  1. I had a small fault in the central locking system grow suddenly a lot worse in the last month. It's operation became more and more erratic, but it would still work OK about half of the time. I've now reached a point whereby the system does not work at all when trying to unlock the car; and works about 1 time in 5 when trying to lock it. Like I said, the deterioration has been progressive and has taken about 4 weeks... Whilst Vince advised it's easier to wait until the system breaks altogether for a quick diagnosis of the problem, I feel I'm so close to that stage now I may as well do something about it. Does the description of the symptions I'm having narrow the field of potential culprits down at all?
  2. Very, very sweet! Are you still quite happy with your decision to move on from the corrado?

Oh that's just cruel. But quite funny ;)
  4. http://www.vwsalvage.co.uk/ I've used these guys a couple of times, competitive and good service.
  5. Agree. If it drives as VW intended and the quality of the repair to the body can be vouched for, it should be no biggie. Plenty of things need repairing on a 10-15 year old car, accident or no.
  6. Alfas are OK with me ;) It's their GTV replacement, and VW have nothing similar due in the near future it seems. Oh, apart from a 4*4 Golf called the Beduin. Woo-f**king-hoo...
  7. Story in Autocar seems to indicate it's heading more in the direction of luxury cruiser-coupe. Nothing much in common withn our cars at all. Personally, I think this is more like it :) http://www.allsportauto.com/english/mod ... _idMD=1197

    Ballys 16v

Very sweet car Bally 8) Hope u satisfied with the FK rears, shame those red lights didn't flash orange though, they look especially fine!
  9. Anthony, 205/45/16s work well, and give almost exactly the same rolling radius as the original wheels.
  10. TY Jim... I've found the ride has actually improved going from 15 to 16"... probably the tyres I guess.
  11. Boj, they are Speedline Comp2s... :) Bought them from S-link Design, they were about £600 as I recall, fitted them awhile back but only got round to taking pics today. They were 4 stud only for a long time, but S-link had a handful of 5-stud sets made and shipped over from Italy...
  12. Well, inspired by Jim's G60 outfitted the VR6 with the new 16" rims... well happy :) Schrick, Milltek, BMC all added since the first post.
  13. It might be interesting to argue the toss about the £250 young driver excess - Ask them if that would still have applied if the car was stolen - if they say no, they are on very dodgy ground.
  14. http://www.firstcallmotorbreakdown.co.uk/ OK, for £40 per year for 24hr homestart, recovery, onward travel etc etc I didn't expect the best service... ...but only had to wait a half-hour today with a flat battery for a breakdown contractor to sort me out. Genuine bargain? Could just be...
  15. Great to drive, and they can make you proud, especilly when gleaming clean. Except that in Black, with no garage, and a shed load of trees in the vicinity, washing it about twice a week is the only way I can manage that. The person who ordered my car must have been a real masochist because he ordered an all black interior as well...
  16. Benji, who did your rear lights and are they taking orders? :)
  17. It's not dangerous, you could even choose not to have it fixed theoretically and just remove the warning light. There are still many non-ABS cars on the road, it just looks like your Corrado has become one of them. The fault code refers to the abs pump I believe. If a specialist can confirm this is the case you would do well to source a replacement pump from a scrapyard. You don't want to know how much they cost new!
  18. It wouldn't be a Corrado without a stinging bill. Anyway a trip to stealth is wasted without spending a load of hard-earned. Come to love the pain ;)
  19. Yeah, mines just arrived. Thanks Zarman :)
  20. Chris Knott quoted me £1024 to renew, agreed value. Thats not too much of an increase on last year. Yet Adrian flux just quoted me £706, also agreed value! Quite happy with that!
  21. 1) Anyone who works on a 'Safety Camera Partnership.' 2) Having all the traffic filter over to avoid a lane closed due to roadworks, and then have some t**t que-jump everyone on the now-vacant lane, before coming to a halt at the traffic cones and trying to force his way back into the flow. 3) Anyone who lets the said driver back into the correct lane. I'm quite courteous, but there's a time for courtesy and a time for The Finger.
  22. Yeah, maintaining a Corrado not expensive enough for you? :D
  23. Damn Dinkus :( Treat yourself to few stiff drinks this weekend and try to look forward to the racing!
