Bit of an update, the driveshaft is fine it's the inner cv joint casing thats blown it's guts out I'm getting a new replacement for £35 from work so it's not as bad as I first though. It's a pretty easy job I ve got the driveshaft off and cleaned uo this evening took about 30 mins to buzz the driveshaft off. Cleaning it was a bit of a mission though CV grease is a flippin nightmare it's so thick and gungey!!!! :(

I know!!!!! :D
-
Cant remember but as they will only sell it as one then I guess it would be one part number!!!
-
I think they sell at http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk if I remember correctly!!!
-
Haven't a clue Nigel!!!!! :)

Join the club mate! I tried to get one not so long ago, my mates at VAG wont sell me just the outer lower window strip, instead you have to buy the whole outer window seal with it which is why it's so damn expensive I haven't found anywhere else that you can buy them yet, and it's not wise to get one from a breakers as they have a metal strip inside them that bends and once it's bent thats it you've had it.

heres a pic of the aftermath of what I ve got out of the inner cv joint it doesn't look as though the shaft has napped it looks like the casing for the shaft has dissintergrated around it hence the loss of drive, it's not really that bad as long as it hasn't caused any damage to the gearbox when it let go. I can do a shaft in about an hour and a half so once I get the new shaft I'll be up and running again!! there'll be more pics tomorrow I really cant be bothered to go out to the car now and take any too flippin cold and dark!!

Oh and almost forgot the last thing on the ISV reroute is to run the pipe that comes out of the throttle body to atmosphere this is where the the vented pressure comes out and what make the tsssshhhhhhh noise!
-
munkay If you've got a g60 you dont need a dump valve they already have a kind of a dump valve fitted in the throttle body the way to get the dump valve sound is to remove the the boost return pipe that the ISV and rocker breather goes to it's the black one that runs from the throttle body to the supercharger. There are 2 option for this mod the first is to cap off the the inlet of the charger with a plate and run the ISV pipe and rocker breather pipe into a breather tank (swirl pot) or secondly to have a collar made so you can run a second air filter into the charger for a dual intake system which will probably give you a few more horses under the bonnet. If you want to know more about this mod Darren at PD motorsport will be able to sort you out the bits to carry this mod out ( for a small fee of course :D )

HELP. Why is insurance going up again...Any ideas on cheaper
Banana Man replied to GazzaG60's topic in General Car Chat
Elephant.co.uk are only any good if you have an unmodified car I did the online quote thing got to the point where it asks for modifcations I had to tick about ten of them and the final result sorry unable to quote due to modifications!! the only modification they seem to allow is a set of alloys which is no good to me!! I ve got to get searching as my insurance run out next month GULP cheapest quote so far with 1 years ncd, no points, and 1 accident £843 tpft cant really afford that at the minute that scraps the budget for extra mods to the beast I ve got to find it cheaper!!!! :? -
Your on the right track munkay I was going to point out there are other chips available for the G60 what I have found with the Jabba chip is that it runs the car very rich all the time I ve got a emmisions tester at home and have tried to alter the co content coming out of the exhaust with not alot of sucess the best I have managed to get it down to is 3.2%co which is quite rich and would fail in the emmisions test in a mot. It should run between 1.0% and 1.5% so I ve been told with a maximum of 3%. I have recently been thinking of upgrading the chip to a Bahn brenner chip and uprated FPR but I have heard that the SNS chip is alot better due to the no digi lag so I will have to look into it a bit more before I commit myself.

I've just been through the old faithful etka cd rom and they're not listed they must be on the additions catalogue as they were an added option I'll get down to my local VAG dealer thats round the corner from me and find out the part number for them and price as I could do with some as well as long as they dont look naff of course!!!

I was going to do a group booking but it looks like most people want to book individually. In the end there is no set spot on the campsite it's first come first pitch sort of thing so unless we all arrive at the same time we might be scattered across the site. tell ya what I havent sent my form off yet so whoever wants to do a group booking let me know either by p.m or a reply on this thread and I will wait till next tuesday to book whoevers on the list I will advance book it as long as I recieve the money of course I'm a bit skint at the moment so I will need the money up front it's only £20 for the 2 nights does this sound reasonable!!!
-
Chris I'll be stopping at toddington services the same as before and will be there for around 8:30 ish. I'll probably come up with the 15's on the front and leave the 17's at home probably easier that way!!! see you there!! :D
-
Sorry my mistake just had a look at the reciept it was 4000rpm your right nige!! :D
-
heres the booking form!!
-
Yeah you'll notice from the bottem end the acceleration is magic!!! If your having the stg4 rebuild at the same time you'll need to bed it in for at least 400 miles by not taking it over 2500rpm but once you've done that you'll notice a big difference in acceleration. I had my charger done 2 years ago and then opted for the chip and pulley last year so the charger was already bedded in when I had the chip and pulley fitted so I could give it some down the motorway :D Great fun!!!!

After market Exhausts and Lowered C's How to make it work!!
Banana Man replied to G60Jet's topic in Engine Bay
I had a powerflow exhaust made as the Magnex i had previously kept knocking on the trailing arm not where it bends over the trailing arm but the back of the centre box kept hit the arm. I tried several times to have it adjusted but in the end I opted for the full custom made zorst which is by far the best exhaust I ve ever had and it cost a fraction more than the magnex but I had a de cat pipe fitted as well and had it made to what what I wanted it to sound like!! Sounds awesome!! Well happy!!! -
nice one dazzy it should be a laugh iftheres a few of us it could be the first corrado forum piss up I mean meet up!!! :D
