1.8 kr is more rev happy than the 2.0 9a because of the cams and the head.and a bit more powerful 145 bhp to 139 bhp i think.I loved my mk2 gti valver for this reason,i miss her :(

11 miles will just about get the car up to working temp.ive a g60 and i drive 10 mile to work,it just reaches operating temp(oil)as i drive in the gates.and thats driving at 60mph with a supercharged engine. so your mpg sounds normal.see if a 70c thermosat is fitted,i dont like them opening that early personally,our weather doesnt get that hot.check specfic gravity of your coolant.check tyre pressures.check oil isnt black.take crap out of the boot. take it for a longer drive somewhere once a week(motorway or dual)to get rid of the crap in a coked up engine sorry if it sounds patronizing but ive seen lots of people driving around with black treacle oil,full boot and near flat tyres whining why theyre mpg is bad which p@6ses me right off(tyres beening dangerous) :bad-words: hope it helps :)

have you done anything recently on the car(other than change lamba?)?

sounds like wiring is loose somewhere,when you start it the vibrations knocking the connection/ plug/wiring off. sounds silly but ive seen it lots of times. and its a pain to find

does the exhaust smell of raw fuel on startup?

Hi guys,went to bremen tuning show yesterday.it was very good. only one prob,left my camera in nightmode and just about all pics were crap :( :roll: got pair of headlights,one found clip inside broken :( but for 99 euro theyre not bad Anyone know ABM? ive never heared of them but lights are very well made,better quailty than the orginal headlights. Has anyone heard of them?

i bought 4 new injectors for my mk2 gti 16v years ago and they cost me 70 euro brand new.cant imagne they cost lots more since

the large red wire from the alternator goes on the same terminal on starter as the battery postive red wire(on the starter soleniod) dont forget the small blue spade connector that goes on the right hand side(looking from starter terminal end) hope it helps

get a buddy in the drivers seat to push the throttle and you have a look at the throttle cable+ body to see if its the cable or throttle mechanism thats sticky.also try it by hand ,you might see a difference between using cable and your hand. if it appears to be good then suspect a sensor failure I know its general fault finding but it might help

I prob read the display wrong was at nightime,so your prob right! :) still the best 150 euro ive spent on the car Noticing better mpg already.engine isnt revving as high at least,saving the charger.you know what im talking about,you enjoying your CTN box? i have to slighty adjust the gears,tad hard to put in sometimes.Next mod,im already in process of taking the cruise control unit off my other g60,ready to put onto this one and have a nice autobahn crusier. Just saving up to start my 16vg60 project and programmable ecu with wideband(dont like digifant anymore,getting dated now and tempermental at times!)

You can get it at halfords.loctite freeze and release. yes its good stuff for exhaust bolts and very rusty stuff but wont recommend using it anywhere near plastic cause it will make it very brittle.

cheers matt,but im 600 km north of you,walsrode which is bit of a long drive going to get the pieces i need in a weeks time cause off to bremen to a tuning show this weekend to see some burning rubber and womens boobys!(my wife will be watching me like a hawk :grin: :tongue: ) The ASD box and cruise control will make it a lovely long distance crusier :D

Roads where i live in germany are good,but lot of people drive slow!! :cuckoo: mainly want it for autobahn use when i come back to uk for my leave period.have to check the parts and see i can reuse some of them. i just want to be sure the parts from vr6 will fit a g60 model

Guys,found complete kit from a passat vr6 on flee bay that id like to get. Does anyone know if it can be installed in standard corrado g60? I had cruise control in my US spec G60 but she had bit of fire :( still got some of the parts on the car bar the parts that melted(pedal actuator,ecu) shouldnt really be a prob but what do you guys think?

think you need to change your coolant fellow! :gag: New rad will save time,grief and the engine when rad goes pop or youll be getting a vist from mr tow truck :lol:

You can put a bit of heat on the nut(oxy/acete torch or similar) which usually works if you know someone with one.or lots of loctite freeze and release spray.or find breakers nearby(easiest and better option cause strut is screwed anyway) Have you serviced the car recently?spark plugs,air filter,oil,oil filter?worn lambas usually overfuel so your fuel compustion would be worse than normal. the heater can go bad in them too,easiest way to find out is start your car from cold and after 30 seconds if the exhaust smells of fuel it very well may be the lamba or lamba heater seen better days.its just a guide but it may help.there could more than one problem

Ok had a run down the autobahn... I highly recommend the ASD box to everyone!!its what the corrado should of had in the first place! not only is it smoother,tighter but also you can get to 110kmph in second gear! the diff is a bit tighter than standard raddo box(both wheels spin now when flooring it into corners instead of all the power going to the one lifted wheel making corners more fun and controllable :norty: ) completely standard g60(apart from boost return delete and new headunit :roll: ) with ASD box on 205/50/15 100kmph-2000rpm 120kmph-2470rpm 215-220kmph-4500rpm maxed out(prob little faster if i had a downhill run) At least them hours have paid off!!! hope to see better mpg on autobahn when normal driving :wink:

well its in at last! :) couldnt use the ATB selector tower,seems the selectors are slighty different when mated with ASD box.wouldnt get 1,2,5 or reverse Also had to ditch the balance weight,it was catching on the boost pipe(if i go fmic i might put it back on at later date) the clutch doesnt feel brillant at the mo,think master cylinder may have to be bled will post speed-revs when i bring it down the autobahn tomorrow! :norty:

Got spare weekend to do the gearbox,spent 5 til 9 last night getting the ATB box off What a pain in the :censored: Granted ive got big hands and small spaces are bit of a issue with me,but how hard are them bolts to reach,ones that hold diff casing to gearbox mount? :bad-words: anyway got it out ready to put ASD box in. im still cautious about putting in the ASD box cause its bit more diffcult to turn than raddo box.it just seems the internals are heavier,maybe because its a desiel box,i dont know.BUT the diff is better than the slippy ATB box will keep you updated on the box and how its performing
