Swompy's Ice grey violet. Now gone to a new home
The_Dude replied to Swompy's topic in Members Gallery
Mmm, nice and minty. I do like a rado in grey. One thing tho, in that first pic, it looks a little lower on the passenger side...was it taken on a hill? I agree with Cazza, I nearly crashed several times in the dark and rain before I got them. -

Any changes to your teams need to be made tonight, and 2nd practice starts in half an hour on the BeebCeeb. -
Its not bonded. Not on my C anyway. You need to take out the lights and its held in place by four very easily broken tabs.

click the link below...i'm at work so can't post up pics.

x2 for satin. its already matt so you don't want that and colour coded looks a bit too chavvy for my liking!

Is it possible to buy new caliper pistons anywhere?
The_Dude replied to Mawrick's topic in Suppliers Forum
It depends which brakes he is going for, as when I went to exchange my Goof 288s I was told they didn't do that for them, so I got them refurbed. -
:D well i was going to abridge it, but it was easier to take a photo!

Ah, sweet. Top work dude, Alpen kick arse. For future reference if you take out the passenger tray and side panel in the footwell then you can haul the loom out and work on it without having to stick your fingers thru a slot. :norty: Its a bit more work to actually get to the bugger but makes it ultimately easier. It also means you can pull the loom down when you put the stereo in...no more bundles of wires!

*scuttles off to consult Hillier's Fundamentals of motor vehicle technology (4th edition)* yep, you're right! hope you can read this, its a bit of an old skool book, but the basics are covered and its very useful.

Cheers for that info Rob, they sound pretty good, plus I guess you don't have to worry about them wearing out in a year or two! How much did they set you back?

^^^^ that's really cool these guys like to give it some, no idea what they're on about or how the "race" works... 3.40 onwards [youtube:29t1ajdn]sXuYftXg2-c[/youtube:29t1ajdn] -
Think I'm gonna take them off next weekend and go back to Speedlines for a bit. :cuckoo:

Can i ask roughly what you had done and also roughly what it cost you? Probably easier to ask what he hasn't had done....   One of, if not the most sorted Rados out there. :notworthy:

How much power? Are you going to do any of the work yourself? New or second hand? How deep are your pockets? :) But I'd say 2 grand at least for parts and remap. Most of the second hand chargers I've seen for sale recently have been going for £1500-2k and then a remap will be needed.

but apart from that, they're identical!

All the ones I have seen are just a big old bolt. Seems a a very cheap solution to me! I don't see why putting an old lambda probe on shouldn't hurt if its not hooked up as it will plug the hole perfectly.

OK, so you get free tool use...say there is a difficult nut on you car, you put all your effort into it, their tool breaks and you break your arm/wrist/whatever. Who's at fault there? Plus I can see stuff going walkies too...
