have you seen those camber adjusters you can get on the dutch build website, do you know it anyones had success with them? - gonna put an order if for the brackets next week so was thinking of those as well!
-
v v nice man! - did you get it done locally as i will need one done some point in the summer :D
-
same over at gaydon jim - up the fosse and by southam as well... pointless! :cuckoo:
-
15mm hubcentric per side (sometimes refered to as 30mm per axle) will sort you out :D 17x7.5 et 25's tend to sit much better imo
-
   i've filled a double unit, my loft and a garage loft with parts for one car - i'd need an entire barn!
-
nice one rob! - if you need any help i can try to be of some use :D

Do all that and we *may* buy it off you! Just need to talk her indoors out of wanting either a mk5 or A3 ATM! :brickwall: Oh and she would have let me buy the "Players taxi" RS4 as well... if only I'd known! :bad-words: If i'm putting another £1500's worth of parts into her i wont be selling for a while mate - but i'd prefer to sell it as is as it seems a bit of a waste as i may as well start with a new one... and i got offered a low mileage vr with a head gasket failure for hundreds last night :) Yep its been i bit of a pain locating the bits but i think i was v lucky that the right parts came up at the right time... i need to order the dutchbuild brackets (used to be dutchdub but they've changed their name) this week really as well as the coilovers so i can start to trial fit parts as soon as i sort the floor.

I rent a double unit on a farm close by as banging/welding/grinding/swearing etc might piss the neighbors off a bit

late model mk3 vr's are 288 mate, all vr C's came with 280's :( The wheels are off a p1 imprezza... but i've been wondering what the offset is as my scooby splits have got the tiniest amount of room between the back of the spokes and the bolt face :(

i liked the black ones  looks bloody low but at least you dont hae to worry about a vr sump! -
Still for sale technically but no ones biting and i may be dreaming but imo 2k for a v v well sorted mk3 with all the toys and a special edition seemed fair but with this crispy crunch all i've had is two calls/messages who've never called back. So me and my dad have had words if no one wants it by the end of summer he's gonna buy it off me in a few weekeneds over winter i'm gonna transfer my 2.9 vr/box/shafts etc from the C + engine loom, use my polished inlet manifold i've had sat in the garage, bmc cda, new full stainless exhaust thats in the loft, the kw arb's off the C, the 312's and 280rears and the weitecs - nicer ride than the spax rsx kit thats on there then i think it'll be a very cool little gti 8) The passats sweet as with 18's v comfortable, but tires are v expensive compared to 17's, i'm runnning BF Goodrich G force profilers as i wanted a decent tire to feel the road so therey're not cheap but those coupled with new front wishbones, new topmounts, new discs and pads and the ap coilovers make it handle really well for a barge and its still good on the motorway!
-
had the golf for about 5 years and it needs to go to fund parts for the C! But the passats ps rack broke a seal and died on wednesday and despite managing to drive to work and up to blackpool and back on friday the motors now shot so its a bit heavy to steer with big 18x8.5's on the front and a heavy tdi engine on top! o and also... not my driveway unfortunately but the parents house... need to get my own place but its cheap to live at home and the economys rubbish :D
-
didnt touch the corrado today... but i do now have a fully detailed golf 8) ... also nipped up the slight play in the rear offside bearing and took the induction kit off and put the airbox back in and a new panel filter on (£4.80 from halfords - bargain!) it now no longer sounds shouty but still pulls really well!... o also found the joys of aircon :D so i will be using it this week  DSC00964.JPG[/attachment:1nbpevum]

x2 - left hand thread on that... i made this mistake and almost damaged the door skin thrying to remove the bolt by doing it up!
-
syncro subframe and floor picked up from cubed - phil - on here, thank you! blackpool to bedford, 3:15 on a friday afternoon and i didnt break the speed limit! a painless drive! it looks pretty manky surface rust but after attacking it with a wire brush today - shes solid 8) DSC00952.JPG[/attachment:1dcscb7p] o and i'm a v happy bunny as the rear floor is complete with x member then it has everything needed to install the rear end (apart from the frame monts but hopefully will be getting these shortly) rear beam trial assembled witht the mk3 syncro arms before i cut it to pieces and weld on the haldex brkts, 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSC00956.JPG[/attachment:1dcscb7p] should have probably left the frame mount bushes in even though they were past it but i was determined to fully strip it of everything so it can be blasted and forgot! :camp:

so's fun/laughter/good times if you read the newspapers! :cuckoo:
-
Lovely looking car! - looks almost new! - is it v low miles as i was looking at my original vr wheel today and its soo worn! Love the wheels and the interior and the stance looks just right! The wolfsburg edition badges mate.. it wasnt built there like the golf, i'd either smooth them out and have no indicators but in the bumper or put some ones to match the american ones 8)

a/c refridgerant is highly carcinogenic (cant spell!) and i think technically illegal to vent into the atmosphere as its a green house gas, new systems use a different refidgerant with a green dye in usually so you can spot leaks, this'll go everywhere as its pressurised... i made this mistake on a modern car recently and covered the entire engine bay/me and the ground in green gye, wash it off anywhere quick iif you come into contact with it

not raising it. Although i am considdering selling it and putting it back to standard, purely cos i'll make more moeny out of the bits than i would as a complete car! z3m will be towards the end of summer probably, its all hinged on what the job situation is like at the end of the year and if there's an work available for the next. like i said i was/am in a grumpy mood this week and the passat failing on wednesday was the final nail in the coffin. I am aware of bmw prices and their labour and process costs make vw look like the aldi of the supermarket world.... but the car looks really cool!
-
no like i said i dont wanna give up - the fun is in the buiding and who knows it might be fantastic to drive compared to other newer cars and i might wanna keep it but i sure as hell wanna finish it and find out! like the new title says : In a grumpy mood ignor me! lol
-
rough times with vw? passat since xmas front multilink suspension arms driveshafts belts tensioners and pulleys alternator waterpump steering rack pas pump thats all i can remember for know! The Vr was fun but i cant remember the last time it worked as i wanted it too either! - hence looking at a newer car
-
It will be at edition this year! thats my goal anyway yep - dont know if its credit crunch or what but considdering the new price they are reasonable now and alot of car for the money but tbh its all based on wether or not i fit! - i'm gonna try and pop up to a dealer close to me that has one in stock to see if i like it, fit in it and ultimately if its that quick compared it has woke me up to the fact i houldnt be fitting a cage and ditching all the seats though as i wont be the only one who'll drive this car - the next owner will!
-
yeah i dont know just a melencholy day really - still wanna finish it. Not getting proper cold feet - its still someething i really wanna do for the fun of it but thats probably what apeals more - building a factory feelign car by hand! But i think i'm swaying more to the fact that i dont really wanna be driving a corrado anymore (runs and hides for cover! lol) not m3 but something with the same engine 8)
-
Well it hasnt really been long but i've been doing some thinking and although it'll be a lovely car when its done i'm not sure i can be arsed with the r32 project anymore... the sensible head has come on with avengance and i cant help thinking i'm just burning money with this project! i'm looking into another german company's 3.2 engined cars and they look so much more refined and equally as cool, i know they'll cost twice as much than this car has cost when i'm done but at this rate i may well end up doing the corrado just to sell it :( Wonder what the going rate for r32 4x4 rados is!
