Thats what I thought but he said there was 2 different codes. There fecikng £11+vat each but I need them this weekend!

I am trying to order new bumpstops for my car through the dealer and they need the engine code of my 1990 16v. I dont have the car at work so what is it?
-
But they are about £15 a piece. Are they really worth it? If I remember right the rear suspenion effectively runs on the bumpstops does it not? Are the front ones as important as I have found a place where I can get front and back for about £40 but I really dont want to spend that much as I have a few things coming up which I will need the money for.

as you can see below my rear bumstops are fecked. Are the ones from GSF etc ok as I am going to fit eibach springs to the konis? If not then where would I get some?

Usual car accesories shop. I have had 2 types: 1. 3 pin type - Ok but you cannot put much torque through them as the pins bend. They are a complete nightmare to get of if the keys buggers up. Dont ever let anyone put them on with an air gun. 2. Splined type - These seem a lot better and able to withstand more torque. Dont know who make them for sure but its McGuard or something similar.

Emm.. no. I stand corrected. I even have then manual as well.

Very nice indeed but its such a shame to only limit it to such a low mileage. Forget value and get out there and enjoy the thing more.

185/55/15 is the correct size but 99% of people use 195/50/15 as they are pretty much the same, plentiful and cheaper

UPDATE: Well I looked at the Koni's and by feck they are expensive. I realise you get what you pay for but I cannot afford anything like that for shock so I have ordered 2x Gmax dampers. I did a search and found a company called Larkspeed (bit max poo looking) but I have the 2 delivered to my door for £79. Not to bad I thought.

Reeeeeeeesult!!!! I just checked the Eibach website and cross referenced the part number 8513001 VA and 8513002HA for the springs I have and guess what, they are the correct ones for the Raddo. I do remember fitting them to the Golf and thinking they were a bit stiff. Do they sit level when fitted? Interestingly they reckon the Raddo is 30kg lighter on the rear end than the Golf 16v. Axle weights are: Corrado - 950kg/710kg Golf 16v -840kg/740kg

Didnt really look that close at the shocks. I am going to bin the springs anyway as I hate standard ride height on cars. If the car is lower at the back its only by 10-15mm. I have a set of old Eibach Golf 16v springs that i tried on my 8v Golf which ended up really low at the back and only just slightly lower at the front. Will these fit my Raddo? Tthe suspension seems almost identical to the Golf.

When I was swapping over my wheels in the pissing rain yesterday I noticed that I have koni (yellow) dampers on the back with progressive springs with standard on the front. However the car does not seem lower at all at the back. What springs do you get with Koni kits if there is such a thing? I will probably get front ones to match now but where is the cheapest place to get them?

I did this to my airbox tonight and drilled approx eight 10mm holes. I had done this to my Golf 8v and it sounded quite nice but it doesnt really sound that good with the Raddo. Its not to loud either. Should I drill more holes or just remove the snorkel alltogether?

nice

I noticed that my rain gutter thingyies are buggered. Wil this let water into places I dont want it too? Does anybody have a part number for these assuming you can replace them?
-
lookin good! what exhaust you running?
-
Where did you get your stuff from?

Me, News Years Day 2003, Les Deux Alps!!!!

Right I am going to change the plates on my 16v as the previous owner decided to put these really gay ones on with "VW Corrado 16v" on them. I want the completely plain ones and to attach them without using the screws. Whats best and where do you get it. Velcro strips?

I have a reciept that says it is a Powerflow one. Its nice and quite but I am not too sure about the square tailpipe. I was going to put the Sebrings on the Golf. There is a binder full of history and it used to be owned by a CCGB member, Neil Yeoman. I have the original inspection report etc with the info. Have to sort out the suspension though as my Golf handles better at the moment. One thing I forgot about is the crappy gear change. I hate the cable change box after the Mk2's rod change.
-
Yeah but I have gone Mk2 to Corrado to Corrado to Mk3 to Mk2 to Corrado!

Got it this morning. 118k miles, FSH, s/s system, new cylinder head etc , clutch .... Bodywork is ok but there are a few rust spots that need tidying up. Splitties going on tomorrow plus a few wee touches. Still driving it like my 8v though. All for £1500.
-
Cool. Ordering bits for the car already.

Are the side repeaters on a 90 16v the same fitment as Mk2 golfs?
