Been to look round a few in the region this week and severely disapointed in the quality out there. Don't expect a concourse car for about 2K but some tlc would be appreciated if your viewing a motor! Looked at a Passat and they'd put the reg plate on with old screws, which had gone rusty and stained both the front and rear plates. If thats the care they took with the plates, what's the rest of the car going to be like? :pale: KADVR6 - A long trip down to view your motor is looking more likely! Just a couple of queries, when was it last serviced and can you confirm what colour it is? Wasn't sure from the pics if its red or that odd bronze that Skoda did?

KADVR6 - You looking for a cash sale or open to offers for a swap for a modded G60?
-
Cheers for the pics KADVR6. Yep, info on tax/mot would be appreciated. Is it the cloth interior, what toys has it got? E/W, climate or A/C, radio, CD, parking sensors, etc. What mpg do you get? Oh and an embarrassing question from the girlfriend, 'does it go pssshhht?' :ignore:

KADVR6 - You got anymore info on the Skoda and pics?

Think its my age but starting to see the practical advantages of a decent estate car. :cuckoo: Looking for something that will take a bootfull of campng gear, bikes, be reliable over long distances, economical to own and run but still be fun to drive. Is this too much to ask? Had a quick look around at Skoda Octavia's, Passat Estates and Audi's, even the newer Mondeo  But would appreciate some real world advice from anyone thats got one or owned and run one? What engines should I avoid and any problems with them? Cheers. :notworthy:

Radiator Fan Query-Old 3 Pin plug into Slimline Fan 2 wires?
Jay2 replied to Jay2's topic in Engine Bay
Thanks for the advice. Due to time constraints ended up re-fitting the standard radiator and cowling. :salute: -
In the middle of fitting a 2nd hand Pro Alloy intercooler which has a slimline fan on a 91 G60. But my old fan was plugged into a 3 pin connector while the slimline fan just has two wires? Just wondering if its possible to wire these together and if so which pin do I ignore or how do I get it to work from the three wires into two on the fan? Any help appreciated as the car is sat on the drive in pieces? :(

Could have been worse, rung the Post Office for a quote, 30 minutes of my life I will never get back. :( Now, fair do's, not every normal person knows BREMBO as a brand name, but then also having to spell "C A L I P E R", as in brake caliper, which is on every frigging car........... :bad-words: Is it impossible NOT to get a job working for a Car Insurance firm.

Brentacre were cheaper.

Hooray its back!

Think Hamster mentioned new series in November during episode?
-
 Aye, had me and mates baffled, took it to the local garage and they too were baffled until he suddenly thought to pressure check the cap, turned out it was only a small crimp but enough to not seal fully. Changed mine for a blue one and had no problems since. :salute:

After watching that episode I'm glad it was the last in the series, severely scraping the barrel. :( NEEDS NEW IDEAS!

Might be worth checking the seal on the expansion tank cap? Had the same problem of the coolant gushing out on mine after flushing and putting some new stuff in. I'd crimped the rubber seal while taking it on and off, causing a lack of a seal under pressure. Hope its as simple as that.

Have you already removed the Carbon Canister?

Last one this weekend? :(

Thanks to James May the Capri legend lives on! :epicfail:

Cheapest way of extra Bhp is swap your VR6 for a G60. .........I'll get my coat..............

Bought some last week, as put 5mm spacers on the front of my C to clear the new brake calipers. McGuard do various different lengths. One thing I would try first is your local motor spares, Halfords McGuard £35, local motor spares £25.

Yet again Riley... :notworthy: Watched the video a few times and its still 8)

Don't think thats OEM!

Sorry mate but you can never get rid of the stigma of 4/5 doors = 'family car' and a people carrier is just around the corner. :gag:
-
Cheers Tim, Yep, think its been mentioned before when I've queried it that I'm already maxed out with NCB. Just seems a bit odd that I could have 30 years no claims but isn't of any financial benefit. :cuckoo: Not picking on Chris Knott but the whole Car Insurance thing just seems completely random with no logic.

Top Job JMC. :notworthy: Was it difficult to plumb everything in? Which gauge do you find the most usefull for a G60?
