For those of you who didn't think I would ever start ... WELL I HAVE!! :clap: The car is in the garage with most things removed/disconnected from the old 12v ready to pull it out, I haven't got a crane so was just going to roll it out on a jack but I didn't fancy it on my own so needed some muscle :( I will remove it either one night this week or weekend I suppose. Pics to come! :cheers:

Yeah that would be the best option for factory running, although Pete's set up didn't go smoothly! I didn't get the cats with the engine anyway so will just make do with a decat and the 2 lambdas (which KipVR has available hopefully!). They shouldn't throw fault codes as they will get completely flashed from the ECU so it won't complain that they're not there .. well that's the plan anyway! I guess we'll wait and see :lol:

That's the same case as Slick tyres which I have experienced all too well on a motorbike when I used to race :( ended up in a 120mph highsider out of Clearways Corner at Brands Hatch! First time on slicks, they had bags of grip over cut tyres (which were pretty slick anyway tbh!) so I got overconfident, ended up squeezing the power on too early (on a race tuned R1 this is so plenty of power to squeeze on!) and they just let go. Spent 2 days in hospital and came out without any injuries :cheers:

Ahh so front ones I need then! Confuses me, but now I know :lol: Are the lambdas you have the ones I need? I think they are the same across a range of VW/Audi cars aren't they? If they are the ones I need then I'll have them off ya :)

Has anyone got the part numbers for the 2 lambda's I need to run for my Mk5 R32 please. I just posted about this in my gallery thread but might as well ask in here as well. The 2 I need are the REAR ones right which are PRE cat? To me pre cat is after the exhaust manifold and before the cat and post being after cat and out the exhaust? And these 2 lambda's are wideband which are different to the front 2 or are they all the same lambda? Also another thing to clarify, with the PAS set up on the MK5 I have a 4mo bracket and tensione so I can run it all as is on the 4mo/VR. I heard I run the VR PAS pump but use a 4mo pulley, is that correct? What size belt would I use, standard 12v (non-aircon) belt or standard 4mo (non-aircon) belt? Cheers :)

Well I am confused with these bloody lambda's as well to tell the truth. I was aware I need the 2 PRE cat lambdas which are wideband and actually measure the fuel mixture etc whereas the 2 POST cat were there to just check the cats are working. Now to me PRE cat is between the exhaust manifold and cats and the POST cat are after the cat leading out to the back of the car, correct? I run the 2 PRE cat lambdas as normal but I then need to get the 2 POST cat lambdas flashed from the ECU otherwise it will throw fault codes and will go in to limp mode. I bought a lambda off ebay which was brand new and was described as a PRE cat one, touch wood it's the right one, just need the other one now, will have to go VW for that which will be costly :(

So about the same time mine will be finished then :lol: Well I'm hoping to get the old 12v out this weekend and can then mess about cleaning the bay up, spraying the gearbox etc and prepping the R32 to go in. The physical side of things will probs only take a few weeks, it's the fiddly stuff after that which will take the time! But then I'm probs just going to spend the cash and give it to Stealth to set up, so hopefully it will be a fairly quick (ish) install ... it won't be though but I just keep saying it to myself to I actually get started :lol:

Well my downpipes arrived the other day :clap: so I'm ready to start! Going to start stripping it down this weekend me thinks all being well. It's going to be a bit tighter now though as will be doing it in my single garage rather than the barn I was originally going to use! Shouldn't be too much of a problem as I can wheel it out on the drive on nice days and most work is at the front anyway so won't need to get round it too much! Pics to come :cheers:

I have the Hicon GT's which are firm but were generally OK for me. My shocks have started leaking now and they have become crashy :( wish I had gone for the TX's to soften them up a bit or spent a bit more and gone for KW's!

Agreed, so you need good clearance to be able to get the wishbone at the right angle to slide it in!

Or have the best of both worlds and use R32 bushes, not as hard as poly bushes but miles better than the schitty standard design which just squidge around even when new because of the stupid holes in them! That's the big rear wishbone bush i'm talking about btw.

The Weitecs only have 2 year warranty whereas KW's have lifetime so even though Weitec are owned by KW it's pretty obvious they aren't the same, regardless of how many people keep saying they are at the end of the day.

I have yeah. It's not necessary, but imo it's best to prepare the car for more power so I renewed as much as possible. Coilovers aren't necessary unless you want a lower, better handling car which is what I wanted. ....not sure why but I cant PM you Herisites :scratch: !!! what do you think of the weitecs ? - sorry off topic but Big Ben said he was cool with it.[/quote:12nld138] The Weitec's are good if you don't want to spend a lot of money, better than buying cheap brands at least as they are owned by KW so you get good quality. For example the threads are coated so they don't rust up like cheap models will. I got the Hicon GT's which are only height adjustable, I wish now I had spent that little extra and gone for the adjustable ones (think they are TX's) as could have made them tad more comfortable, but then when I got mine I had my wide wheels on which caught the arches so needed firm ride plus the roads where I used to live weren't that bad. Where I am now the roads are appauling and the Weitec's are just too crashy for me (400lb front springs!). Generally they are good quality and reliable but my 2 front shocks are both slightly leaking fluid, I discovered the other week when installing my MED top mounts. I think that's purely down to where I live and the roads I take to work (bad condition town roads and very bumpy country roads) and the fact that these are designed for german roads (nice and smooth!). When I come to replace them I will be doing it properly and getting some KW V3's, fully adjustable, comfortable and better quality! But you pay for it.

As long as it's a C30 model charger and not a bigger model like C34 then it will fit the bracket as they are all the same casing, just different internals. I'll need to weigh up my options first mate see what the best thing to do is, I'd be happy to just get shot of it as quick as really as it's just been sat in the garage for so long. See what TTS say, tell them you have an SP30-74 which seized up (bearings gone) and are looking to upgrade to a C30-94 and see what they offer you.

I asked them if they would rebuild mine and they were the ones who offered me a new one for a discounted price. They're based not that far from me actually, in Silverstone.

I would, I didn't at first and when i first fitted my charger my head gasket started to go. Took it apart and the chain tensioners were fcuked, the gasket was days from blowing and my head was pitted quite badly!

I would probably steer clear of Aquamist as I heard the pump go on them fairly quickly. Now the exchange rate is a bit better have a look on http://www.spturboparts.com/, they have a water/methanol injection kit which would be much better and no doubt cheaper! Schimmel stuff is VERY well proven. And yeah you can buy the charger's on their own.
