  1. Are all Corrado windscreens the same, such as a 16V model would fit a VR6? And, can the seals still be bought from the main stealers?
  2. Everything you need to know about fitting 5 stud hubs. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=220814
  3. I'd like to take the passenger door, "Corrado" badge, lupo wipers if still available and tail. Can collect all but will need you to hold till paypal payment Tuesday and I'll collect weekend after?
  4. After rear tail and passenger door, I don't know if yours are different to my '89 16V??? Edit: Just checked around as far as I have found the doors and tail are the same and so will be fine, can you post a pic or describe condition, ideally rust free in prep for a respray. Cheers
  5. Can you see if the passenger door is still available please?
  6. Needing an early passenger door in decent rust free condition. Colour or scratches of no consequence as I am having the entire car resprayed but the one I have is too rusty for my liking, neither do I need door linings/glass or any fittings. I am in Perth, Scotland so one up here somewhere preferred or somebody willing to help with courier.
  7. Received my Vibra-technics mount today, thanks very much.
  8. Definetely a good place around Perth for you, I'll get a contact number for you tommorrow.
  9. £80 by paypal gift still has a fee and would send you just over £77 to you, is that ok. Happy to do bank transfer if you wish to get your full £80?
  10. Hi, would you take £70 posted for the Vibra-Technics mount?
  11. Hiya, looking for a passenger door, bare door only as I need it for a respray the condition not too bothered as long as it is rust free. Would like the number plate light from the tailgate too? Regards
  12. If a larger MC is needed a 25mm version can be fitted. The master cylinder is made by ATE, VW# "441 611 021 a" brake master cylinder for 200 turbo/200 turbo quattro. Couldn't say if this is useful for the upgrade being discussed but useful part no. if anyone wants to increase the MC.
  13. Got mine thanks very much Arrived yesterday, I only noticed when my 3 year old ripped open the envelope and threw them at me
  14. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a3b4 ... r-swap.htm About half way down the page is the 25mm master cylinder and part number, its not cheap new about £145 imported from America IIRC but they do turn up now and then.
  15. So shall an upgraded kit which offers a larger 25mm rear to replace the standard beam and a not so big front 22mm move the car's handling to more prodimently understeer than at the moment as we are increasing the differential of rigidity between the rear and front than standard set up? Or in short if I'm happy with the degree of understeer already would the upgrade kit not create more?
  16. Many a lesser man has quit and left with nothing, in the face of unsurmountable odds well done
  17. Tandino, there's truth and sense to all you say. I'd go as far as agreeing with you too. For the sake of negotiating a deal from the garage for SimonG it is necessary to put forward the other side in detail. You'd appreciate that the point of wether a driveshaft should snap or not is in legal terms more an issue that would require VW specification and real life testing to actually prove, legally, no disrepect to you and despite the fact that I completely agree with the generally accepted truth that they don't just snap but even your extensive experience of what they can withstand is small when in context with all cars and driveshafts on the road, unless someone has a poll of how many people have snapped driveshafts in life we could argue whether they do/don't, can or can't snap. SimonG it's unfortunate that the work is done to repair the car, in most cases this is the reality that we just have to move on, but, as you say use as much as you can from this thread and people you know to put a good case forward in writing which they can't ignore and you can keep pressing them, perhaps there will be something of courtesy from them in the end. Good luck
  18. Both sides are credible, a previous issue, long term or short term, means the snapping of the driveshaft was not the fault of the driver. The driver at the time was an employee of the garage who was employed to take care of your car and therefore they are liable for damaging it. All that can happen now is to litigate the best solution, they will wish to offer a lot less than you expect and you of course want it completely resolved in quick time without cost to yourself which is what your rights all about and trading standards are there to assist in your fight, but, to get everything you want often takes a longer period of time than anyone really has the time to for (except the garage) and may only be resolved in court. My 2p's worth is that they wouldn't be able to prove that your car's age, or modifications caused the break, indeed the words on a page of how this and that and next thing have caused it may sound credible but in truth it is speculation and cannot be proved (in your case) without several thousands of pounds of official testing, and even these tests are subjective and can still be open for interpretation. Has been mentioned near the start of the thread; This fact is un-deniable and despite all the words and technicalities that may be slung around this is what they did to your car, fortunately on this point Trading Standards would be 100% behind you. My advice is be nice to the customer services team, but only to make them work for you. Go in prepared with detail and phrases regarding the legislation surrounding this case. In most national companies the customer services team have to mop up the mess that local, and often sloppy, managers make in their day to day trading. They find it easier to side with you, a regional manager will probably feel powerful and un-reasonable but in most cases they can be over-ruled by the central customer services team who wish to maintain the companies reputation. Hope some/any or all of this helps Good luck
  19. Some links from my favourites, http://wiki.the-corrado.net/02a_manual_ ... s_etc.html http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100300 http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115595
  20. For what it's worth, I had a KR 1.8 16V with 4 branch manifold, Pipercross HT leads and a Pipercross Induction Kit make 149bhp, add in some of the fettling you've mentioned doing to get the 147bhp you've already reached and the healthy gains you're looking for aren't too far away. If I remember correctly there might be a ceiling limit to how much power you can get from K-jet, standing ready to be corrected. :) On the other hand with a blank cheque (not my cheque book) approach my new engine is a KR 16V, running on twin 45 weber carbs, balanced blueprinted, lightened, high lift cams overbored from 1.8 to just under 2.0 puts out 198bhp, but for all the money thrown at this engine (not by me) you could afford to buy more power in my opinion. Loving the garage, and the engine bay looking nice and neat bud.
  21. I'm putting back in a KR block 16V engine to my Corrado and have purchased a new solid front engine mount, a new Febi gearbox mount and am considering what to do with the rear. After breaking the drivers side driveshaft (twice) on track days at Knockhill I've heard that side to side (lateral I think) movement of the engine while riding the car over the kerbs on track could be the cause of breaking driveshafts. If true I'm looking to improve the rear engine mount and am thinking of 1. A non-hydraulic mount (rubber sits vertically) and packing it with conveyor belt rubber (??) or squirting into it "tiger weld" or equivalent polyeurathane. 2. Can I squirt into my current hydraulic mount some polyeurathane to stiffen it? 3. Don't have any funds to spare on a professional/competition mount so open mind on other options.
  22. I have these wishbone polybushes for Golf 2/3 and as I was offering them to corrado16v18 under the impression they also fit the Corrado could somebody confirm they are suitable please, PolyRACE code on them is 064.
  23. I like the resto path, apart from the core engine, drivetrain major underskin stuff the body, interior and general look of the car is remaining as original as poss. well everything in the looks dept apart from the ride height tbh. I know, I used to love coming back into the livingroom as the car was right outside the window in the driveway  Great timing, I see the CCGB Scottish Road Rally is coming up for you DiElBramz :)
