  1. Might sound like a really dumb question but I've noticed I have less boost (from the gauge) since I've fitted the front mount. Is this normal? I've leak checked all the joins and they're all fine. Any suggestions? Cheers
  2. I made the pipe's up myself by buying silicone bends and alloy pipes off the net as the guys who were going to make them quoted 7 weeks!! These were just pre bent ones that I've chopped to suit 8) I am however waiting to get a price from another comany for a pipe that will go from the outlet of the intercooler to the T/B which will include a slot for the CO2 pot. It also look slike my wallet isn't getting a rest yet either, as I have just purchased a set of Borbet A's  They're in need of some love but for the price I'm paying I cant complain!! More pic's to follow 8)
  3. Inside the mechanism is a pair of micro switches. Mine had a similar problem and it turned out to be the microswitches had clogged with grease and gunk. Hope this helps and good luck!!
  4. Pipework wise I used 2 80mm 90' bends, , reducers and a 51mm 90' bend onto the intercooler, then a 45' bend on the cooler outlet, a straight pipe, reducer and another 45' bend. Thats just a rough list, I had to cut some of them to get to fit nice a tight, but relatively straight forward :D
  5. A57 Snake Road through derwent, not driving quick through there but some lovely corners. Look forward to it everytime I go biking up there.
  6. Finished Fitting my TD5 FMIC and took it for a little drive as it's been sat for a few weeks.
  7. Well after a day of tinkering I've managed to finish fitting the TD5 intercooler. climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfDSC00988.JPG[/attachment:7e625sgk] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC00989.JPG[/attachment:7e625sgk] I'm gonna take it apart again tomorrow to make sure everythings fine after driving it up the road, so I'll be able to take pictures and confirm the pipework. So now thats done I can move onto the next stage.. DSC00990.JPG[/attachment:7e625sgk] TT half leather seats. An ebay bargin as I only paid 57quid a complete interior, front seats, rear seats, all the doorcard, and loads of other bits of trim!!
  8. looks cool as f***. Really need to get mine back on the road.
  9. I've drilled a hole in one of the pipes and sealed it in there, probably not the best method but I was slightly drunk when I decided it :?
  10. Still waiting for the final pipe, looks like it might be another week or so :( However I've just taken delivery of my half leather TT seat :D managed to get a bit of a barin with them too, £57 for front and rear seats, all door cards and other bits of random trim including the glove box :D So at least I've got something comfy to sit on whilst I'm waiting for the pipe

    JMC's G60

That looks sweet, looking forward to seeing it fitted 8)
  12. The intercooler is pretty much finished, just waiting for the final pipe to arrive before I can finally finish it. But hopefully by the time I've finished it my new TT seats should be here ready for me to make a start on them 8) When all the pipe works finished and sorted I'll get more pictures and spec of which pies I've used for those interested.
  13. Looks like it's going to be a really nice fit 8) I offered up the slam panel last night and it looks like I might have to cut off one of the eyelets where the slam panel mounts to the car(the one beside the battery) and also have to cut off the intercooler front mounting points(the drop down thingys), but I'll post up pictures of this. Other than that It's looking good, just waiting on the arrival of my other pipes now to get it finished.
  14. his is in more pieces than mine, though he's fitting a 2.0l 16v engine at the moment 8)
  15. He's pretty understanding, he's just gone a brought a mk1 golf GTi 8)
  16. Yer I'll keep plans of the pipes I use. I think it's going to be trial and error as I dont think a TD5 intercoolers been fitted before (I couldn't find it on a seach). Looking forward to see if I'll notice a difference in the performance.
  17. Started to fit my new FMIC today, quite pi$$ed off as the alloy pipes didn't arrive and probably wount be here til new week. Decided I'd take this opertunity thou to get it in place and begin to mount it on. passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfDSC00943.JPG[/attachment:2ycdiqvj] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfDSC00944.JPG[/attachment:2ycdiqvj] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC00945.JPG[/attachment:2ycdiqvj] DSC00946.JPG[/attachment:2ycdiqvj] So I'm now waiting on the rest of my pipework to arrive before I can continue
  18. I think I'm sticking with the RSR, just get a reducer onto an ally U bend, cant really afford a ralle Ubend at the moment. I'll knock up a step by step guide, and possibly get a few sets of pipes made up by this firm round the corner if people are interested?
  19. I got a Landrover TD5 intercooler as they're pretty thin and from a quick measure up I shouldn't have to remove too much off the front of my car  I'll be sorting the pipe work out myself, wait til I get the intercooler mounted and go from there, but probably buy some ally tubing and bends and sort it from there, I've also got a really good engineering firm round the corner who'll bend the pipe to shape for chocolate biscuits!! To remove the front bumper; If you get under the car and look at the front beam, at the end of the beam there are 3 bolts in a row, going front to back of the car, it's the front and rear bolts that need removing( 17mm). DO NOT REMOVE THE SMALL BOLT!!! as it holds the beam to the car and your engine will fall out! I stuck a jack under there to help support it whilst I was under there, but any more questions, just give me a shout.
  20. Well thought it was time for an update: After some drunken Ebay'in at the weekend I removed the front bumper to make sure my new FMIC will fit. It's looking like I mat need to dig out the ginder  so this is how it looked at the weekend; 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC00926.JPG[/attachment:32h9pxb7] DSC00925.JPG[/attachment:32h9pxb7] Then it will be gone with the standard seats and in with the TT's, and hopefully some new wheels too as I'm annoyed at cleaning the BBS, so watch this space 8)
  21. took the bumper off to make sure the TD5 intercooler I brought off ebay last night whilst drunk will actually fit  then changed the oil, filter and plugs.
  22. Right I need to find the print out for sure now!!
  23. About 300lbs/ft I think, not sure off the top of my head. I'll try find the printout.
