    Yeah, but there's more cars that are easier to steal round here....a soft top Mk2 springs instantly to mind. I seem to remember Which? doing a test and it came out well.

    The thing is skinnyman9000, after you have sorted the brakes, you will have replaced most of the major components on the car so surely there will be nothing more major that could go wrong? Or am I just being overly optiistic? :lol: But, it sounds like you have well and truely fallen out of love with your C, so sell it and upgrade to something more modern.

    I didnt think they were. Ah, apologies, I must be getting confused. Anyway, a lot of people have got Weitecs and rate them highly and I think this is what I'll be going for in the next few weeks.

    Plus you can download maps from the TomTom website. The olds have a 710 and the US/Canada map is about 70 quid - but they're having a half price sale at the mo so its only 35. If you're going to get one, I think sooner rather than later would be good as the sale ends on the 31st hth

    My mum got the new TomTom for Xmas. I was very impressed with it - very easy to use, clear maps, it shows you the route before you set out and gives the option to change it and it beats seven shades of colour out of my RoadAngel satnav in all arenas. Except it doesn't have TIff Needel warning you about safety cameras! Go for it! Just remember the only gripe I have is the traffic updating works through your 3g mobile phone.

    Fuel economy a bit better, but being in London I spend quite a lot of time standing still, which affects the average. Bonnet cable is still broken, I went to VW today, but the parts place was shut. Must get out of bed earlier! That bit of rope works brilliantly though, thanks a lot again. Jim.

    Well, after about 10 mins of me trying to screwdriveer the bugger off, I went to the garage behind my flat to see if they had a portable angle grinder. They didn't so I walked back to my car, only to see my keys sitting underneath my car! I had been fiddling around under the bonnet and had dropped them under the engine. I'm very surprised none of the radge b*stards round here spotted it - they were under there for a week! Phew!

    Basically, I've been a master fool and lost my keys. Not a problem getting into the car as I have spare, but I have a crappy steering lock (more as a visual deterrent than anything) that now has no key. I'm not sure of the make, but the style is like this. Any ideas of how to get the thing off with minimal effort? I was thinking a combination of screwdriver and hacksaw. And maybe a hammer for good measure. :D EDIT - and the car is parked two streets away so no chance of power tools.

    I hardly use my rado and constantly think of selling it, even though I've only had this one less than a year and in the current market I'd lose a shed load of money considering what I've spent, but every time I get in it and drive it, I put up with the niggles and it convinces me to keep it a bit longer. Hondon't do it. :lol:

    I had a 1.8 valver and loved it, but was forced to buy a VR6 after someone wrote it off for me. If only I had the funds for a charger. :(

    That's funny, but i wouldn't recommend poison, because it will then die somewhere in the recesses of the dash, and rot! Get a mousetrap and load it with butter. Snap! No festering corpse to worry about, only having to pick it up and throw it away.

    Probably went the same way as the convertible. Sounds like a cool book but surely there's a limited market for it?
