Can one fit a Golf4 Airbag steering wheel in a Corrado ?
mattnorgrove replied to Mawrick's topic in Interior
I suppose it's possible then, how you would go about it though, I do not know my friend! The spline on the steering column of your Corrado would need to be the same diameter as the MK4, unless that could be swapped over, from the MK4 into the C? Not very helpful i know! -

Not sure mate, I'm pretty sure no UK spec Corrado's came with airbags though, so don't know if you could retro fit them really. I assume it would require looms/sensors etc, unless your already has airbags?? -
Walesy, off topic, but what model were those side repeaters from?

i recently bought a retrofit aero wiper/blade on the bay for circa £5, literally just clips onto the existing rear wiper arm and works and looks 100 times better.. Got one of these too, mucho improvement, these are a tenner though, dunno the difference if any between these and the £5ish ones. Link here for you Matt: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-REAR-AERO-WIP ... 7C294%3A50

I think if you'd be better off thinking about cams/gas flowing/porting&polishing. There is also a mod on the WUR which I think Vince at Stealth does which can give some gains also? There's a decent tuning guide for the 16v in the wiki too m8 (which you've prob already read)

Good work on the seats mate, they look very nice. Are you gonna hook the electrics upon them or is that already done?

I'd have to agree, UK spec are 3 position. 1.Off 2.Side Lights 3.Dipped Beam The fog light switches must be plumbed into the Headlight cabling at some point in UK spec cars, as neither front or rear fogs work with the headlights off. HTH

Looking better all the time, the stance from the rear looks fantastic. Low and wide :luvlove: Plate surround looks excellent colour coded too. Keep it up! 8)

That must sound farckin awesome! :luvlove:

Depends on the headunit really, my Alpine has a direct link so I can control the iPod via the headunit (the only thing it doesn't do is charge the iPod :mad2: ), whereas the Sony I had in the valver had a 3.5mm socket on the front of the face, so any generic MP3 player could be used as an "Aux In" source. In this case you'd need a 3.5mm male jack on each end of the cable, a few quid from Maplin's/Egay, or a fortune from Halfrauds. The iPhone can be used in either of the above scenarios though, as it has the same connectivity as most other iPods (excluding the Shuffle, as 3corsa has found out to his expense :( ), or it can also be connected using it's heaphone socket. Hope this makes sense and helps a bit. :D

Superb paintjob, keep the updates coming! Just spent a good hour catching up on this thread. The Borbets look very nice colour coded. Better than the oettingers, they fill the rear arches better being 9", making the most of the arch pulling that's been done. Have you thought about trying them with a set of the flat caps colour coded? Might make all the difference, as you seem unsure about them still. Absolute bargain what you paid for the polishing on them too! Tres cool! 8)

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

Spot on, early have the "hook" type hanger, late have the "bar" type. -
Brawn vs ferrari.... 1-0 1-0, 1-0, 1-0!
mattnorgrove replied to vwdeviant's topic in General Car Chat
Thats all I'm hoping. Last season was, apart from the stewards thwarting Hamilton at every opportunity, probably the most entertaining I've ever seen. Just hope this season puts this argument behind it and produces the same level of drama as last season did. If it keeps up, I think people will be turning off by the thousand. -
Indeed, looks to good to break.

I think the right decision has been reached today. To be honest I can't believe Ferrari et al didn't exploit the same "loophole" that the teams with the disputed diffuser have. Ferrari must have known about this particular diffuser type before the start of the season, but have still used a gearbox to which they are unable to retrofit that particular shape diffuser. Seems very shortsighted on their part. Anyway, the debate will probably rage on for many weeks yet. All i can say is that common sense has prevailed. Too much F1 in recent years has been decided off the track and not on it. It's also refreshing to see other teams doing well instead of the usual suspects. 2p -
£100 seems a bit steep! Only jokin mate, looks like you've had a right bargain. 8) You could have just broke it and made a shedload of profit, glad to see another one being saved instead! :salute:

This just makes me want cream leather even more! Very nice looking C. Good work with the de-rattling. 8) -
The oil sounds ok, maybe a little hot, but I've seen mine at 112/114c when sitting at 90-95mph (private road of course), but the coolant shouldn't be reading that high. Ideally it should sit centre gauge at 90c. It's either a sticking thermostat (what does the temp rise to when sitting in traffic?), or a dodgy coolant temp sensor. Be aware that if/when you take the stat out to test it, then the stat housing will probably break, as they are constructed from plastic, and become brittle with age. Unsure exactly where the coolant temp sensor is, but a search would reveal all. Hope this helps

Welcome aboard mate! It looks like you've got your work cut out for you there! You're in the right trade though, wish I had ready access to bodyshop. What are those side repeaters off? And is it badged 1.8 16v just above them? Interesting choice of mods from the previous owner! :D Looking forward to seeing this one progress, keep the pics coming! Good luck!

Fair play Jim, I'd have given up on that long before you nearly did! Cracking read this thread is!

Sounds like the stat stuck partly open mate. Mine's the same.

Early 4 stud are: 4x100 PCD, Offset ET35, Centre Bore 57.1mm As long as you stick loosly to the offset (+/- 5mm ish) you shouldn't have problems, unless you're going for 9" wide rims, then some arch rolling/pulling may be required. If an aftermarket alloy has a larger centre bore then spigot rings would need to be used to reduce the wheel's bore down to 57.1mm HTH

I think your avatar and sig pic answer your question... :D

Sorry  You going to make it on Sunday to the Derby meet Matt? Won't be able to make it Matt, I'm pre-disposed in Bedford this weekend... :norty: Was going to get the Audioscape install done over the Bank Hol, but a man's gotta prioritise...
