Has your 'rado been mistaken for anything?
scarlet_vr6 replied to Stevo-M's topic in General Car Chat
yep that one too, I had forgotten that one :( -
music for this week has been The Cure and Daft Punk albums and In for the Kill, LaRoux and Infinity 2008, Guru Josh Project...

nicely done, certainly looks like you have got a good one! As for stereos, I don't often bother either and I will second Vaughan's BMC comment :D Enjoy!

Tom, I've got a 2nd hand starter motor you can have if you still need one? Not sure what it is like though. Or did you want new?

^^^ ROFL same as everyone else - Scirocco. More people call it that than Corrado, even before the new one came out. Sigh. Also had Corolla a fair few times and a friend of mine insists of calling it the Corroda but I know he only does it to wind me up. It also gets called a Jetta from time to time by another friend who gets my 2 mixed up. Oh well, at least I haven't had Calibra. Yet... -
likewise don't see you either lol. I'm usually mooching around in the jetta now though as the C is in semi-retirement atm. I went to the south coast meet at easter - do you know if there is another planned soon? Been a bit absent from here recently...

very nice pics Nick. Still working out how to use my camera properly so I can take some decent shots lol. I especially like the 10th one above

Saw 3 Cs... couldn't believe it. haven't seen any for aaaages! blue one nr jct 3a on m40 i think (i wasn't driving so wasn't paying much attn to where we were) then Prodigal Son (at least i think it was - K4***) at Botley Interchange abt 5.20 then green J336... in Headley not long after that helpful really as the girls i was with had asked me what a rado looked like...

VR6 South's Corrado History Another Addition p4
scarlet_vr6 replied to VR6 South's topic in Members Gallery
Martin, excellent news that you managed to get the Golf! So you persuaded him to sell then lol! Shame the other one has to go now but looks like a good result in the end, it looks lovely :) -
Yes the Jetta is great! Over 300 miles covered already and I def agree that having a daily is the way forward. Got the log book today too :D Martin, yes I still have the steels - someone drove into and badly dented my garage door so I can't get to the other set I was going to bin and couldn't be bothered to make 2 trips to the scrappie... When do you need them? I'm happy to meet you part way down the m3 if that would help but I'm not around now until next thurs evening..

thanks everyone! Well I've just been out for a spin in the jetta... it's so much fun! Even my friend went on about how cool it is and she's not into cars at all. I am amazed at how quickly we reached the speed limits though. I even treated it to a tank of v-power  thanks so much for this. I got a quote from them online today and then phoned them which was def worth it as they then knocked off over £200! It's a shame they don't cover the mods though so I phoned Brentacre and got quotes from them too - for £50 more I have all mods covered, unlimited mileage and they've protected my 9yrs NCB... think I will be phoning HIC (who I'm insured with atm) again tomorrow to see if they still want my business... Which exhaust have you got fitted? Jim, that sounds great and free as well - result! Not long to wait now  We're just in time to take our Cs off the road before the roads get too salty............ better late than never! hey Kip, thanks for the welcome back!! That certainly looks like a tidy Jetta you had, although I'm not surprised that it was tidy.. I haven't looked at the calendar yet but I might take you and Jude up on that offer - thank you. I'll def be at the next meet Martin, although I might not bring your old car  It's great to have a car which someone I know has owned and looked after and also which so many others have vouched for but now I almost feel more worried about the J than the C  I've had another look at the petrol stops log and couldn't help but smile..
-
I'll look that up Chris, thanks for that :) and I am so sorry too, I'm feeling really bad about that. It must be over 6 months  thanks Jim, I really am chuffed to have a daily finally! I've been promising myself one for over 2 yrs now! Good luck to you for wednesday - what are you going for? thanks Chris and I'll def be at the meet in April. I'm sure I'll be in the rado but atm I just want to drive the jetta, it's such a cracking, spritely car! The Jetta was the 1st car I ever wanted so it's nice to tick that box but it's probably a novelty thing too, so I reckon in a few weeks I'll be keen for an excuse to pick up the rado keys :D It feels very extravagant having 2 cars!

What keeps your enthusiasm for corrado going?
scarlet_vr6 replied to Jim Bowen's topic in General Car Chat
There are so many answers to this question for me. Most have already been said - looks, noise, driving fun, just how different it is, CF and all the cracking people I've met at shows and waved to on the road but like a few others I've been losing enthusiasm recently. I knew I'd regret getting rid of the car so I had a bit of a break. I've barely been on the forum since the Germany trip and I haven't done anything to my car since well before then. I just used it as an a-to-b car for a while. A week or so ago, someone drove into my garage door and now I can't open it. Luckily I was out otherwise my car would not only have been trapped but also damaged. I was horrified but thankful for that lucky escape but now I'm sick that my car is going to have to spend at least 3 weeks outside whilst the housing association wait for the assessor to have time to survey the damage. I think the bug is coming back... So today I bought a daily - ideal timing really. I have picked up a cracking Jetta from Martin (VR6South) and my dad kindly drove my C back whilst I followed in my new toy. Seeing it on the move again was awesome. It just looks so good despite the millions of things which I know are wrong with it and despite it being filthy. My dad even booted it past me in 3rd at one point and it sounds great too. I'm falling in love again and can't wait for better weather and some shows! edit: that was quite a long post - I guess the bug really is back...! -
err yes... my daily is in better condition than my fun car... so glad to have both though and looking forward to not taking my C for granted :)
-
OMG, I thought I had posted that back to you months ago... I'll have a look for it tomorrow evening as I haven't seen it in ages. If I don't find it, I'll replace it and post you a new copy. Really sorry... As for the Jetta, yes I do intend to leave him as he is. Well maybe some forum stickers...
-
