DB7 V12.....worth it though to hear the soundtrack from the back of it :D
-
My missus has just got home a bit shaken after clipping a pothole in our golf. I've just had a look and seen I'm now the proud owner of a knackered tyre thanks to a bulged sidewall. I've taken some snaps of the hole and damaged tyre, but can you claim for tyres from the council like you with alloys? Does anyone know the procedure for making a claim? :help: What makes it worst is that the tyre is only 6 months old :censored: Cheers Slim

G Evans!! Thats me  but seriously, why

Been a while since I've updated here. Not much has changed really accept the TT seats have been sold to make way for some cloth Recaro's  Thanks again Baz (bristolbaron), the seats are awesome and good luck with whichever direction you take with your new interior. I've got a set of removal tool, it's basically a some big sockets with reversed thread tapered on the inside, so as to tighten it it actually locks then undoes the stud. Picked these up fairly cheap from GSF I think. Or the hammer and socket method usually works :D
-
it's not so much lag, but you'll lose a bit of "punch" if the intercooler is too big as your then filling a bigger space, the ebay on looks like it'll work too though.
-
To be honest anything will fit, it just depends how much you want to chop off the front of your car. I'm not sure how much room you'll have as I have a normal, non air con rad so I perhaps had less room
-
I cant remember how long the rad is, I'll nip out in the morning and measure it if you need to, Yer the whole front end unbolts, takes about 20-30 minutes to get bumper, slam panel and lights etc off.

2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC00946.JPG[/attachment:1qm4zl3m] DSC00956.JPG[/attachment:1qm4zl3m] These are a couple of pics, it's fairly slim, about 40mm I think  I know it's thin enough to fit between the rad and slam panel without chopping anything off
-
It is mate, thats why I went for it. I picked one up for £30 and haven't had to chop any of the front of my car off fitting it. It seems to be the perfect fit, wide enough to clear the rad and thin enough to fit in the space.
-
I fitted a landrover TD5 intercooler, big enough and fits a treat without any cutting. Might want to look at the Merc sprinter one too, or perhaps a universal fit

That cog pops out, just ease it out and source a replacement. I broke mine when I replaced my heater matrix :?

Show us your Daily Driver....Corrado or other
Slimg60 replied to til2143's topic in General Car Chat
I've got a MK4 GT TDi as a daily although I'll be back in the rado soon when the wife changes job and looses her company car -
When I changed mine I left it running for a while and still no hot air, til I reved it slightly and then it was fine. Good effort though changing the martix, I know how your knuckles feel :salute:

Windscren seal?

Black with a polished lip 8)

Fitted my recaros
-
Bristolbaron aka baz, your a star :salute: Recaro's are mint and thanks for bearing with me whilst I packed shoved everything in the car, cant wait to get them fitted now
-
It's difficult to say if it was over night, the car did less than 1000miles last year and most of these were only to take it out for a bit of fuel and to keep the wheels turning. I'm getting a little over 200 a tank, but used to get more than this, nearer 250-300.
-
Thanks for the responses, I've checked around already, lambda wiring seems fine and the temp sensors were changed not so long ago but i might replace them all to see if it helps. The only thing I found was the earth strap on the throttle body was disconnected but everything else seems fine

Since fitting the TD5 FMIC I've noticed that my car has an unhealthy thirst. I haven't been driving with a heavy foot either. Someone I work with suggested that it's because my chip is for the S4 charger and pulley and that the new intercooler has upset it. Is this true? If it is can i get a generic chip for my set up to save my aching wallet :( I haven't adjusted the CO2 pot either since fitting the intercooler, does this need setting up? I'm really desperate as it's getting to the point where I may need to sell for a cheaper to run :(
-
awesome, I love it when people do stupid stuff and someone takes a picture
-
They're not a direct replacement. They're fitted on the TT runner, which are bolted to a bar fitted into the corrado runners in my car and also bolted to the floor at the front of the seats. I'll try and take some pictures as it's pretty hard to explain.
