There is a special VW tool for the pistons - only costs about £15 and is so much easier than messing around with grinding an angle on a normal ring compressor. Pic halfway down: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=54505&start=75

Worst luck mate. :( Makes my blood boil, I hit the roof after someone put my window through, I'm not sure how I'd calm down if that happened to my car. Think I'd just find the nearest chav and beat him :hitler:

Pete Griff's 'Rado R32 - (Not quite!) Alive at last! :D
ziderapple replied to pete_griff's topic in Members Gallery
Hi Pete, Glad you're pleased with the end result, I know I was blown away by mine the first time I gave it a proper run, I can only imagine the 3.2 feels even better. I hope its just the case on the end of your gear box making the noise - was nice easy fix for me, plus the noise was intermittent I think. Instal looks nice and neat too, well have to try and arrange a 24v thrash soon. I have been away for about 10 weeks and have only checked the forum a couple of times so have lost track of everyones progress - quite randomly though as I was queing for my flight out of Singapore - Mark (vag-doc) called me about your short shifter! I'm just about to pop a new tax disc in the C and take it for a spin now! -
Sorry, but I'm going to Singapore on wednesday!!! :D :D    (am a bit gutted I'm missing the GP thou :( ) Looks like its going to be excellent. Go Lewis!

Will be passing through the ox ford tomorrow....

Goldie, I was going to let the wheels go with the car.. may sell seprately but it would mean getting my hands on a good set of speedies with decent tires for not too much, otherwise its just hassle for not alot of extra £. Thanks for the info Stan. Shame we're in the midst of a credit crunch and general slump in C prices. Think I'll advertise at just over 5k.

Hmm. Maybe, I might be going back up to Northampton soon so could prob tie it in with a visit via Oxford. Only thing is the insurance expired a few days ago. I'll prob need to renew it though in order to sell it, plus I want to drive it abit more before it goes. so... yeah!

I need a new project... Oh and I may have spent the last weekend with the jumper thief - she wont give it back though, so I nicked something of hers... Was gonna give you a shout as I was up in Northampton for the w/end, but I dont have your number.

Will be putting an ad in the for sale section soon.

The R32 will be plenty for you n/a!

In the flesh they are much better. I'd have one. I'd like one actually.

ooh thank you mr duke, the value I had in my mind was a fair bit lower to be honest. I had forgotten to mention wheels before, three are immaculate one with a couple of marks and four excellent Eagle F1's - like new. I'll see what people think at ed38.

BMW 1-Series Coupe - What does everyone think ?
ziderapple replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in General Car Chat
I think the proportions are all wrong, would much rather a normal 1 series - but then I'd never get one of those either. -
How much do you think its worth guys? Bonnet has usual stonechips, bumper has a few marks - no scuffs. Suspension could do with some work - set of coilovers, new top mounts and wishbone bushes would sort it nicely. Other than that everything works fine, loads of life left in clutch - its only done about 4000 miles and is all genuine VAG. Sunroof packed up the other day but this will be fixed before its sold. Engine is, as you'd expect sweet. Black leather, blah blah blah.....

A couple of sites I work at use magnets on their fuel supplies to our burners - one gas and on heavy fuel oil, and appaerently they do work.... I think its aload of crap myself but the site with the magnets strapped around the gas line can get a full refund if savings are not made.

Wheels look cool. Good to see a different set tried out, think they work. -
Lot of sense spoken there.... hmmm. I may hang onto it yet, just think I'd be very very tempted if someone made me a good enough offer. Would be gutted to see it go, a mate drove it yesterday and was blown away by it - he is used to aircooled dubs though so maybe hes easily pleased, but he said I'd be mad to sell it.
-
Bring back the old top gear.....
-
I know it seems madness, but its mainly due to personal / financial reasons. I have recently split with a long term girlfriend, which as meant moving back home with my parents. Nothing against them, but I'm 25 - I need my own place. I was renting before but have decided I want to buy in the new year, so its time to start saving, shedding out goings and clearing stupid debts. I dont want to sell it, but it makes sense. I'll be at ED38 with it, so people can have a good nosey around it. Unsure of what to ask for it. I'm in no hurry to sell but would let it go if someone made me a good offer. Andy, am loving the vRS at the moment, but it dosnt put a smile on my face like the C - its addictive to drive as is the induction noise. :)

I tried this and it didnt do the above. The idle was staying high after a good blast then slowly dropping to the proper level - I discovered that if I pulled the pedal up when it was doing it - that the idle immediately returned to normal, quick spray with some WD-40 and its sorted. 8) I absolutely love driving it now, however I think its time to move it on.....
-
I've got an Octy TDI - just clocked over 2k miles today :D It gets better the more I drive it. The SEAT will rattle to pieces and the mkVI is.... well..... :? Octy FTW

wow. Utterly Amazing. There is no way I could be arsed to do all that unless I was getting paid to do it. I really hope to see it one day. Personally I'd rather spend the money and effort on fitting 4 wheel driving, an r36 lump with two turbos and lots of goodies to make it reliable, but can see the attraction in this.

Hi mate, I have this problem with mine at the moment too. The rpm needle fluctuates a bit and the ecu reports rpm signal intermittent on vag-com. She
