Satin Silver VR6-Ex OSV-Steering/Suspension overhaul 16/04

Lovely looking C, amazing what a difference some new ignition leads and samcos makes to the engine bay! :) -
Why are VRs so cheap at the moment!?
yorkshireone replied to yorkshireone's topic in General Car Chat
yeah I guess so, but its a bugger when you see a C for sale with the same spec as urs for 1k less! -
It might just be me but it seems that VR prices seem to be rock bottom at the moment, loads of the Cs for sale would have commanded much more £££ this time last year, doesnt seem like the VRs are living up to 'appreciating classic' status at the moment, which is a shame! And you would think that with all the Cs you see being broken on all the forums that there would be some scarcity and prices might be on the up :(

i miss my rado :( cant wait to get these darned electrics fixed!

very nice mate, paintwork looks lovely :)
-
have a look on the glass' auto guide website, costs about £2.95 but it gives you a pretty reasonable valuation based on condition, year and mileage. :)

-
Was leaving VW Festival last week when i saw one of the lads taping up the front of his car with some blue masking tape style stuff, presumably to prevent stone chips on the way home, anyone know if its a special tape or where to get it? I want some :D
-
yeah it looks wicked marcus, been to the bodyshop about the bumper but they said it wont be done for E38 so gonna wait til after before i book it in now. Tapsa Finland, i dont have the yellow lights, thats just a photoshop marcus did for me, theres some real pics on page 2 :)

When I bought my rado I was told that because the battery had been disconnected when a new one was fitted, I would need to reset my alarm. Now some people have told me I need to reset through the ECU and others have said I just need to reset it by putting the fob into the dash port? Ive tried the latter but to no avail and ive had the batteries replaced in the fobs to make sure they work, but when I press the arm button.... nothing, not even a flash or beep. Anyone got an instruction manual? :?

Anybody used any of the magic car puncture repair kits/foam,
yorkshireone replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
na unfortunately the puncture was in the tyre wall and they never repair them so had to buy a new one :( -
speaking of vr6 rebuilds, my 'magic black' rado is just about to hit the 150,000 mile mark and im hoping to supercharge next summer. I had it in for a service last wednesday and the mechanic said that the chains and tensioner are in really good shape but the engine is starting to sound a bit 'tappety.' Whats the average price for a strip and rebuild and would it be the recommended thing to do before i start charging it? Oh and where would you recommend for the work, i dont want to have to drive hundreds of miles down south to get it done :?

yorkshireone replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
I used the foam stuff in the pressurised can that inflated your tire and seals any punctures, it managed to get me from dundee to aberdeen without any problems at a steady 70mph, i always keep one in the car these days just in case -
cheers, just a quick update, the rims are away for mirror polishing on saturday so that they are nice and shiny for VW Festival and E38, and just got some new black and silver porsche centre caps 8)
-
Just cleaned the car so decided id take some new pics for your perusal 8) Not sure what to do with the wheels next, full mirror polish or black centres with a polished lip, hmmmm... :? stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfDSC00074.jpg[/attachment:56490] Corrado92.pdfDSC00075.jpg[/attachment:56490] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfDSC00076.jpg[/attachment:56490] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfDSC00078.jpg[/attachment:56490] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC00079 (1).jpg[/attachment:56490] DSC00077.jpg[/attachment:56490]

Well Id love to :) Decided to get a few bits done here and there tho to bring the car up to scratch. Just got Powerflex Poly bushes on it all round (which were a pig to fit!!), and had a full service. Also upgraded the speakers and got a new headunit, the cars done 149,000 miles now so I guess the top end will need some work before it gets charged, plus ive got the chains and tensioners to do before long! I think the charger will have to wait til next summer, unless i get a nice lump for my whiplash claim :) Ill put some new pics up next week

Just got the corrado back from being repaired, so happy. Bloke did a lovely job and only charged me £300, hmm, that leaves me with £1000 left from my payout :)
