ok been a while since i've asked a question, just been searching for this but can find too much for the VR. I'm trying to remove my Bosch red top's at the moment, could someone please give me a 'blow by blow' account of the best way to change the injectors on a VR (looks fairly straight forward tbh but just don't want to cock it up!) :) I'm also running a Schrick manifold but tbh looks like i just need to remove the lower section of this. cheers Alex.

Jim, probably well worth you looking into a nice 2.5" system through-out, if you're 'friends' with you're local MOT station then i'd go:- Raceland 6 branch (think i got mine off e-bay for £150)....great quality for the money G-Werks De-Cat (about £60-65 - supplied only) Custom 2.5" system of some description (???) all of the above will really help you're engine & charger breathe more easily and in doing so keep the head temps down and generate a few more bhp, i'd give Darren down at G-Werks a call and pop down to see the boys down there as sure he could make you up a nice 2.5" cat-back system. They fitted my Raceland / de-cat no probs and when funds permit i'll be getting shot of the Miltek and going this way myself albeit i'd like 2.75" re: MOT time its really just a case of finding one thats not a complete Nazi come inspection time, as long as my emmissions are within the limits mines ok with me. HTH Alex.

cheesewire did you find it necessary to adjust the brake bias regulator after fitting the kit? i'm just wondering if you still need to do this when running uprated front stoppers too. tks Alex. p.s. looks very smart!

Ralph's VW Corrado VR6 Storm (Mystic Blue)

Fantastic looking Storm Ralph, must admit to being green (or mystic blue  ) with envy! :) -
Thought i'd post up a few pics of my Rotrex install, mechanically she's pretty much there bar management & fueling setup, runs but very heavily over-fueling with the Red Tops in. The chargers a C30-94 only running at 10psi for the mo whilst the wrinkles are all worked out, no cooling at the moment but a water /meth injection will be added very shortly as a temporary fix. A big thankyou needs to be extended to Darren, Rob & Lee @ G-Werks who have put a lot of effort into this car & getting the Rotrex up & running (amongst other things) and generally putting up with me shifting the goalposts more than a few times! :salute: I'm ok doing the more basic stuff like fitting new Rads, Mocals, crack-pipes etc but for the trickier stuff i've relied on them a lot! If there's any interest i'll try to create a members thread with some more pics etc in the next few weeks. regards, Alex Edit: sorry about the shoddy pic quality but took them with my camera phone at the weekend

I had company vehicles for about a year, then bought a Golf 4Mo last year which is a great drive...she was owned by Raj from NS Racing for a bit so she's got a few nice surprises! :D jungle juice is about the same as the Rado tbh, but you gotta pay for your kicks eah! with the way these wan***s otherwise known as labour have screwed our car tax up i don't think i'll be changing the 4Mo for a while as it just misses the new 2001-2007 band? tax bracket.....the one that doubles your road tax to over £400 a year  ....nice one Gordon!

mine was my daily driver for 4 years but the last 2 years she's weekends only being slowly re-built into a Track day tool! :)

104K at present...not bad for an early J Reg VR! :)
-
I really like the combo of the Shrek & 268's gave the VR an added 'bite' and a much more menacing growl! :) did you get Star Performance to re-map her as well Bill?

all looking very very nice Bill, love the engine bay shots! :)

H8RRA- a 'mate' snaps your bottom chain-what do you do?
alex303 replied to H8RRA's topic in Members Gallery
Hi Paul, hows it going mate, the seats are in and look great thanks! i hav'nt had much of a chance to drive it over winter with it being in and out of a workshop but took them down one weekend and fitted them when i was missing the car too much and they really sort out the interior nicely....uber smart! :D re: the Rotrex yep got a nice new C30-94 unit in the end, all been plumbed in and is working mechanically just needs mapping & fueling setup (red tops are in its just running mega rich), the cams are my Schrick 268's which i was using with the VGI already & was loathe to chuck so its all going into the mix for the moment....but nah i'm not up to your standard yet mate as she's only going to be running @ 10psi to begin with whilst we iron out any niggles & issues.....but once thats done well we'll see... :) tbh i'll drop you a pm if you don't mind as could do with picking you brains on the mapping side of things Alex. -
no worries Charlie your more than welcome mate! :)
-
Terrific looking car mate, well deserves the award! that engine bay is just pure porn! :) Alex.
-
tbh sounds like the Silky 10w 50 stuff would probably be perfect for you! as per the post above my engine noise definitely dropped noticeably when i switched over to it from Synta Silver

very nice VR Jim, top colour you've got there! :) p.s. you got round to fitting that BMC yet?
