  1. I had pressed plates from dubmeister for my old 16v, had no problems with them as they have the bs number on them. Looked really good aswell, i'd get some for my VR but selling it.
  2. So since i've decided I need to sell the vehicle,a few 'niggles' have appeared! One was the oil pump, the car decided not to start when Ross took it to work, we thought it might be due to the vehicle not being used much (low battery) as I'm trying to keep the miles of it at the moment. I went to rescue him tried to jump start to no avail..... hmmmm called out recovery they didn't have an idea. So we got it recovered to our local friendly vw specialist in Basingstoke. He diagnosed that the one of the valves in the oil pump wasn't working, something he had seen on his own VR6, apparently these can get clogged up etc. So we got this changed with a genuine part, I was surprised that this was quite resonable on trade at approx £100+vat then fitting , all running as it should :) He then mentioned that although the alternator is charging, it wasn't quite charging enough. Que me bagging a favour from one of the techs at work on a saturday morning to fit a new alternator, we got him to fit some new exhaust rubbers aswell so this has resolved the exhaust knocking. I then had the tyre guy look at my tyres - two new front tyres being fitted tomorrow. He then got a small pot of paint made up to the paint code for me from our smart repair guy and touched up some minute paint chips. All in all its been a busy few months, on reflection given the extra bits and pieces that have been done I'm going to put the price back up. Whilst I do need to sell it, I have spent a fair chunk of money in the last 6 weeks on it and it doesn't seem right to give that away in reducing the price. I'm also convincing myself not to sell it lol! Anyway just a quick update :)
  3. Ok it's been up for sale for a month now and still hasn't sold!! :( I'm getting major grief from the other half about it. I know it's a buyers market, I'm going to drop the price which means I'm taking a lose but really need the cash for house purchase. Anyone see anything glaring obvious why no-one wants this car?
  4. mines for sale if you want a black vr6 with heated grey leather :) Shameless plug I know! Welcome to the fourm :)
  5. Bless him.... He's got good taste in cars :)
  6. Agreed! My vr6 does better in fuel than my 16v did! If fuel is the only reason to go for 1.8 than really think about going for a VR. Although not sure you'd find one for £750 that you could run for a year without needing some sort of repair.
  7. I've now been forced to put the VR6 up for sale due to funding a house purchase , I'm absolutely gutted but Ross has made me! :epicfail: I've posted up in the For Sale section and detailed most of the work been done to it, most of you will obviously know it's history on here and how good the car is. I'd love to see it stay within the Corrado Forum, and continue to be looked after. LauraJ
  8. Excellent!! Can you let me know payment details etc :) Thank you Laura
  9. Yep well up for a convoy! :) didn't realise you were in Basingstoke :)
  10. Well Ross spent all morning checking things over with the immobiliser and various other things. And it started! Think it may be a dodgy connector somewhere... Oh well it's back on the road. :) Andy CDs are in an envelope and ready to be posted on mon! Really sorry about that! Also quick question which I keep meaning to ask, does it have/had an uprated headlight loom in it?
  11. I'll try this first as you know the car better than I do. did anything happen like this with you prev? Rob tried to find your thread whilst we were looking at the car. Funnily enough I was reading yours a few days ago thinking what a nightmare.... agghhhh!
  12. Would a worn switch not fire the starter motor? Laura
  13. Hi all Need some help, vr running absolutely fine yesterday evening no hint of trouble. Went out to it this morning and it is just turning over and wont start. Luckily enough I work at a dealership that has a tps as part of the group, other half suggested getting the ecu and fuel pump relay (109 and 167) as these were clicking. Got these, fitted them, no better. Tried using a jump pack and jump starting it, still nothing. Ran vag com on it no fault codes that relate. Pulled one of the spark plug out and grounded it to check for spark. No spark. Plugs was dry indicating a lack of fuel. You can hear the fuel pump making a noise.... really stuck as need this to get to work. Anyone got any ideas on how to get this resolved. Incidentally tried the other key as thought it might be a immombliser issue, still nothing. Someone help, the other half is giving me grief especially as he didn't want me to get another C! thanks Laura
  14. Good Good :) can anyone scan it in?? Yes i'm too tight to buy it!
  15. Just from personal experience when thy change the clutch ask them to change the clutch release arm at the same time for the sake of £10 it's worth it. About 4 hours labour for a clutch change I think
  16. Just cleaned the leather interior ad put a barrier solution on it. Smells really good. Borrowed my step dads merc leather cleaning kit and although doesn't do a deep clean as such. There does seem to be a bit of a difference :)
