 That's got to be p-chopped, I haven't been able to get over 30.1mpg in mine!

I got a G60 because I love charged cars whether it be super or turbo. They also seem to be rarer than the VR6 (bar the storm, obv.) and 16V and they make sexier, more individual sounds :)

CorradoRun aka Ben - my splitter was posted when he said it would be, took me 15mins to undo all the wrapping it was packaged so well and was in the condition as described - well pleased :)

Thats quite a collection! Ive only got one 1:43 model and thats of a metallic black G60 made by 'Schabak' :)

I have to say, since having my first near-fatal accident in 2003, I dont really feel safe in anything that isnt VW (any age) or anything that isnt new unless I'm driving. In '03 whilst driving my old mk3 Golf, I hit a motorway sign pole at about 55mph and after rolling 3x down a slight embankment, I also managed to hit the electrical box for the sign. I walked away from the car with a bruised calf, knuckle and shoulder and a slightly dented shin. The reason for the story: I really do believe if I wasnt wearing my seatbelt or was in any other make of car of that year I wouldve died (check out the pics if you don't believe me!)... Can I also say, my driving skills have improved ALOT since then - well over 100,000miles under my belt in 5years and not so much as an accidental dent since the accident above ;) *edit - few pics of the Golf: Hours before: http://members.lycos.co.uk/ladyimpulse/hpbimg/My%20car/CL/L15%20DUB.jpg After: http://members.lycos.co.uk/ladyimpulse/hpbimg/My%20car/CL/accident2.jpg http://members.lycos.co.uk/ladyimpulse/hpbimg/My%20car/CL/accident4.jpg As for the Corrado, I feel safe in it because it *feels* strong and sturdy to drive, it sticks to the road and the body doesnt lurch around corners. I know my limits, I pretty much know the Corrado's limits (weee, oversteer in the wet :D) therefore Id like to think Im safe on the road in it at all times.

Now the days are getting colder, the G doesn't particularly like it too much and has a bit of a grumble when fired up first thing in the morning (it's normally grumpy on idle anyway due to the cam) though has never not started. I can't leave the engine running for too long on the driveway as the OAP neighbours will think the German planes are flying over head so have to pretty much reverse on to the road as soon as I've fired it up. A combination of my awful morning driving, an annoying clutch bite and a VERY lumpy idle means I stalled it whilst reversing this morning and could only get it started again by pumping the throttle lots whilst turning the ignition. I've had a look through the search and couldn't find exactly the same problem. Is it; a) a dodgy fuel pump b) the ignition switch c) something completely different d) nothing or e) just a case of learning to drive properly so I don't notice problems like this? Ta, Lis :) (ps. anyone that picks "e" will get a whack)

Apparantly the new ones are even more dog-slow and the optimum power is around 7.5k revs!!!

If you got rid of your C what modern car would you have?

I'd probably go for something Jap like a 350z, Scooby STi or Evo IV. I don't like the look of new VWs much and SEATs depreciated far too quickly. -
If you want to feel like you're driving a van, buy an 01-06 Civic... it's NOT about the gearstick on the dash.

Top Gear... back Sunday night with 'that' Golf!

I thought the Golf W12 was stunning, taking in to account the lack of being able to corner of course - I was drooling over it at Inters this year! 5'4" average height for a woman? ... I guess I'm a giant among women at 5'9" then :( Weds, 7pm, BBC2 :) -
I think the "rake" effect can look quite cool on a Corrado, very hotrod-esque, the rest I agree with though.

Nicked fom the no-rice forum, taken from the cliosport forums... I have respect for most normal PCs as the majority of them are sound, but if the story is exactly like he's written it then I'm not surprised the driver was getting the arse with the copper. I'd do the same if I knew I was right and came in to contact with an arrogant arse like that!

I'm not sure I like it :?

I was in the fast line on the A1 in the work's car going up to Sawtry and a car came up behind me with a bar of lights across the roof of the car and one headlight out, the other stupidly bright. He tailgated for a few seconds then flashed a few times to get me to move. I was going the same speed as the car in front leaving safe distance to brake and there were cars going much slower in the other lane so I thought *Like f**k am I moving just because you're in a hurry, AND you're only driving with one headlight in the pitch black!!* After a few more flashes I gave him the birdie and he stopped. A coach pulled out 1 car in front of me to overtake a lorry so we slowed down to 60-65ish, the car behind me was then edging in to the middle of the road straddling the middle line, swerving in and out of the lane. The coach pulled in to the slow lane, the car in front of me overtook the coach and pulled over and I did the same. It was only when the car drove past that I realised it was a traffic cop and he sped off when the road was clear - if he had his blues on, I would've moved straight away! I'm not surprised the Police don't ask people to move over if they all drive like complete tw*ts in vehicles that aren't roadworthy!

Christ, that's ugly!

He was taking part in a 24hour Le Mans style race in a BMW 330 DTi Sport and was shunted off the track. The car was damaged but thankfully he didn't suffer any injuries! Full story here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6988623.stm

Cheers Tom, I've just been working my way around tidying her up a bit. After 2 weeks of owning her, the new suspension was already on order  The badgless grille/eyebrow is no more seeing as it flew off at 60mph and hit a Rover behind me ... another has been ordered but I think I'll spray this one body colour :) I forgot to mention it in an update but I also got the exhaust pipework changed as it had pinhole blows round a couple of the joins. I also had the centre box taken out as the muffles were all burnt out anyway - you know how loud it was before... you can barely have a conversation at 80mph now 8) -
Welcome! That's a tidy Corrado you have and it's also good to see more female Corrado owners on here :)

Want a Corrado with PINK wheels? Thought not...
LisaK replied to diamondblack's topic in General Car Chat
Mine are similar to these: but are Team Dynamics in black, not Wolfrace :) I've seen those pink things on a pink Shitroen Saxo in Southend - wrong, wrong, wrong! -

My first corrado, just about purchased, need opinions please

Sweet looking Corrado :) Don't go for white on the Azevs. Red cars with dark wheels look lush - anthracite or black would look awesome!
