it could be I'm going to get it in the air this afternoon and see what I can see but if the MOT guy didn't spot it yesterday I dont think I'll have a hope in hell in finding something obvious, but its wortha look anyway i guess!!

I have a new problem with my car it's only really just started or I ve only just noticed it. Driving to southend and back last night going down thew motorway the steering just didn't feel quite right. It a funny problem when you start to decelerate naturally the car pulls to the left and tugs at the steering wheel but when you've got your foot on the accelerator it seems fine. Driving it through town at lower speeds the steeering wheel really tugs up and down. I cant think what it can be though I ve changed both cv joints had a new wheel bearing and I ve changed the suspension top mounts and also the wheels have been balanced and tracked up. Has anyone got any ideas on what this can be because it's got me baffled!!!

I average 12.5 mpg going to work in the morning ( 1 1/2 miles) 28 mpg round town and very rarely when I'm driving down the motoraway at a sensible speed I can get 47mpg but that is very rarely as I'm usually seen in the fast lane doing well over the spped limit. My best average for a 65 mile drive was 8.8mpg but that was tonking it down the motorway coming back from southend doing 130+ :D

I had the same problem on my G60 last year I took it off and degreased and cleaned all all off but It didn't cure the problem so I bought one second hand off a bloke who uses the ccgb website and that cured it straight away it sounds exactly the same problem as I had.In the mornings when I started it up it and drove it it would feel like someone was holding it back on the power but but then suddenly go as though nothing was wrong but when I'd pull up to a set of lights or something it would cut out, a bit embarrasing especially as my car stands out quite alot in a crowd!!! I would suggest to try and clean it first and if that dont work replace it with either new or second hand they are the same as the golfs and passats that use the digifant engine I think!
-
check the door switches they are sometimes the cause for this problem take them out give em a clean and try them if it dont work try replacing them they're only a couple of quid from the dealer stealers so if it aint the cause you haven't broken the bank doing it!!!

Ha ha that micra live 10 mins down the road from me the girl who owns it is really proud of it I think it's just a pile of sh*te!!! Funny to see it on the net though!!!

How much would my Corrado be worth these days?
Banana Man replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
I thought about selling my g60 at the begining of the year I even had it up for sale and had people coming to look at it. But when I came to sell it I just could'nt do it, I'm glad I didn't know even though recently I have had quite a few problems with it and spent a good 2 grand on it I still wouldn't be able to bring myself to sell it. Keep your chin up lad you'll find the money somehow to keep it on the road it's all part of the fun of owning a car like the C. DONT SELL IT!!!! -
Not good enough andi you can still read the number plate!! :D
-
The only thing I can suggest is to test the voltage coming out of the alternater with a multimeter if you have one it should be charging at 13-14v when the engine is running if it is below this then it aint charging properly and you'll need to buy a new one!! Also check that the fan belt isn't worn and slipping that could also mean that the alt isnt charging proerly hece the light coming on!!
-
Try this one out then guys I had a clifford Concept 300 fitted when I got the car 2 years ago, I also had the additional inteli start fitted with it but when I activate the inteli start and get out of the car with the engine running and shut the door and alarm the car it doesn't lock the doors it only alarms the car, but when I alarm the car normaly it locks the doors cant quite figure that one out apperently there's nothing you can do it's something to do with the vacuum on the door lock solenoids. This is very annoying as I want to replace the drivers door handle with a passat rear one as they are de locked. has anyone got any experience with this problem I'm told it's only vw's and audi's that do it!!!
-
Tom do as the man says I had my C fitted with a concept 300 fitted with the additional Intelistart for £400 (£300 without the intelistart) my insurance company insistead on a thatcham cat1 alarm and immobiliser when I first got my car and it saves me about 10% on my insurance premium each year so it is worth doing!!! Or failing that Demon tweeks do a remote locking kit cant remember the name of it but last time I looked they were selling for around the £100 mark. Personally I would still go for the alarm mate you cant be too carefull these days bloody TWOCers .
