Hi EDSTARVR6we got a forward facing child seat for the rear from mothercare called the BRITAX EVOLVA 123 & it fits perfectly, apparently its specially designed for the 'bucket seat' type, i don't know about from birth but we got it when the ' littlun ' was only a few months old & its superb, cost about £95 ish i think....hope this helps. F240BVV Corrado Press Car - restoration finished, what now ?
toon vw replied to JIMMI's topic in General Car Chat
apparently jimmis got photo's of clarkson driving it -
Like everyone else is saying, the build quality seems a million miles apart in favour of the mk3, i've had both but the mk3 was the 8v which was fine as an everyday car, never had a scrap of bother at all from it, mind saying that i did'nt from the mk2 either, my preference would be a mk3 especially you've remembered its the 16v

F240BVV Corrado Press Car - restoration finished, what now ?
toon vw replied to JIMMI's topic in General Car Chat
Get in touch with 'Top Gear' see if they would be interested in coming & taking a look & a drive 18 odd years on from when they did it originally, its gotta be good press for the corrado in general with it now being a minter plus it could'nt do any harm for the value of it either..... -
well i've just watched it....&.....i thought was the best episode of TG for a long long time, ok no reviews or 'stars' making fools of themselvs in a crappy car but they more than made up for it with belly laughter moments from start to finish, when clarkson was being showered in the car i nearly pissed myself....& when that car salesman pulled a hand gun from his back pocket   i could go on & on but one thing for sure....a definate :fist: to the 'pc brigade'

i was going to say my first car which was a fiat 126 (650cc) complete with holes in the floorpan & clothes prop propping the headlining up aaaah those heady days of my teens.... but on reflection i had a right laugh in it so it could'nt have been that bad !!!! :hic: no probably the worst car i've ever driven was my father in laws cream coloured hyundai pony....what a complete pile of pooh that was
-
that was one hell of a " hill "...... and that noise...wow :-P
-
My vr has done 118k miles BUT have just had a 64k miles engine & plenty of other bits & bobs fitted & its purring like a pussy cat & pulling like a train...at the minute !!!
-
Looks like you gotta a fantastic stance now...very mean, but whats the ride like??? i would imagine it'll be pretty stiff is it?
-
Cracking looking motor mate, i agree about the rear lights aswell they look perfect, the new gear knob just adds a touch of class to the interior (& it won't come off in your hand  ) especially with the chrome clock rings aswell. looking forward to meeting you & the storm at the weekend....especially the storm   :x-mas: Andy...

Hey jimmi just seen this thread, i'm over the moon for ya mate especially as i KNOW this will come out to be an original as possible & will end up being one of the most desirable corrado's on the forum imho, can't wait to see it in the flesh...... whats your plans with it in the future then??? nice tasty profit to plough into your other 'project' or to keep it & take it to a few shows??? And i reckon it deserves a gallery of its own aswell.

why not post something up in the 'meets' section & sort it out properly. Hey jimmi i know where there's a cracking low milage engine at the minute...but i reckon the winnibago could be a good shout  if you fancy it i could come for you no problem or give your m3 an airing & show us what real power is !!!
-
Well....all i can say is, the difference between this 64k miles lump & my 117k lump is just immense, it feels so much more torquey & it just feels generally alot more willing to whiz up to that red line....weeeeeeee  Thanks again jimmi you're obviously a quality engineer & a top bloke aswell.....see you again sometime next year when ive saved enough for a charger  Yeah purpley i'd love to see your motor again, bet its mint again now, you furbed the momo's aswell did'nt you?we'll have to sort some kind of meet up soon me thinks :norty:
