Well they really are getting silly cheap now, saw a nice condition one go for 900 a few weeks back! log onto http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/ and there'll be all the info you need on there... plus an idea of just how you can play with it! The basics are that it has a 2.8 audi v6 engine about 170ish bhp can come with leather and alcantara trip satnav cruisecontrol etc, the worlds your oyster atm as theres so many people hit by the credit crunch and with delaers now offering buy one get one free on new cars the value of older thirsty cars is sod all :(

glad to see you only associate with other blackberry(ish) cloured vehicles  ... she looks like a beauty though, i used to work for a little engineering firm where between the owner and the md they'd had every cossie powered car available when they were new. Didnt believe them at first them they pulled out a photo album... amazing! And i guess insurance'd be the same as trying to insure a new evo nowadays. O and i love the spoiler :camp:

if i remember right transporters are 5x112, but which transporter is it and what wheels?

I remember being a kid buying max power with this on the cover if i remember right and being blown away! - although it was in the days of bright pink escort gti's with wrc kits on them only pic i can find of the orange then as pink I like it... and i hate bodykits! - in the same way i love the look of eric's (tempest) rocco with a reiger kit... works well in an old skool 80's way, and i do love the black, If i had the money to be buying another project corrado then i'd considder it... sling a set of super wide 80's wheels on it (diablo wheels maybe) and a turbo kit of the 16v then you have super 80's coupe that'd go as much as she showd!

i laughed more at some of the chavy comments :-) love cossies though glad to see a civic be brought down a peg or 2!

Pah! if vw's hit like every other car manufacturer atm it will be delaying and cancelling projects atm so i wouldnt hold my breath!... call me a cynic but just my 2p! :? that pic looks awesome but i remember that floating around when the new scirroco was rumoured, looks the business though

Pirelli PZero Rosso's 225/40/R18 - Any good??
yeti replied to sprinterVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I'd fully recoment BF Goodrich G Force Profilers, i have a set of 225 40 18's and they really are superb -
have a search around the forum as there have been lots of these threads with lots of pics and opinions in that will hopefully help you decide

The whole lots from an 03 plate mk4 R32 Stu, i will be installing the whole car loom, i was considdering installing the dash as well but i quite like the corrado's dash and i was thinking of just fitting the climate panel into it with the mk4 clocks, column and ignition barrel etc The spaghetti mess will be layed out in my loft this week and labelled across the next few weeks so i know what i'm dealing with! - its gonna be a steep learning curve cos i havent done alot of car electrics in the past!... But i thought with running the whole R32 drivetrain setup as well the loom'd be a good idea, at least i should be able to get rid of the dim C headlight problem

Just a minor update The corrado has been mot'd last saturday (passed first time! :D ) so i can drive it straight away once the conversion is done! It has now been tucked away in my unit to be stripped out, today i only had time to strip all the interior and seatbelts out but friday afternoon i should be able to get the front end off and engine removed ready to remove the wiring harness and fit the mk4 R32 one... happy times! [total hours spent to date 30] o and i say 'fit the r32 one'.... but this is the pile of spaghetti thats going in! he he..fun! all for this!

Yep i know there are 2 switches, i've had mine for a few years. I suggusted another switch as there is a grid of 4, - switch controls both front and back - just the front - is a light - is a blank You could either change the front & rear as you wish or what i was trying to get across was to change the blank for an additional single action switch (theres enough people breaking cars atm to get one for not alot) to control the rear then you dont have to remove the original switches and use the blank space for something

Thanks very much fellas :D v helpful! i was gonna just prime them and paint them but this seems the best way forward! Yep i was very lucky, trying to get info on the wheels before hand was difficult so thought they where just alloy... ho hum they fortunately seem ok - i'll have a look around for a plating company round here then, chromate.... How thick is this coating? is it like a paint or is it like anodising (the part of the wheel i was trying to polish is a massive centre nut with threads that need to stay clean) thanks again :-)

I recently found out that my new splits have parts which are made of magnesium alloy, i have the rest of the wheel painted and the dish mirror polished but i was hoping to polish this other piece and i was wondering if its just wasting my time? - i heard you can polish it if it contains less than a certain amount of mg in in but unfortunately theres no way of finding this out from data sheets as the wheel in question is v old. At present they have simply been chemically stripped of their paint and are in a grey cast fiish (smooth cast) and I have had a go at polishing with autosol, it does produce a shiney ish finish but it looks alot like pewter in colour, is this the best i can hope for?

Sh1t! - i know it doesnt help but sorry to see that dude :pale:

i dont know is the short answer, in theory you could trace the wires, disconnect it and get another switch and puti it in the spare space to contol them independantly but I'm not sure i understand why you'd do this? The rears are there for safety, purely to help you be seen in foggy conditions, as are the fronts (lets be honest innmost cars fog lights do sod all to light the road!) so whats the harm in leaving them on??

favorite colour combo atm is aston martin green and anthracite wheels the same as a dbs... lovely! if i ever sprayed a corrado a non original colour it'd be that! :luvlove:

Just a quick point, i ran 215 40 16's of 16x7's (bbs rxii's) as that is the tire size that came out of the factory for a golf anniversary (Rolling radius 270mm) and the mk3 vr's run 205 50 15's from the factory which is the same as the corrado vr (rolling radius 270mm), are your current tire sizes not too big - 205 55 15 = 278mm static rolling radius are the 15's your runningn from a mk4 as they tend to have 55 profiles on a 6.5 rim

Unfortunately not a good story but took 8weeks to get me a full set of goodrich brake hoses when i was told they were on the shelf and the service when sketchy. they then sent the wrong ones and when sent back didnt refund the postage. Maybe they are better in person

Sorry jon but he's got a point! Mine had 107k on the clock when i bought it. To date the list of parts replaced on mine through necessity are, suspension struts and springs - swapped for coilovers top mounts at the same time in above cost Rear beam bushes £ Front antiroll bar and drop links (did rear as well) Front and rear discs and pads (upgraded these as well) New brake lines front to rear as well as braided hoses Servicing Side bolster and seat repair New alarm probably just over £2.5k in 2 years... not bad at all really! - the expensive stuff is what you want to do to make it look nice!
-
the chains cost alot in labour mate, the engine needs to be hoiked out and then worked on and refitted, as for 35k... wow, that must be a fantastic looking car, you got any pics?
-
just rebolstered my standard leather new drivers side and centre, v v supportive now! I'm 6'5" and 17stone and find them fine but i have fitted a 300mm wheel which slightly affects the view of the dials I have the seat all the way back and down and then with a gansta lean... so i can keep my head off the roof  maybe your seats are just worn out? - mine were 15yrs old so understandable!

Not quite sure what you mean..... if you mean on the front of the rad then no it won't. The main fixing lugs are on the rear (engine side) of the radiator, the front only has small holes. Let me know what size fans you want brackets for, choice of two 6.5/11" or 9/11" Mr cheese/piano/trip/fuse bloke. Stormcharged VR. Leon. 9/11" Heresites. Think this needs shifting into the for sale section, wasn't quite expecting this much interest. Need to read up on how to do that though..... Please put me on the list! good work there, very neat little bracket

Thanks for all your ideas gents - in the end it was just the dashboard fuse needed replacing then cured the funny idle and lumpy running, its now mot'd and back on the road... Mods Please Lock

Good Point John, will go get some octane booster tomorrow - doesnt explain the lack of instrument illumination - the mfa contol wont work either when you press the stalk button :(

HELP!!! I have the C booked in for an mot tomorrow morning and after finishing odd all the repairs needed after it had been standing unstarted for 5 months i started her, let her warm up for 15mins until the water temp was 80 and the oil was the same, took her for a drive to check she ran well. Fantastic for 5mins, took her up to 90ish and back down, not a problem. Then it started running funny and as i got to my drive she died... any ideas? any help would be massively appreciated
