  1. Take the turbo off the Rocco or put one on the Rado, that'll even things out again.
  2. Cool, did he not have a copy himself? Do they still do the mag? It may be worth contacting them direct.
  3. My VR came with some really cack red and yellows, rubbish at cornering but great for bumpy roads. I changed to Weitecs and now I can't go anywhere near as fast on really bad roads, but I can corner better so its worth it to keep them on. I think...I do wanna upgrade to KWs at some point. I think also the lower you go, the more the car will bounce around, as it will bottom out really easily yet still have most of the piston to extend on rebound or if the road drops away. If you have them at half height say, then it has a bit more bump compression, but the potential distance for rebound is half. Make sense?
  4. Well you could always get a bittorrent and download the entire catalogue of your chosen artist...would save you bundles of cash. I'm most certainly not recommending Mininova as a torrent site, due to it being illegal to file share.
  5. You can easily get round that by burning a disc with everything you have bought, then re-import it as mp3 and the protection will be gone. Simples!
  6. As far as I remember you have to first remove the trim round the handle by pushing it towards the front of the car and then pulling it off (or maybe push the other way  ). There are 2 or 3 screws on each end of the doorcard. Also remove the old speaker and there will be another screw located in the speaker surround. Unscrew the door pin. I don't think you have to remove any of the grab handle, or maybe you do...if so, the front will pop off with the aid of a screwdriver (preferably wrapped in something a bit softer so you don't put a small dent in the plastic) and there will be a few screws underneath. Pull the card from the top and it should pop out of the trim that runs along the bottom of the window. It should now lift up out of the door, but is held on with some crappy clips at the bottom so be careful as they break easily. Oh, and you'll need to disconnect the window switch too. Refitting is a bit of a pig, remember to pull all wires through and make sure the window switch can reach or is connected. Also, tie a long bit of string round the door pin so you can pull it thru the hole, otherwise its a complete @rse to line up. Think thats it but I did it on my VR last spring and on the valver a few years ago so its a bit vague and muddled in my head. this shows for an older car but is basically the same http://www.torquevw.com/how_to_guides/corrado_removing_pre_1991_doorcard/corrado_pre1991_removing_doorcards.shtml With regards to the crossover..er dunno! I run my sub directly out of the headunit as it has rca connectors that run straight to my amp, which has a built in variable crossover. hth and is correct! :D
  7. Ohhh SNAP! That's a good deal matey  They are a piece of proverbial to fit, remove the doorcards (one unobvious screw in the speaker hole), remove the old pods, offer up the new ones so they fit, mark holes, drill and screw on. Simple. The input will come from your stereo, the tweeter is the high crossover, sub the low. EDIT beaten to it!
  8. Sure I saw a photo on here of a chavved up C with a mk3 front end. It looked bloody terrible!
  9. Cool, will you be using both sides? I wanted some of these too but at 120 euro its too much for me! Even one would have done...
  10. I'd still consider replacing that plastic part the selection cable clips onto, it may be breaking up underneath and that's what lead to the nut undoing. I've seen loads that look fine, but when you remove them they are on their last legs, if it breaks the car is pretty much undriveable, it's almost worth keeping a spare in the car :) That's exactly what happened to me and left me stranded with only 3rd and 4th useable. Part no 1J0-711-256. Gruvenparts.com do a steel replacement but its 86 bucks and given the strength of the pound atm its a bit of a shocker.
  11. Surely metal expands as it heats and will put excess pressure on the ceramic coating?
  12. Tuning Werkes in south Croydon...really nice guys (Rueben of Eurotec fame, but he is 100% more reliable than his ex-partner), friendly etc. and they do a lot of internet orders for which they are great, its just the servicing sometimes takes the biscuit. They've usually got quite a few cars knocking about and on some occasions I have booked my car in, taken it down in the morning and then rang them at 5 only to be told, 'oh we haven't looked at it yet'. What's the point of asking me to bring it in that day then? :brickwall: Not sure what their labour rate is, think its about £60p/h maybe-ish sort of roughly. So, in summation - buy stuff from them, just don't get them to fit it! :D edit - I use them cos I work in Croydon so can drop my car off in the morning and pcik it up when I finish, something I couldn't do with the Phirm!
  13. I think I'll be giving these boys a shout at some point too, fed up with my bills having 7-8 hours of labour on them no matter what I am getting done with my present garage.
  14. Yeah, I kwew they were standard VW parts, but being twice as much as the 'Rado one I wondered if they were actually worth it or not? I may just bite the bullet and do it anyway, the front needs tightening up a bit imo.
  15. Hey dudes, I'm thinking about replacing/upgrading most of the front of my VR...has anyone used these before? http://www.fourseasontuning.com/?product=308 Basically they're the TT/R32 control arm bushes that fit the Corrado but are made of a more solid rubber to take some of the slop out. Any ideas chaps? Good or bad?
  16. Ditto that...you need the front callipers from a VR6 Golf, not 16v. There's some for sale atm on here.
  17. depends how much you wanted to offer :D supposed to be having a guy pop pver this week for spoiler bits so as soon as ive sorted that ill update you with regards to the spoiler bolts :salute: Show me some pics dude and you never know, I may make an offer. I've been after some for a while and am considering putting up a wanted thread.
  18. Boo, was hoping you'd get annoyed with them and sell them to me!
  19. Loving the ADIDAS advert song too. Beggin'
  20. Megadeth... I've just found an old LP in the loft: So Far, So Good, So What 8) Quite a good album that one. I still listen to Rust In Peace and Countdown To Extinction on a very regular basis, but stopped listening to Metallica about 3 years ago, not even the old stuff excites me now like the 'Deth does.
  21. I was waiting for that... Metallica = :epicfail: Megadeth =
  22. Most of the music I like doesn't have vids but here we go with an eclectic mix: Hallucinogen - (good progressive psy-trance driving music) UNKLE ft Roots Manuva - GDMFSOB (turn up that bass) Iron Maiden - (Dianno rules!) Mephiskapheles - Bumblebee Tuna (stupid ska song but you'll be singing the chorus for days) Femi Kuti - :notworthy: Satyricon - (stompy metal) and finally Bugsy Malone - (and it all comes back to you ra la la ra la la la) oh yeah veedub21...i got a fever...
  23. could be, whip off the trays under the steering column and have a look, there should be a u-joint near the floor somewhere iirc?
  24. 1) he's a mod who likes to keep things tidy by telling you to use the search then locking the thread. which is fair enough if you don't want 100 threads all asking the same thing. 2) baja beach buggies 3) KW's yes if you're rich, wietecs or similar if you're not. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=39334
