Which is fair, as most normal car owners will go to a dealership and pay full whack for new bits. It won't cross their minds there is an enthusiast website where one can be picked up cheap. But even if it does then they will still have to find a decent sprayer and do all this work off their own back, rather than dropping it off at the stealers and saying "fix it". Although at the time I was thinking what muppet would pay 500 quid for a bumper? :D

Nope, I think Henny is right, though only from hearsay. It's not so much the engine cause they have stupidly huge stuff over there but all the other 'safety' bits that have to be on a US spec car. So they don't like allowing in non US spec stuff without it all. Ah, of course, which is why US rados have the knee banger thingy and silly seatbelts.

I always wanted to do this, but kinda the opposite way, heading over to south east asia...not sure if its possible anymore though, you'd have to take some crazy route to avoid the trouble zones. I wouldn't take my car to the US, I'd wanna hire a Corvette Stingray or something and go for a bit of top down cruising. Henny, I guess if they already have Corrados over there, they can't object? a) yes i would b) seems reasonable c) seems excessive for a bimmer d) yeah, i would absolutely rag the t*ts off it. i'd be way more inclined to do burnouts, donuts, take it into the red revs and the like, in a bimmer or merc than in a ferrari or aston martin. not to sy i'd be dangerous or anything but i'd certainly give it the beans where ever possible. wasn't it Bill Bailey that said "nothing handles like a hire car!" problem is, the sort of cars you are thinking about, while still expensive are not top end sports / prestige cars and therefore people would be less likely to treat them right as "its only an m3, not a 360"...lowering your excess will also make it more accessible to scrotes with a credit card, but as others have said, who has 5k to spare on a deposit for (no offense) not very special car.

Mine was incredibly tight, but did just go on, though it did seem like it slightly pushed the towers apart, changing the camber. But i got the full suspension geo done when I had it on as I got coillies at pretty much the same time, so didn't see any ill effects.

Well, the temps have definitely crept up recently, it never used to run this hot...still doesn't quite reach 110, but living in London and sitting in traffic lots I'm certain its not helping! And no, I don't think its the weather either I just wanna know if everyone's does this or is it an electrical fault somewhere?

My fans come on fine at 92 but only stay on for a short period of time. At first I put this down to the fact I had the bonnet open and it was cooling down so I shut it and let it go up to just over 100. I then opened the bonnet up again, but the fans kept cutting out. I expected them to keep going until the temperature drops or at least stabilises? :scratch: Anyone got any ideas what's going on? I have tried a search but nothing really came up with these symptoms...also I have the electrical aptitude of a gazelle so wouldn't know how to go about testing things so an idiots guide would help! :salute: btw what happened to the definitive cooling guide? i tried to search for it but came up with nothing.
