hi can anyone help? my diavea a/c doesnt seem to be working, when i switch it on norm/max i can hear the change in revs that indicate its taking power from the engine, but the air doesnt seem to get any cooler. Ive been told I just need to get it recharged but im not sure? any ideas? :?

Latest: Just got the insurance estimate back from the insurance company. Details as follows: Labour value £753.00 Paint and Materials £160.00 Number Plate backing £42.21 Rear Bumper £430.00 ABS Sensor £100.00 Wheel Alignment £56.00 Other £96.00 Sub-total £1581.21 VAT @ 17.50 £276.72 Total £1857.93 Not too sure about it at the mo, think that the labour charges are maybe a bit low so Im gonna try and squeeze them a bit and see what happens. :?

Yeah I know, i would have been gutted if they wrote it off, the damage is minimal!! Just waiting for them to ring me back this afternoon with the offer *fingers crossed* I got them to get estimates from VW bodyshop so it will hopefully be quite a bit, I think labour there is £60p/h or summat.

Little did I know that 5 minutes later someone would rear end the car on a roundabout! I'd only had the car 2 weeks which was gutting. Anyway he accepted liability and off the car went to the VW bodyshop who told me that the rear bumpers werent being made by VW anymore and that the car was a total loss! :shock: So... I rang VW in Wakefield when I got back from uni and they told me they had 3 in stock for £479+VAT, needless to say I rang the bodyshop to see what was going on and they told me they couldnt fit the car in now for repair. Anyway, long story short(ish), the insurance are giving me a cash in lieu settlement and I managed to get a bumper for £50, happy days. Car should be back on the road in a month or so. Turns out the damage was purely cosmetic which is a big relief! :D :D

anyone got VAGCOM in Aberdeen? Think I have an ABS fault :(

hi there, Ive currently got a fault with my ABS as the light comes on intermittently when im driving, everyone has told me to get it hooked upto VAGCOM to identify the problem, has anyone got in Aberdeen, that would be great cheers jamie

Okay, so I bought my new vr 2 weeks ago (it used to belong to mtc r32) and ive already started to have a few problems. Not being the mechanical type i could do with a bit of help with diagnosis. Here goes 1. The windows will only operate 1 at a time, seems there is not enough power to support them working simultaneously 2. The ABS light comes on intermittently, on some journeys it will not come on at all and on others it will come on for 5 mins and then go off and sometimes it just stays on constantly. 3. Most concerning of all when I was out it the car yesterday i noticed a sort of loud clicking noise coming from the rear left wheel area. The noise accelerates the faster I drive so It must be linked to the movement of the wheels. It got progressively louder throughout the day so I took the wheel off to have a nosey but I couldnt see anything obvious. Like I said Im not very good with cars as Ive never had the opportunity to learn so any help with these issues would be great. Im not sure if it matters but I had to have the alternator replaced last week (£350 :cry:) so the battery has been disconnected although they did recharge it and ive had the car out on a run to make sure.
