  1. got to look around this when it was at players show last year, the work in it is fantastic :-) amd yeah, if you see/hear it launching downa strip near you it sticks with you, v v v fast... for a mk1 shed
  2. i have a crane this end to put it into the your vehicle, if you have a large estate/4x4 at your disposal then you can fit in the back of there, or a pick up... just not in the back of a corrado  i think you can hire them, or it might be worth putting a wanted post up to borrow a crane off someone in london nearby for beer tokens maybe? just give me a pm when your ready to sort it out and i'll send you my details cheers andy o and its really not that hard, it takes an hour or so to take the front end off then i found the exhaust manifold bolts the biggest pain but they came off, then its just a case of disconecting the driveshafts from their gearbox flanges, undoing the rear mounts, ensuring all waterway/fuel lines/oilways have been removed and blocked off to minimise leaks then lifting it out, takes a few hours but easily done in a weekend!
  3. ok, i'm in bedford, where abouts are you? I'm around in the eves this week apart from wednesday and the weekend up till midday saturday till monday as i'm going away for the weekend
  4. i have a spare vr engine that was running strong before i ripped it out to go r32, you can have it with 'box for £400 or on its own for £300 if its any use to you? car had done 122k, fsh, i havent replaced the chains and tensioners but it certainly seemd like a good engin, i put 17k on her in 2 years and the only issue was a new set of ht leads and inlet temp sensor. The engine is out and available asap so that could be a v cheap way to get running again?
  5. wow thats some serious damage! If the car only stands you at £750.... why not break her and make money out of it then start again with a clean shell to get resprayed and rebuilt - there seems to be lots of shells going spare recently on here then you could rebuild it as a rotrexed wonder for minimum cost?
  6. i think some spacers will be needed but only small ones, if thats the case i dont think it'd be a problem!
  7. they stop a heavy r32 v v well so the corrado'll be transformed 8)
  8. yeah they fit behind some 17's, been meaning to mock mine up for a while but not got round to it - worth noting though that from mk4 to mk5 r32's disc Diameter increases by 10mm ish so i'd imagine the calliper sits further out. Will be sorting this out at the weekend on my BBS RC's so will look to post pics up, just concerned about the distance between the front of the calliper and the back of the spokes, different wheels will allow it mk1 TT 6 spoke 17" wheels fit, but thats all i know of atm
  9. I dont wanna say no but wth the height of the back of the seat it'll be crucial where you put the pivot as too far forwards the back will probably hit the ceiling!
  10. Just looks a bit chavvy in my opinion, if it is not actually a GT3  looks like a fella i used to work with car, although his was a c4s with the same kit and wheels, i'm not a huge fan of the rear spoiler but in the flesh they look great! and if its porsche fitted you'd never know that it was an add on :D
  11. Lol - i'm on first name terms with the parts guy at the bedford vw dealers, he even recognises my voice on the phone  Soemk parts i always prefer to buy new, like exterior trim etc as it fits properly!
  12. I've got Recaro SPG Replicas in Carbon - Recaro didnt make the Carbon Pole Position then as those were the ones i was really after. They are V similar to the Pole positions, some pics on this thread when trial fitted into my C with full leather interior http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=78802 Worth mentioning though the aftermarket Pole positions are whorter backed by a few inches as opposed to the ones fitted in the mk1 TT Quattro S, also fitting is a pita, i've got the fixed side mounts as i modded a pair of standard subframes so i could fit them and they ended up to high and to far forward
  13. wow that leather cleaner really works - turns the front seats into RS4/6 ones
  14. try insuring it as standard and wait 3 months then insure it with a specialist? O and I'm 23 now but when i was 22 i insured my C with alot of mods, some of which i didnt get round to doing. when you come to reinsure just insure it for what your feasibly gonna do in the enxt year - i paid out an extra £100 to insure my carbon seats that never got fitted :(
  15. whats the problem exactly, is the broker that insured your swift via AF refusing to insure the corrado therefore you have to go through a different company? i can only imagine this is the case else they'd be able to transfer the policy? I had this problem with changing my policy i have on the C to my lowly golf GTI 8v, they wanted hundreds more for the last remaining few months as the company specialised in corrados no golfs, bloody annoying! I'm see if you can call HIC ask for martin, if he's busy leave a message for him, as said above they are a sister company and he might be able to get to the bottom of it! - he was v helpful when i was insuring my C so i'm sure he'll help!

    camber

front wishbone ball joint plate... 3 small bolts per side allow the ball joint to move in and out of the wishbone, take the car to a 4 wheel alignment specialist and get the car properly set up - it makes a world of difference!
  17. Competition is the mutts, you can have off the shelf or built to your own spec.... but I've just looked at the price of the 3 ways.....nearly £5200!! Sorry, I wasn't aware you wanted the Clubsport for a specific reason. Do they include a solution for the camber issues with synchro conversions then? yep mk3 golf vr6 syncro ones... but looking again i dont think they have any adjustability on the rears looking on venoms site, they sell clubsports for the mk3 vr syncro but when you look at buying jut the top mounts they are only available for the front  - i'm hastily looking into it atm as i need some quick as to get the chassis rolling when the floor goes in next weekend and i'd imagine there'll be a delivery lead time of some sort from the fatherland! I was picking v3's because the car when i'm finished is not going to be the same weight balance as a mk3 vr syncro with all the changes i'm foing and in aC body so was hoping to get some friends who are ride and handling engineers to help set the car up right (i hope!) hmm frustrated now as all syncro conversions seem so suffer this low beetle stylee negative camber problem and i want to enjoy the car wthout worrying about the tyres shredding or the inner lip of the wheel getting damaged if i get a puncture! o if competitions are that much they can wait till i win the lottery and i hope they do an R8 version!
  18. Which are just V3s with stiffer springs and optional alloy top mounts. Ftw, KW competition, or better still, AST 3 ways. kev - what do kw competition off then? - i was goign to be ordering clubsports because of the negative camber issues you seem to get with the syncro conversions, i was hopign that might help to solve it if not i'll have to mod the trialing arms and use an eccentric washer on the pivot bolt - not ideal! sorry thread hijack!
  19. rob - i did a 90 mile commute every day in mine and found it ok, yeah they're hard but softer than my spax ones on the golf and the composure through the bends i thought was very good they are cheaper because of the materials used, the stock parts appear to be identical in shape and design, looked at v1's and gt's seperately bu never side by side, imo £500 isnt a small amount of money to spend on new coilys, i spent out on cheap £300 ap ones for the passat cos i just wanted it lowered with a soft ride o and v3's? clubsports ftw
  20. soudns like the place to get your engine from dude!
  21. if your only doing road driving go for v1's or even weitec hicon gt's (same but painted weitecs as opposed to 'inox' stinless stylee kw's) you'll save youself £100 ish and they are v good imo for a straight out the box fit, adjust your heigh and forget type kit. I had these fitted with kw front and rear arbs powerflex bushes, 312's at the front and 280's out back and dispite only having 200bhp with the bmc and magnex (ish) it embarrassed so many newer faster quicker machines in the small amount of time before i took her apart again i'd recomend them!
  22. i've not taken the syncro floor apart completely, just enough to replace all the panels removed, the chassis leg extension panels, side 'wings' behind the wheel arch and rear box section has been kept with the x member and everything on the underside kept in place. I was hoping it could be fitted like this but it looks like i may have to remove one if not both of the rear corner panels to squeeze along the vehicle - seems to be easier lifting it into the ccabin area and then sliding it towards the back! I'll give you a text later to work out what time i'll plan to be at the unit and i could pop in to yours on the way home (seeing as i'm passing :D ) if you want to come and have a look i could give you a lift down there?
  23. yeti

    15'' on a corrado?

... all standard vw wheels on the rado were 15"... but neils give you an idea what a lowered one looks like, plus look up "the dude" ? his is sitting really well on 15" compomotive wheels
  24. like this :D looking forward to seeing the finished product and hopefully in the flesh if your going to any summer shows?
