  1. I've come to the conclusion that my matrix is fajiggered and it'll soon be time to destroy my dashboard in my quest for unfogged windows. Sooooo...where's the best place to get one from? Stealers or pattern part from GSF or equivalent? Cheers.
  2. what a tough decision he has to make... :censored:
  3. Yeah, I've seen their stuff too...have you seen the chrome wrap they do? It looks wicked and would be killer on a rado. 8) Was considering this instead of a respray, but it seems like its just covering up the bad bits...if my paint was good I would think about one.
  4. i do know that! i also know its in the bodyshop getting painted... now tell me something i don't know! :D i must go to bed, i've had a few and am feeling argumental lol
  5. The Beetle is the best selling single model car with over 21.5 million sold between 1938 and 2003. The Toyota Corolla has sold more units but has gone through many generations. Ferdinand Porsche essentially stole the design of the Beetle from Czechoslovakian car manufacturer Tatra, who launched a lawsuit. This was put on hiatus when Germany launched an offensive against Czechoslovakia. It seems only war will stop lawyers. After the war, the lawyers crawled back out of the woodwork and VW paid Tatra 3 million deutschmarks in compensation. (i knew the first fact but stole the second from wikipedia so you never know, it could be tripe!)
  6. Didn't they do a partnership with Toyota and produce a Hilux copy?
  7. Keep the trivia coming! Tho I know the 206 is ripped off from an ad I still lolled. On the timeline of VW history on the official website there is no mention of the Corrado whatsoever. Its like they're in denial man....considering they brought it out on the 50th anniversary of VW too!
  8. No, but I have just had 288s put about 2 weeks ago, so I wouldn't expect it to be low. But I will check tonight. Thanks.
  9. Ok I'll try that. Yeah, its so bright on hillstarts I have to put my arm at the top of the wheel to block off the light otherwise I'm lit up like a xmas tree and can't see!
  10. OK, so you if you can keep it VAG related that would be good...lets have your little known car facts. I'll start off... Did you know Volkswagen have their own bank and personal sort code in the UK? Its based out of Milton Keynes.
  11. This one has got me really confused, this sort of thing is like magic to me and it seems like the hamster that powers the electrics my car is misbehaving. The LED's in my clocks have been replaced with some superbright blue ones by the PO but recently I've noticed that the handbrake light light up (sic) when the handbrake is off. Its weird, it used to shine very very dimly when the brake was off so I paid it no mind, but the other night I saw it getting progressively brighter according to what I was doing. These photos were taken at night btw. How it looks when the handbrake is on...I'm blind! When I am at idle or have my foot on the brake with the handbrake off. Over about 1.5k revs or sat at idle for a while. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :salute:
  12. Wasn't it in Car magazine's 25 cars to drive before you die? Or something like that.
  13. Looking XXXtra Strongmint fresh there buddy! I like the Porsche style exhausts, very cool for a 4 piper 8) What wing mirrors are those?
  14. I love Prossies and would have one any day of the week. :D  Cossies look like nothing really special but I'd still have one!
  15. Definately check on the plugs mate - that has happened to me before. Hit my horn and the foglights went on, switched the foglights on and the horn sounded. That's just about the funniest thing I've read for a while, it really tickled my fancy.
  16. Had some bloke in a TT pull up next to me at the lights in Streatham last night, he looked the car up and down, gave me a big grin and a thumbs up and then sped off to rejoin the queue. :thumbleft:
  17. Its the VW motorsport version of a Schrick variable inlet manifold. (i think)
  18. I had that clip go on mine one day round at Toad's, he asked to have a look under my bonnet so I tried to open the bonnet..nothing then thunk. Oh bugger.... Fortunately the man is a leg end and sorted me with a cunning piece of rope to open it up. Anyhoo... Its by the handle in the footwell.
  19. The good thing about having a powerful car is pootling along until some muppet in a Fiesta tries to take you on...then its down a couple of gears, on the gas and watch him get smaller in the rear view mirror. 8) That's why the Cossie hoofed off!
  20. el presidente? nice pic but seen it before. as for chop shop, the guys are a bunch of amateur bodge jobbers...cutting springs, not bracing the shell when they chop out huge sections, suspect looking welds...scary stuff! it was fine for bangladesh, but not britain!
  21. If I wanted to go 10 psi on my V9 would it just be a case of getting a smaller pulley, or would I start to need looking at gasket spacers and charge cooling? (i do have a water injection pump, but its not quite hooked up yet...long story...)

    Bonnet Bras

afaik they stop it flapping about at higher speeds. i'm a bit puzzled by these..why do people deem it so important to protect the bonnet, but leave the biggest surface area at the front - the grill and bumper - exposed.
  23. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3147&p=28527&hilit=+remov%2A+front+bumper#p28527 BAM! :D Remember to support the engine unless you want it on your face
