    Oil Coolers Rule

ruffy; I got my kit from TSR for about £140, but you can get them a little cheaper, although the hoses weren't braided, but the braiding only cost me another £10 from a local Hydraulic fitters. It's been fitted to the front cross member, in front of the radiator on the passenger side. Only time you can see it, is if you kneel down and look through the bottom grill in the bumper. I can't give any tips on fitting it, cos I cheated  and got JBS to do it for me, but they did a top job :D I've also got a lower temp thermostat to go in too. I got that from Awesome GTi it was only about £15 I think. I'm not sure if Darren (8VG60) does a kit or not, but try giving him a ring.
  2. JBS Auto Design Chesterfield 01246 550400 They've just sorted out my bodywork and fitted my oil cooler, and helped me big time last year when my charger blew. They fixed it over christmas!!
  3. I picked my car up from JBS last night, after dropping it off 4 weeks ago. Due to an obscene amount of rot which had been covered up with filler thanks to a couple of owners before me. Anyway I dropped it off, after being given a really good quote and let them have their wicked way with it. I was shocked when I saw it again last night! The quality of the work and finish on the paint is amazing, it's like a brand new car! The work that went in to it was tricky to say the least. I'll try and get hold of some before and after pics. It's just a quick mail to tell anyone that if they need a top notch spray or repair job doing, and you are near Chesterfield, give JBS a call. I'm very happy with my C again now :D :D

    Oil Coolers Rule

After 4 weeks in the bodyshop at JBS, thanks to a lot of rot I didn't know about, I've got my G60 back. While it was up there I had an Oil Cooler kit fitted! OMG :D :D The drop in oil temp in amazing! On the way up there on the motorway the temp stayed around 104c. On the way back it never went above 96c! Anyone who has a G60 go and get a kit fitted asap!!

    g-werks project....

Forgot to ask earier, is your car going to be the testpiece for the 1.9L X-flow monster engine you and Pitstop developments are working on?  If so, didn't you mention something to me about it being very powerfull and sounding like an animal with the new head on it???

    g-werks project....

I take it the engine will be producing awesome BHP then Darren
  7. I'm running 205/45R16's all round on mine. It's been lowered using BOGE shocks and spring too. No probs with scrubbing or anything. Have a look in the gallery.
  8. I always fill up with Super Unleaded on my G60. It seems to love the stuff! I've just been looking on the net and it appears that BP are planning on fetching fuel out with 100 RON. Should make things feel quicker 8)
  9. Cheers mate look forward to it Not sure when I'll get it though, I'm about to leave work now and won't be in till monday. Oh thank god for the weekend. :D
  10. They're not that much more than some VW item's I priced up a bit ago. Bargain!! Are they the one's you need for the 1.9L bottom end? If you take VISA mate I'll have a set now, but if not, I'll wait till I can get the whole engine you told me about (1.9 BE and X-Flow head) I still haven't got my Rotted C back yet either :( How's the X-flow conversion and the FM IC coming along? I've just seen the pics of your C. Well impressive 8) Cheers mate P.S. I'll get the Direct Debet set up now

    chips

I'm running a 68mm pulley and chip from Jabbasport. I'm well pleased with it, but am going to swap it for an SNS item when I get the engine rebuilt. I think it works out about £230 for the chip, pulley and belt tensioner cap. It's not that hard to fit either, just pop open the ecu, the old chip pulls out and the new chip pops in :D Getting the getting the old pulley off can be tricky though if it's stuck. And finaly you just cut the head off the old belt tensioner and slide the new cap on. There you go around 25-30% increase. I was well shocked when I first booted mine :D Someone has got to spot a mistake in what I've wrote, I usually get told off for something, like the time I said I was running 2bar of boost
  12. Just wundered if anyone one else near me has heard about the Street Racing that's supposed to happen at or near Crystal Peaks in Sheffield every friday. I'm in Rotherham so it would be good to go up and see what sort of cars people are running. I'll bet my log book it's all novas, corsas and saxos with the odd scooby and cossie!

    quick question????

It would be interesting to see what a 20v head would be like on the G60.
  14. RACK

    Turbo or G60???

I've just had a look on the EIP website and seen a turbo conversion for the G60, I know it's been round a while but has anyone had their G60 converted to a turbo? Just wondered what it was like? It's crossed my mind before just for the sake of mental power, but now I'm looking at 1.9 bottom end with X-flow head and a few other bits and bobs  What do you lot think? Cheers peeps
  15. RACK

    quick question????

I'll keep saving up my money then mate.  Looks like I should get a direct debit ready to start paying you for the advice and parts! Cheers mate P.S. How's the Front mount IC going? Did you manage to find anyone to bend the pipes?
  16. Andy91 I'm in Rotherham, about 10 mins from sheff. The same rain problem too

    quick question????

It's a good job you don't charge for advice Darren, I'd owe you a fortune  I take it putting a crossflow head on will be expensive but worth it. As long as it's realiable, but would I be better getting the original head ported and putting a good cam in it, baring in mind I use it as a daily driver :? :?
  18. I've just been ringing around to try and gather some parts for the engine rebuild for when my rotten C comes back for the JBS bodyshop. The question is about a crossflow head, I've found one for sale for about £100. Too good to be true I thought. I'm guessing it would be stripped bare, but then I also got told that it would take some plumbing in and that I might have trouble finding a good cam to put in it? Has anyone got any ideas on the matter? Oh and how would you go about fitting it? well when I get my car back?? :( :( Cheers ppl
  19. Darren, are the discs you've given the part numbers for 4 or 5 stud? Only asking because on your pic they are and on the other one they've had to be drilled out???

    damn my oil cooler!!

Is it possible to fit the oil cooler on the opposite side to the intercooler, under the supercharger?? :?
  21. RACK

    damn my oil cooler!!

I'm still scratching my head on the best place to put it, I got told in front of the radiator, but I'm still not sure. Some pics would be well help full. I got the kit from TSR for about £145.
  22. Yeah mate. I go to a place called JBS Auto in chesterfield who are VAG tuners. They're well smart and really know their stuff. They helped me out big time when I couldn't get my charger sorted. They found me a new one and rebuilt and uprated in the few days we have between Xmas day and new years eve. Top set of blokes. If you want to give them a ring the number is 01246 550400 They have a website too but I'll have to find that out for anyone whose interested

    My Project

Yeah, the tyres were in with that but they aren't real Khans. I wanted some real Khans but couldn't get hold of them for ages and they were expensive, then I saw these in an advert for South Coast Wheels and as you can see unless you get close you can't really tell the difference. If you want to go for buget tyres, you can get a set for of 16's for about 400, 17's are about 500 and 18's are only about 600 or 700 now with rubber. Mine came with marshall power racer tyres, and although people slated them, they lasted me well over a year and gripped fine. IMHO they were a bargin!  If you want their number they usually have a big 2 or 3 page spread in Fast Car, but if you can't find it give me a shout. These style wheels are well cheap now, but I still think they look pretty cool 8)
