Cool, thanks for the swift replies...now I'm off to Halfrauds to buy some paint and paper http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=75549&hilit=+orange cos i think it looks good and i've never seen a rado with orange wheels before!

BP Ultimate sucks balls, you might as well fill up with lighter fluid. I've used a few times when I've had no other choice and can't believe how down on power the car felt. Only Optimax or Tesco 99 for me! But then I do kind of need it in my motor!

Hi buoys and gulls, my Speedlines are looking a little tired and since I can't afford/am too cheap to get them professionally resprayed I was thinking of doing it myself. So I was after a bit of advice really from anyone who has done it....your help is very much appreciated :salute: 1. What will I need to get all the old paint off? Wire wheel on a drill or lots of elbow grease with sandpaper? 2. Do I go all the way back to bare metal? I presume so... 3. I am probably painting them orange, will I need primer? Even if I go silver, same question.... 4. Should I sand between coats, if so, what grade paper? 5. Will I need to laquer and what grade sandpaper do I need to get a nice finish? 6. Can I do with the tyre still on, or is it easier to remove it? Thanks!

Ferrari have been spending on the sly... :D -
No didn't see that...what was the program called as it may be on iPlayer.

And their website as out of date as your haircut!  Harsh but fair. My passport ran out yesterday and I realised I have pretty much the same haircut as I did 10 years ago.

Once again, Brits fail to get a result on home turf. Good race directing I thought, lots of scrapping being shown. -
One of my uncles who is into cars insists on calling it a Currada, but he is contender for world's biggest prat and is currently wooing potential wife number 5.
-
An old housemate of mine once stood next to a Rover 220 waiting for me to open the door. I got into my Corrado and considered making her walk :D
-
Check the connections on the back of the dial to see if contact is being made at al 4 stages. Mine works on 3 and 4, sometimes 2 and never 1, but i can't be arsed to take it out again!
-
do you mean the bendy metal tabs that hold the cables onto the box? they will lever off from the bottom iirc, but be gentle.
-
can you take a pic?
-
in a word, yes. in many words, its a complete fekking nightmare! making sure everything works, that the cables are still on the ends of the tabs, that you have not pulled on them as you put it back in opening up some vents, and then trying to get the control box back in the dash without anything falling off..... :brickwall: oh yeah and getting the cables off without snapping the holding tabs is very hard indeed. i was really careful and still ended up snapping one.
-
unscrew the four screws after taking off the fascia plate, and push the left side of the heater box into the dash..this should mean that the other side will now be loose and free to pop out from behind the tabs. it is a bit of a squeeze, but should work. the cables will pop off the ends of the metal arms, maybe with the help of a screwdriver.

New or old interior?
-
If you do buy an Mocal oil cooler, I have some braided hoses for it, I was told they were for a VR when I bought them but when I took it to Stealth they told me they were for a valver....if you want them give me a shout and we'll work something out.
-
sound like the aux water pump? is it a metal cylinder facing downwards with pipes going into and out of it? i replaced mine recently, a new one is about 100 quid from the stealers, but you'll get a s/hand one on here no doubt. i used a new one for peace of mind as the seals had gone on mine. as swiftkid says it does make a noise, but it shouldn't be too excessive.
-
The reason they're rare is because they are fekking horrible! Look like someone dropped a lump of solder on a bit of paper and gave it in as the design.
-
Yuck :gag: looks like they redesigned the Focus, but as that's still doing well, they chucked the Capri name badge on it instead. Funny how the photo of the Puma they posted looks more like the old Capri than the 'new' one! :cuckoo:

Australian Top Gear is about halfway thru the second season if you use bittorrents. They got rid of the grumpy old guy and its much better this season. Still no way near as good as the UK version, but watchable enough. Anyone know when the US version starts?
-
Don't think he's on here, I saw him (again with roofracks) about a year ago heading up to Crystal Palace.
-
That's exactly the reason it was taken off the air all those years ago, the car reviews had become so boring and samey that no-ne watched it anymore. Besides, you should watch 5th Gear if you want reviews, they can actually drive properly on that program. And another thing....you have to pay a licence fee to watch the Beeb on the tv, but iPlayer is free?
