  1. Bit harsh on the spectator who was wiped out (and most likely killed) @ 2min50
  2. Any chance of an update? :) The C looks amazing in the last few piccys you posted up, engine bay looks spot on. Top notch. :thumbleft:
  3. Reading this thread has made me miss owning a Corrado so much, Jim your post especially - I remember when I first got mine and was in 5th gear doing 30, (I had just come out of a Mk2 8v GTi which have plenty of grunt in 5th at 30) and floored it - the way it picked up was awesome. It made me smile and then I felt happy. I have a 1 year old A3 Sportback now - 1.8T 160bhp 7.7 secs to 60 - tops out 140 I think, with the S tronic box - don't get me wrong it's a nice motor, quite poky low down (that'll be the turbot) but, not once has it given me enjoyment comparable to a Corrado VR6. I fecking love VR 'rados. :D
  4. My whip; 1.8T 7 speed flappy paddle DSG jobbie. Burj Khalifa can been seen in the background. :)
  5. I've never done an ignition switch, but I think I'd sooner tackle that than doing a gearbox on my back again, muscles I didn't know existed ached for days after that.
  6. I like that. :) Dr Forinor I hope you thoroughly enjoy the car, sure you will, a man has to work hard to afford a car like that so I salute you. Fair play. It's a beaut, and I love the arse end.
  7. Get the 4mo bought. Mk5s are two a penny so *when* you get bored of the 4mo you know you can easily pick one up but the chance of a blown 4mo isn't going to come along very often. If I was living in the UK I'd be telling you to buy the Mk5 and would gazump you on the 4mo haha :D I've decided when I come back, or move somewhere else in the world with decent roads (they're boring in the UAE) I'm going to build myself a no expense spared mk5 R32 T, well after I've had my 911 anyway.
  8. Haha It's Ziderapple As in drink up thy Zider!! I actually laughed out loud when I read zipperapple. In truth I quite like it. :D Back on topic my Corrado was sold at the end of September last year, the guys other car is a 911 GT3. 8) Man has taste.
  9. /\ That man speaks sense. A very well know moderator and lover of all things blown spent lots of money building a 3ltr VR block - it didn't last long at all. If I was going to build an engine for force feeding I'd be using the 2.8 lump.
  10. If you want bomb proof with a mind to going turbocharged in the future then at the very least make sure all the bolts used are ARP. Normally when going FI its best to drop the compression ratio, best way is with new shallower forged pistons, but many use a spacer gasket between the head and block instead which is fine, it just means either you drive it gutless from now until you go FI or you pull it apart again when you do go force fed. Shame you're not doing it all together really. I know though - too expensive. :( All been there. I'd add a new VAG oil pump to the list, new thermostat housing, replace any hardened or worn hoses (or better still go all SAMCO) and look into to some Gruven goodies - crack pipe etc. HTH
  11. Meh. Seen worse. The thing that caught my eye was the door being a different colour to the rear panel... :dorky:
  12. me too, you sure you dont want to make Shaun a counter offer for his car and let me drive that to Dubai for you?! :D Haha, you still thinking about driving here!?! It'd be cool until you got to Turkey, then I think the fun would trial off... I do keep looking at the map and day dreaming about it though, the Euro leg would be awesome! I'd want to take in all of it though, but think Spain would be a bit too much of a detour if heading here.. I really want to visit Poland and Czech Rep and Ukraine too - mostly for the beer and the bitches... I recently found myself talking to some Ukrainian girls in a bar (Yes they were hookers and No I didn't take one home! :nono: ) and they were monumentally hot, so now I've convinced myself that all the women there are mega babes. I'd love to know how much Shaun has been offered, I'd have it in an instant - no good here though, no a/c IIRC and steering wheel's in the wrong place - its just plain not allowed here. :( I would however entertain putting it in storage until I came back to the UK. So sorry, I'm not gonna fund the road trip for you! Typing this has got me thinking about how to spend my holiday this year, thinking escape the summer heat here and have 3 weeks touring Europe, a good mate has got a VW camper I reckon he'd let me borrow. Hmmm. Muppetlab - sorry about the thread hi-jack. I stand by my advice though, burst waterhose :pale: , splash out on some Samcos and replace the thermostat housing - you'll never need to worry about it then.
  13. What sort of condition are your water hoses in? I think that'd be my biggest worry, that and the thermostat housing. Check 'em and make sure you're all G12+ uppped. Have a good un, love a road trip personally. :D
  14. My 24v lump hunted and was a little rough when first started, tuned out it was a teeny air leak on the back of the manifold. Good work by the way. :salute:
  15. going for this look, should get me noticed in the scene then  LMAO!!
  16. Its up for sale again... http://dubai.dubizzle.com/classified/au ... -r32-2008/ :ignore:
  17. coullstar, the first picture is fantastic, shame you didn't take it from a bit further away, would have made a great banner pic! Loving the rims. :)
  18. 217MPH - a mere £149k... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
  19. Riley, think there are some shots of yours earlier on in the thread looking rather different. Leonard - loving that picture - very artistic. Kepmy - HOW shiny!?! shame the oil burning Olop is in the second shot, still cool though. Wastegate, cool picture of the rear end of yours it really shows off the Corrado's lines - why we all turn around and look at them after we lock them and walk away. Borarob, nice dusky shots. Shame someone had to spoil it by posting up one of that old banger from Jersey.... Bit of right click, save action going on.. More please! :D
  20. Some lovely shots in here, and now seeing as DSLRs have come down in price since this thread was started, there is no excuse people! Not that I have one, or a Corrado anymore, but still, I would like some new pics to perv at. :D I quite liked these two of my old, missed C Wish I had waited for the car in the background to pass.
  21. Charlie I'm glad you're enjoying your car, but really.... you should keep comments like that to yourself! :pukeright: DanG60 - If you're in no rush to go FI then spend some time on the block before going turbo. In fact I'd be tempted to buy a 2.8 block and re-build on a stand and get it ready to drop in with the turbot when funds allow. The 2.8 blocks seem much stronger and with the turbo you wont notice any difference in power.
  22. I've never seen one in the flesh, but often day dream about it too for some odd reason, I think it is because I have seen most cars I had on my wall as a child but never one of these, what is also a little weird is that as I type this I am in Qatar! Ramada Plaza Doha to be exact. Meh. I'm going to go and find it now and have it shipped home. :luvlove:
  23. Emailed the seller twice now and not heard anything back. No phone number either. :( I must be honest I keep changing my mind every two mins on what car I want but after some off-roading with some mates last weekend I was like this is fecking awesome! So am look at 4.0L V6 Jeep Wrangler Sports now... :)
