Whats the best paint to use on wheels? I am painting the centres so I presume I will need primer, paint and lacquer. Whats the best lacquer to use for a good finish.
-
Here is my inspiration. Anybody know a nice metallic grey as on these wheels.
-
This is more what I aiming for. Nor sure whether to paint the centre caps grey as well now.
-
Thats more like it!! What do you think of the wheels with the grey centres?
-
Thanks!! Wheels look a little small. How do you do this in Photoshop?
-
Here you go.
-
Could you please do me a favour and try some work on this baby. (sorry bigrim) First of all tha car has to be red and secondly could you make the wheel centres a dark grey (not the caps or rims). I would appreciate any help as I have not a clue about using Photoshop.

According to GSF the Golf 16v front pagid pads are the same for the Raddo 16v.
-
Thats my plan but with grey centres.

I may be getting new wheels and plan to get 7.5"x15" with ET25. Will there be any clearance issues with my Car? Its lowered ~35mm. Also where is the best place to get Ronals?

First car was a Mk2 1.3 in 96, year later I bought an 8v GTI, 2 years later a Polo 16v which I traded for a Corrado 8v. It was the amount of people that didnt know what it was plus my dad, gran, mum... that said they really liked it that convinced me it was a wee bit special. 8v was slow as feck so I bought a 91 G60 which was traded for a Mk3 VR a year later. It made way for my 91 8v Golf which has been brilliant but I was still hankering after another Corrado. Two weeks ago I saw my 90 16v for sale so I just went and bought it.

Halfords etc has this stuff. Thinking of doing the same but would look silly on my car. Half tint though!!!
-
They are a dense foam.

I got OE ones today and have fitted the springs but I think ther car is sitting on the bumpstops. Time to hack more of as I only took 3/4in of.
-
Put the splits on and painted the front badge black. I have fitted new shock and Eibach springs to the front but I want it lower. Probably going to put some lowering caps on the front and the Eibach springs on the back. What do you think of the ride height.
-
Yeah but it will still look high for a suposedly lowered car even after they settle.
-
How much of a gap was there between the arch and wheel front and back when you fitted them? on the front I have a 2nd hand set that that I have just fitted and there is still a big enough gap for 2 1/2 fingers. I also fitted new shocks which could be the reason. I have Koni's on the back with unknown springs and I was going to fit the Eibach back springs but the back will be lower than the front. Have most people had to use the lowering caps? I have a set of these on the Golf but that would mean dismantling the suspension on that.
-
That takes the fun out of it!
-
Yeah I have done my Golf suspension before its just the bolts that were different. Pics coming when done.

Well I managed to get it of using the socket/molegrip idea. Wish I had read this earlier as I was trying every combination possible. One down three to go so hopefully I should be a little closer to the ground by the end of tomorrow. :D :D
-
Ok, looks like I am going to have to go spanner hunting tomorroe, cheers guys..
-
How do you get the front shock nuts of the car? For my Mk2 I use a spark plug socket and allen key but the nuts are too big on the Corrado. Are they 22mm nuts?
-
Well just to p*ss you have I have both. My bike cost about 4 times what the cars cost but I dont care. You can pick the early corrados that have had the clutch/head etc done pretty cheap so I would say you can still have both. I find that a having a bike makes you a better driver and calms you down as you are more aware of road conditions and potential dangers. Good weekend coming up so my car will not move an inch. Bike all the way
