What are the plugs like? Are they oiled up?
-
Thats what I had on the green VR and I thought it was a great Combination, in fact it was spot on for road driving. The guy that bought my old car is maybe putting coilovers on and if he does Im buying the Koni's / H&R's back. How did you get round the decat for the MOT? I tried the "this car never came from the factory" line but the MOT'er just said he went by car age.

Mint Mk2 8v?

What manifold is that? Who did get the turbo through? I asked on the FI VR thread about lines etc. Some good info here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27844&start=1110 Ive used the speedflow lines and fittings and they have been fine so far. Same cant be said for other bits though.

Cheers mate, its a compliment alright as the Integrale is one of my all time favourite cars. Just one of these things, isnt my fault as far as I can see. One step forward and two steps back as they say.

Took some photos last night after giving the car a clean. Major fubar today which Im not happy about, not saying anymore till a few phone calls are made tomorrow.

Well I met up with the troops today. Was a good day and Im sure all enjoyed the roads, it was wierd looking in the mirror to be followed by another 4 Corrado's. Weather was stunning and good company. I left them walking round the "ship thing" in Dundee and headed home. Got a nasty present when when almost home though :( . Some pics of today. Not many as I was too busy driving. -

Those GTR's have been fettled. This is what standard against standard is like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzNtQyEp-ME I'll be honest Im still not sure on these things yet, no denying the ability of them but I think Id be going for some Stuggart machinery with my money. -

Meeting up with the troops tomorrow. Weathers looking good. -
Ive never noticed a real difference running between the normal and higher octance stuff on any of my cars or bikes. Had this debate with a guy at work was bricking it when the V-power recently ran out as he said his standard S3 would run like crap on 97 . Surely you only need to use it if you dont have knock sensors and the car is mapped to run with that rating of fuel. Otherwise to me it shouldnt make a markable difference.
-
Ive done that on a bike, dont know if Id like to do it on a Mk2 or Corrado though
-
Nope, I take it you have a set?
-
At least there different, never seen another Corrado with these. Id be tempted to keep the dish a brushed finish and get the centres a very subtle light grey colour.

Took it for a decent run tonight and turned the boost down a little to around 12psi. Still not pushing it but everything seems fine. No oil or coolant leaks but by christ does that silicon spray stink to start with. It does say cure to 400F on the tin so my oven didnt quite do it. It smokes like a bastard to start with as well but thats all gone now. Water temps dont seem to have risen that much and they soon come right down when on the move. Will do some more miles tomorrow just to check its all ok but Im like a pig in shit at the moment . Really want to get it on the rollers now to get it running just under 400bhp.
-
Mmmm, not sure they suit the Corrado, more of a Mk2 wheel. The other are better Id say.
-
Is the turbine going on?
-
Pretty sure all are ET60 then the RH specific adaptors work as mentioned above. Should be fine with a 5mm spacer behind the spacer which will take you back to ET35.
-
 Its all back together, few little niggles but seem to be sorted now. Downpipe is not 100% matching the turbo v-band but seem to be ok. Coolant seem to be circulating fine. Went for a little drive and all seems well, its a lot smoother than before and sounds evil and that was with on light throttle. Will get some more miles in tomorrow night to make sure all is ok for meeting up with Wendy etc on Thr. One thing I was thinking about is do I have to "run in" the turbo? Never seen anything about this but thought Id just ask.

Deal fell through on my part. There still available if anyone is interested, guys looking for about £600 on VR6OC with a few other tasty parts.
-
Looks good but why the early grill?
-
Winter project, they just happened to come now for sale. With the turbo that going on it would be a shame to not make the most of it. Will run it on low boost for now then when the cars off the road over the winter get the pistons on and turn the boost up, a "safe" 450bhp would be nice  . Better get it running first mind you.
-
Needs must, it did smell a bit  . Just back from the garage, mani on, downpipe on and connected up. Trial fitted the turbo and its all good. Just like I said earlier it taken me about a 1/10th time to put things back together again. Made on offer on some JE Schimmel pistons (http://www.spturboparts.com/Engine-Comp ... 01~JEC259/) and the guys accepted  . That'll be two months on beans on toast now or I'll just sell my motocrosser to help pay for them!!!! :cuckoo:

Well I fortunately (or unfortunately which ever way you look at it) dont have a missus at the moment to explain to. Bloody works well this stuff. Can quite easily handle the wrapped parts even though the bare metal is still foookin hot. Was quite easy to do as well, just plonked it in a bucket of water first.
-
Got the downpipe back today so just waiting on the oil return flange. Should get everything back on place at the weekend if I get it. Patched some holes in the wrap on the manifold and wrapped the downpipe with some new stuff. 50m of it!!! Sprayed them both with some silicon sealant spray and currnetly baking in the oven to cure

Ok thats fine. I think 500bhp+ is pushing it a fair bit on 2wd. A little over 400+ safely would be a nice figure to aim for.
