  1. They were on the car when I got it, but you can get them from here from just under 30 squid. There's a few other places on t'interweb that do them too. Cheers for all the positive comments guys.
  2. A guy stopped while I was under the bonnet a few weeks ago and said "That is a llllllovely motor" I failed to mention I was waiting for the AA to come give me a jump start however.
  3. Aha! Controversy! :D Cheers Toad. Yes the wheels are big but I have come round to them after seeing them more and more. I think you will too CorradoVR6-n.o.s :D
  4. Is there any chance of being added to the list too. I'd like an all-sing all dancing one please.
  5. Well after nearly 1000 posts and this being my second 'rado I thought I should get some photos up. A bit of history first: In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. No, wait, I meant car history. The first ever car I had was a battered Mk1 Goof and I was the 14th owner. This is the only photo I have of it, when it was parked up and dead. Note the ironic Max Power sticker in the rear window. It struggled to get to 60. After that I had a couple of Astras, but then came back to the fold. My first C was a 1.8 valver that I had for about a year till someone went up the back of it when it was parked and wrote it off. :( I loved that car, it was perfect, everything worked and the previous owner had replaced all the suspension parts about 6 months before I got it so it handled like a dream. Oh well. Now I have a 94 Moonlight Blue VR6 with about 115k on the clock. I've had it 6 maybe 7 months now. I haven't really changed anything yet, apart from DDI dials, geting rid of the colour coded eyebrow grill for a de-badged black one and a nice stereo. Its lowered on some unknown yellow and reds, but early next year the savings are being raided and some nice coillies are going on. The alloys are 18s and i think they're TT wheels, definitely VAG anyway, and I like the modern look it gives the car without making it seem modded. The lights on the rears are getting changed at some point for some all red or maybe smoked, I'm not sure which yet. Other plans are to change the gear knob for an OE one (done), steering wheel, get a cat back exhaust, BMC (done), bigger brakes (done)and (in my dreams) a supercharger (and done! ) and respray. Here she is, in a rare state of being clean. And now with forum sitckers!
  6. Niiiice. Liking that small number plate. 8) Are those reflectors or indicators on the bumper?
  7. I think its the bushes. Had a similar thing on my *shame* astra. Never got round to replacing them, but you could see they were shagged. Have you had a look under the car at the bushes? If they are really knackered they will be splitting and 'leaking' out the sides.
  8. Might sound a bit odd, but mine did the same thing a few weeks after fitting DDI dials. So i took out the clocks, took off the front, plugged em back in and made a note of the idle speed, switched off, pulled off the needle then put it back on again, gave it a few nudges to make sure it rose and fell again, then plugged in back in and hey presto! Working dials. God knows why though. The hard part is getting it all back in again without the needles falling off again!
  9. Most of my posts i look back at and wonder why i wrote what i did. but here's another getting me closer to 1000. 8)
  10. Have you checked all the wiring after the temp sensor? I guess getting out the multimeter and checking everything should be your first step?
  11. Is that the one above the fusebox to the right of the steering wheel?
  12. Rat rod: Hot rod: Notice the subtle difference?
  13. Yeah, that's the look they're going for, but not being 50s lumps of pig iron it doesn't really suit euro styling. As vwdeviant said, its all about the 'straight out of the barn' look, all bits must be as rusted as possible and OE. It must look like no work has ever been done on the body, as its all about the engine. That rod is madness, doesn't even come up to the guy's hip!
  14. I really liked these OZs I had on my last C. 15"s, but not sure what flavour though. And the ride height is ludicrous too.
  15. I got 2, they're overrated, I'll give you one if you want. In my dreams.
  16. Oh, and if you want to save the planet, look at jet engines and the amount of crap they throw out. Then look at how many flights there are a day. :(
  17. Unfortunately, public transport is cack. Well, its not really, we have an extensive railway, bus and tube network here in London, the major problem is its already at bursting point and too expensive. £2 for a one way bus fare even if you only go 2 stops? Don't even get me started about the tube fares hike. And its nearly always late too. I have to get a train that is half an hour earlier because the one that I could get keeps being late and making me late for work. Rant over. :D As for the fuel prices, I only use the VR at the weekends so it doesn't hurt too much.
  18. If its any consolation I was about 2 inches from being run over this afternoon as I crossed the road to get to the VW garage. Idiot just gunned it towards me.
  19. VW Golf Mk1 1.0. Red W reg. Feel the power! Vauxhall Astra Mk2 1.4. White D reg. A heap of poo. Vauxhall Astra GSi 1.8. Met. blue L reg. An even bigger heap of poo. VW Corrado 1.8. Red H reg . 8) VW Corrado VR6. Midnight Blue M reg. 8) 8) Only 5 in 11 years, but driven a helluva lot more.
  20. No pics here, but i am a huge fan of the Toad, he'll always brighten the day, especially the turd warfare part of his brain - which seems to be dominant!
  21. damn, i have a new 205/45/16 sitting in my cupboard gathering dust. thought i could be a good samaritan.
  22. V-goodness every time. It may be more expensive but its much better for the car, I only ever put in about 20-25 quid a time so it doesn't feel so bad, plus you're not lugging all that extra weight in fuel around.
  23. Only had a C before this and a Mk1 Goof as my first motor. It had loads of dents, only a radio and protested over 60, but it was way cool. Mk1s rock. 8)
