hi guys, My rado has the Activ system and the wiring is a absoulate nightmare, wires dont go direct to the speakers.Has anyone out there ever wired up a activ system to a modern headunit????id like to keep speakers oem(i even have the gamma oem headunit but its locked) Ive got no sound at all, think the activ system is not getting power hence speakers not working. Heres pics of the unit, theyre bloody heavy  Guys help would be deeply apprecitated

The temp guage on my g60 is acting a bit funny. just yesterday it went to 70 degrees then goes down and up a little but never went up since. thought it could be a failing thermostat so left it idle til the fan came on but guage didnt move.wiring is ok as far as i can see. Anyone had a failing black coolant sensor? dan

oil temps is this high update changed the rad all done
dannyboy replied to sparks's topic in Engine Bay
I get 110-116 degree oil temp at 220 kmph and will stay there but thats foot to the floor on the autobahn. :norty: at 80 mph you should be less than 110 degrees,so 120+ indicates problem. -
could be,not sure where, youll have to look mate! It will cause your engine to run rough and use more fuel(if break is before O2 sensor it will detect too much oxygen and dump more fuel in to protect engine)

sounds like your exhaust has broken somewhere, maybe downpipe? get under, grab the exhaust, give it a wiggle!

nice one, glad to hear you found the prob! took me two weeks to find out why my old raddo ecu was on the fritz!found out igniton switch had bad contact(reason i found that was because the electric seatbelts were on the same switch which they were playing around while i was driving! Police officer-why havent you got your seatbelt on? Me-bang the steering column, belts go on,one puzzled looking officer!! :confused4:

OBD2 On Board Diagnostic- generation 2 Cars from 1996 had to have it OBD1-car manufactures made there own version of on board diagnostics, their own codes readers could only read. OBD2-homogenised the on board diagnostics so that nearly any code reader could read any car hope that helps

quite true about cheap brand petrol.they are allowed put up to 5% ethanol by volume by law without having to publish it.they also stick in very small amounts of methanol and other detergents. ethanol eats rubber for breakfast.bad on old cars

sounds like fuel starvation problem, doesnt have to be just the fuel filter.maybe fuel pump not up to the job anymore by the sound of it

hi guys, decided to try out a different apporch to everyone and go with an ASD box instead of the CTN.it has 46000 miles on the box and bought it for 150 euro.wont be able to install it til over two weeks cause i have to wait for import licence for my car to come through, before i can move my car :( anyway i keep yous updated. The question i am asking is that i have tried to turn the drive output flange by hand and this spins in the same direction as the other.every other gearbox i have come to the other drive output will spin in the opposite direction, differential is stiff to overcome but i can do it by hand(just),gears do turn without cluncking or grinding but are very weighty and require bit of effort to turn by hand. only tiny amount of backlash on the teeth which is a good sign I have an ATA petrol box is a very high miler (350k) and can turn the output flange with two fingers and other side spins opposite, differential is quite easy to overcome holding one side. Im prob comparing a old, duff petrol box that should be on the scrap-pile to a low mile, solid, diesel box  but i want to be sure before i install it Any help guys, tell me what you think? look first or shut up and get the thing installed already :norty:

try not to use stuff that goes into race boxes in your normal box as motorsport boxes are designed for relaibity and durabitly, not longitivity and smoothness The cogs in motorsport boxes maybe heat or cold treated and can take that type of oil but maybe not so your normal gears I recommend using oil one of the above the guys have talked about, its been proven and safer for your box
