Whos the company?

Always liked Ronal LS 71/2 x15" or ATS Type 6 16". The ATS are the 6 spoke that look like Borbet C.

Standard looking Tornado Red with Sebrings but they will make way for the splitties!! Will get some pics up on Saturday when I get it. It even had a CCGB sticker in the rear window.

I said I wasnt going to waste anymore money on cars so what did I do. I went and bought an Hreg 16v Corrado tonight. :D 118kmiles, brand new VW head (worth £1200) new clutch, 12 months MOT, full Jetex system and bodywork good but a few nicks and small rust patches. Doesnt have a stereo either but there was a binder full of reciepts with it. It seemed very genuine and all the proper stickers etc were in place so no bad damage. All for the pricely sum of £1500. All I have to do is get the Golf sold now.

Its ok I have found something saying it was H** URR. Mods can lock this if they like. OR doen anybody know the one I am on about?
-
I tried that. Reg is H149DFV that I am going to look at. The guy mentioned that it was a CCGB owner that had it. Was there ever a major probelm with it? Ive tried PM but he aint responding.

Do any of you guys know Karmanns reg plate that was on his red 16v? I am going to look at a car and it sounds / looks like his old one. It has an english plate as well and I remember him going down south to get it.

Sorry guys I just noticed that was the wrong link. Try this one. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/forum_post ... 095&KW=bbs Anybody have any suggestion on the best threadlock to use? -
I had a shot of my mates Mk2 16v with 135K miles and it didnt feel any faster than my 8v. Only choosing the 16v raddo as they are cheapest to buy/run.
-
Are the 16v's that much faster than a Mk2 8v? I bought the Mk2 as a cheap daily driver but I am hankering after another Corrado. If the body has no rust at all and the engine seems good then I will probably buy it. Only thing that is putting me off is the fact I would have to buy the Raddo then sell the Mk2 plus I drive 200-250 miles a week. On past expierience selling is easier said then done. Is it hard to rebuild a 16v head?
-
No its not the one in Abz but tell me more? Price etc. Where is it advertised?
-
I may be looking at a Raddo 1.8 16v which has done around 130K miles. A guy has offered me a 16v motor and gearbox that has doen about 90k miles so I may buy the car and keep the engine incase the other goes pop!! What are the sort of things that will need to have been replaced with a 16v engine @ 130K miles? Should the timing chain be replaced, what about valve stem seals, head rebuild etc. Please post up your experiences both good and bad.

See this link. I posted the link to a guide. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/forum_post ... 704&KW=bbs -
The late Mk3 and Mk4 calipers have there handbrake maechanism contained internally and dont pick up the crap from the road which is where the Mk2 & Corrado calipers get a lot of thier probelms from. Jack the car up and try spinning the wheel with the handbrake on and off. You could also spin it and get somebody to apply the brakes and spin the wheel again. Just take the caliper off and try to move the piston. You have to wind the piston in and out, not simply push as on the front. Try this to free it off, grease then replace the seal.

Ditto.

F*ck me. Bite his hand off. You will not find one like that again. Ask him what he wants for it. Not to sure but maybe £6-7K?

I went from Raddo G60 to Mk3 VR to Mk2 8v. My brother bought the G60 of me and I had a shot of it about 6 months later and it felt so much quicker. I think my Mk2 is easier to drive in the corners but the Raddo is defientley better with the proper set up. The in gear acceleration is so much better than the 8v. I got 140mph indicated on my G60 where as the 8v struggles over 115mph. This was from a car that had not had a charger rebuild and was on 94k miles. Cable change gearbox is crap mind.
-
When I had G60 it cost me close to £700!! Fucking sill was rotten, brake pipes, rear shock, discs, pads etc etc. My brother bought it from me and had exactly the same problem with the sill. Cost him a packet to get through as well. :x Therefore avoid J221 LGA white G60 at all costs in the Aberdeen area.
-
That happened twice when I had my G60 but it was just down to fucked rear dampers, wet road and shit driver.
-
Are the superleggera's not discontinued as well?
-
What about Jetex? I have one and its not loud at all.
-
I saw that at Knockhill not long after it was done. It used to be bright orange!! Looked almost square. Absolutely mingin!!!!!! Only decent bits the engine.

Try clubgti.com and vwvortex.com as many guys have done this on these forums. As mentioned PhatVR6 knows all the ins and outs of this conversion. Try designadubs as well. They seem to be pretty handy with the oily bits. The owner(?) of that place goes by 800gallons. There is also a decent one on ebay right now.
