  1. Can anybody tell me the factory thickness of a Vr Head, are they all the same and what would be the minimum thickness allowed
  2. I'm pretty sure any insurance company would be happy to pay out less, if the cost is, say £1500 to repair, say you'll accept £1000 and you'll get it sorted yourself, secondhand bumper and a bottom respray at least in that
  3. Ive got a couple of heads lying Bill if it turns out to be a head issue :thumb right: The head was a spare Lee, so I have the one that came of my car if need be, thanks for the offer though mate :salute:
  4. Unlucky mate, why not speak to the body shop, if your bumper is pooped, pick up a decent 2nd hand one cheap, then the payout could be used to paint any other bits you want doing
  5. Nope  Jims on hols until Sunday, so its just Brian and the other guy, I told Brian to get to as soon as he could as he's pretty pushed just now, but I'm in no real hurry, heads to come back of to see exactly whats going on, pretty sure its oil starvation to the head, we shall see
  6. Superb :shades: as said, the 3rd pic is a cracker :salute:
  7. car-masts-uk on ebay, item 360264497516
  8. Think you may struggle without some arch work, any pics of the rims 8)
  9. Disc size isn't the problem, its the calipers, will depend which ones you are using, I needed 13mm per side to clear mine, which were an upgrade Brembo for a S3 with 323 discs
  10. Nice 8) what are they off, BMW maybe?
  11. Could well be Agra's fault Greame, they did not use new tappets as they thought all was well, when the head was swapped over, the chattering noise appeared, Brian at Star reckoned it was a tappet, so I told them to replace the lot with new, still chattering, it may be that the head has been skimmed to much, this is what they are now going to check, although dealing with a company with Agra's rep, you would have thought they would have checked everything was within the tolerances before going ahead and skimming, I'm only a P&D, so I dont know
  12. The car is in at Star Performance EDIT: they are aware of this as I have just called them
  13. It is a top end chatter, pretty much disappears when idling, they have now done oil pressure tests and all is fine, now talking about taking the head off again :brickwall:
  14. Still waiting Steve, Jim is on holiday this week, so its just Brian and one other guy, he was gonna run some tests later yesterday, so hopefully will hear today  Was hoping to have it back for Kames at the weekend, you going?
  15. Its all bought and fitted, the HT spray also seals against liquids, I pretty much used the whole 65feet on mine, around 12-18 inches left, never thought about copper wire :bonk:
  16. Yeah the search function resurrects old threads! :) I have my 6 branch sitting here. All shiny and new. But I don't know what to wrap it with or whether I even need to. Thought about getting it coated but that is gonna cost way too much. So any recommendations? I just bought some for my 6 branch, I would certainly not recommend fitting it without, it just gets far to hot. Bought mine from here http://www.exhaustwrapshop.com/default.aspx I got the thermo-tec wrap, one at 2" x 50' and one 2" x 15', I also bought the stainless ties and one can of the high temperature spray, £130 all in posted, couldn't find it any cheaper
  17. Aye, cheers Steve, thought it was all straight forward, just change over to the refurbed head and off we go, but hey, its a Corrado
  18. Yep its at Star, been down this afternoon, misfire and tapping only when revved, they are thinking oil pressure problem, gonna check all that now, tappets are all new, no coil pack, I told them to through a match at it :bonk: I should have left it in the lock-up and saved my cash :bad-words:
  19. Car is in the garage just now, they have put it back together, refurbed head with new tappets etc, new plugs and leads, it is misfiring when revved and there is a chapping noise, it seems to sort itself out when left to idle, but there's still the chapping noise, any ideas guys???
  20. :shocked!: :notworthy: :notworthy: and absolutely :shades:

  23. Cmon guys, stop humouring Shaun, his Raddo was a piece of art, the MK5 is a piece of sheeite, no offence intended Shaun, but, with the money you have spent on the raddo over the years and the stage you got it to!! dont get me wrong, I intend to sell up myself 6 -12 mnths and have a MK4 32, maybe charge it, Turbo, see how the cash flows. Good luck with your project
  24. Looks good Chris, Toottoot  its a nice chunky wheel and not to small at 320mm, allowing you to see the dials no problem 8)
