  1. Saw a dark coloured C with crystal tails going down St Michael's Road in Salisbury yesterday (saturday) about 7pm, think the owner clocked me, but I was on an adjoining road. Also had a nose round that VR6 in Herne Hill, its had a big scrape recently, but only 65k on the clock! Needs a damn good wash too.
  2. Cat D valver....not really worth it imo. You should hold out for one that hasn't been bashed. But, if you really want to, then get in contact with the owner and find out exactly what happened to it.
  3. KERS is what happened to Kimi, plus he was being a p*ssy on the brakes. Good to Massa back among the front runners, but its a pity about Lewis, his car looked terrible!

    first week

i'm guessing the fact you've only just got the car, plus your sister redlining it will contribute to poor mpg as you hoof around in your new toy. as others have said, the mfa is not the most accurate, you're better off waiting till the fuel gauge has hit the red, then brim the tank, see how many litres you filled up with and then measure how far you go before you hit the red line again. as other have said temps sound fine, but check your oil level, sounds low!
  5. No, they will pay for themselves. Oh wait, hang on, the government doesn't actually put any of the money earned from speed cameras back onto the roads, as that's the council's obligation. D plates? CD plates surely? (corps diplomatique!)
  6. err, i used to like them. :camp: even considered getting the 24v v6. glad i didn't!
  7. you're always spotting corrados, its not fair, i never see any! *throws toys out of pram* :D
  8. ok, so who owns L703 ONH? :D As close as you can get to a twenty thousand pound Ferrari yeah i know its a pearoast but i don't think the whole vid was posted before
  9. lol! yeah, they are pretty gash and seem to have suffered from the euro penchant of a bad spray job, it was more the rev counter that intrigued me.
  10. found these on youpoop. any ideas what make?
  11. obd2 is the newer version of a VR that they shoved in golfs...its basically a different ecu, wiring, inlet manifold and throttle body...essentially uprated management to make the engine run better. a chap on here called bigpantsbaby is usually breaking a few golfs and has all the bits and bobs you would need (two boxes worth!)
  12. charger does sound the way to go to me... what work did you have done to the engine aswell if any?? any suggestions where i should get it done?? i dont mind spending a fortune really as you normally get what you pay for... also, ive heard a lot about second hand chargers... does anyone know where people sell these?? or should i just buy a new one?? i got mine from on here, but you should also look on ed38 and vr6oc. here's an example of one on ed atm...you're getting quite a bit for the cash, unfotunately for you, its for an obd2 VR, and all corrados are obd1 unless converted. http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=224950
  13. Quickish reply:  for 5 grand you can do all 3 of those... First you need to assess the current state of your engine. Has it had the chains etc. done? How many miles? Do you think it needs rebuilding? If you want to keep the original 12v then these are all important questions...you shouldn't whang on another 100 hp or so without making sure its in good nick and that nothing will explode first. Poor preparation = poor and costly results. from experience i only know about superchargers, and the rest is what i've picked up from here, but i'm sure more peeps will be along soon to fill in details. 1) Superchargers - you have the choice of Rotrex or Vortech, most people would recommend a Rotrex as they have better low down response, the Vortech doesn't kick in till 3.5/4k revs. I have a Vortech :) This will set you back around 2k ish new just for the charger. then you need injectors, remapping etc...or you can buy 2nd hand as i did and get it all for about the same. check out the forced induction thread in the engine section for a lot of info. 2) check out the definitive 24v thread in the engine section. R32 is quite a new thing to transplant and takes a while, but worth it. other options are available. 4 wheel drive will involve removing bits of floorplan and will cost a lot if you don't do it yourself. not sure about s/chargers but i saw a twin turbo r32 in germany pushing out 750 odd bhp. 3) still a bit of an unknown quantity, but several on here have got them, and its been done lots in the usa. its more work as you will need custom pipework and some form of chargecooler. but it holds more potential for upping the bhp in the future. it is a myth about it being less reliable, pianowire has done 28k miles on his i think. 1 will get you bang on your magic figure, as will 3, probably more. 2 depends on what engine you go for. stealth - most on here think they can do no wrong. some (myself included) have had poor service, but they are generally acknowledged to be amongst the best, and my charger has a damn good map on it, 292 bhp! drop me a pm if you want the ins and outs of my install, i can run you through what i got and how much it cost.

    VR6 Bent Valves

how much does it cost to get a head flowed? i wouldn't need any rebuilding done, its quite a new head.
  15. I love your wheels but are so glad I don't have to wash the buggers! Keep the faith bud, your car looks sick and the upgrades will make a noticeable difference when you drive it...and the motivation will come flooding back!
  16. I'm sure Tiff tested a red G60 on Top Gear?
  17. Nope. G60s are where it's at. Best sports car of the lot. I don't believe you're not just a little bit jealous of the VR.... There's no replacement for displacement.
  18. if your budget can stretch that far, go for a turbo, much more potential for big power later down the road...if you want tried and tested convienience limited to about 350-400, then go charger, preferably Rotrex. I did neither and got a Vortech VF9, which I am still very happy with...but I want more powerrrrrrr :vamp:
  19. Yup, think you're right, valvers are quality to drive, but the first time a VR goes past he'll wish he had one.
