Don't know any north of the border I'm afraid. Marshalls in Bury are very good though. They repaired the damage to my company car after a bus hit it and they did an excellent job.

:lol: Out of that lot I used 1 spanner to disconnect the battery, 1 socket to remove the battery clamp and 1 screw driver to take the lights off. The funny thing is it looks really drastic but to remove the grille and the two headlights is about 10 mins work at the most! :lol:

Saw that at Goodwood last year. :D Think I may also have a video of it doing the hill climb somewhere too.

Yeah, I noticed the light seems a lot more white now. As opposed to the pitiful yellow glow I had before!

First dibs on the wheels if you break it! :lol: No seriously, I've always wanted a set of those. The way I look at it, and don't think for a minute I am as qualified to comment on this as corozin is, i spent something like £1700 buying my car. I've probably spent the best part of a grand on it since May. The work I had done at G-Werks alone came to just shy of £600. Now, the way I justify it to myself is would I pay £2700 for my car as it is now? With an awesome supercharger I know is spot on, a headlight loom, a brand new water pump, a cam belt that has only done about 300 miles and brand new brake lines, discs, pads and wheel bearings. The answer to that question is yes. :D Every f*cking time. But I am very lucky in that I work in a garage.... Otherwise I'd have spent a lot more than a grand on it by now! Obviously I can see corozin's viewpoint as he has spent a hell of a lot more than I have!!! And we'll have to see what happens in April when it's MOT time for me. :pale:

They are superb. Fitting was also a good opportunity to give all the light components a good scrub as well.

I decided to route mine thus: The main reason to do it this way was to minimise wiring in the bay. What I will do before I go on any long trips is snip off those cable ties and wrap some tape around the cable to further insulate it and then reattach. Probably unnecessary as the cables to the horns have survived almost 18 years in there. Plus all I need to do to check on everything is take the grille off. In my rummaging I have also found some bare wires! :shock: They've either chaffed or melted on the rad. Looks like they have been like that for a long time but I can't leave them like that. I'll just worry.

Sorry to hear this mate. A lot of corrado owners dread mot time. Guess it just brings you back down to earth. Although they drive great they are getting older and older. If it was me I'd fix it. It may cost more than the car is worth but will work out cheaper than buying a new car.

Great minds think alike! :D Just went out to test my new lights in the dark and what a difference. Comparable to the lights on my 08 plate company car now. Brilliant. No more driving around with my face pressed up against the windscreen squinting to see anything! Was going to get some new bulbs but can't see any need to.

You guys are soooo cliquey! :wink: :lol: You're just picking on me because I'm the new boy. :lol: I think I'm gonna keep the steelies as winter wheels and get some wicked alloys ready for the summer. :D Getting the steelies painted is a good idea. May look into that. As for the paintwork itself that may have to wait for summer 2010 when I can justify the expense and just keep on top of polishing it a la deviant. Right onto what I spent my morning doing today. There were some requests for pictures in the headlight loom thread so thought I would oblige. Just to show you how non-scary the process is and why you should order one now before Zak gets bored of making them. Here's the loom out of the jiffy bag: As you can see a very professional job! :D Way more tools than are actually necessary: I decided to remove the battery completely and stick on charge in the corner of the garage (car has sat for a week and a half): Next job is get the headlights out. If you get stuck as to where the third screw is for the headlight it's down this hole! By this point I needed to get in the warm and allow the feeling to return to my fingers: This is a familiar sight for many of you. Bits of Corrado laid out on a garage floor: Connectors on the offside headlamp. Not sure what all the fuss about OEM connectors was all about :tongue: : And nearside: Headlights back in place: Battery back in (be sure to tighten the clamp bolt to it's specified torque :dorky: ) and all that's left to do is get hold of some velcro sticky fixer doohickeys to fix the fuses and relays to the battery: I can already see in daylight that the loom has made a vast improvement! :clap: So there you go. Well worth the £56. Anyone in the Suffolk area that would like a hand fitting one give me a shout. But it really is very easy, especially with Zak's instructions.

Wise words. :D But I'm sure in amongst all the millions of monies I've spent on this car I can find some spare for a set of nice alloys. Whatever happens I'll keep running the steelies at least until all the salt has gone from the roads. I think the steelies would make good winter wheels actually. Nobody is sticking up for them so I think it's time for a change.

Like a plasterers radio.... It's not that bad in real life, just when you start looking closely you can make it out... It's bugging me though. I just want it to look like how it drives now. Which is awesome! :D

hmmmm, not sure how big but bigger than the steelies. I think the reason I'm off them a bit is the tractor tyres look a bit naff. So a set that will require slightly lower profile shoes. And yes, I think I've made up mind that I want something spokaliciously spokey. That picture was taken just after a good polish but trust me, the bonnet is really bad. It goes matt and then when it rains and dries you get all sorts of crazy sh!t going on! Like white patches and streaks.... Yeah, the mount is next on my list. When I was down at G-Werks darren said he supplies a good engine mount. Will get in touch with him. Probably should have got one whilst I was there.

Ok, you've all seen this before but here's a pic of my car as it looks at the moment: The thing is now that I have got pretty close to getting a lot of the mechanical problems with the car sorted after all the work it had done towards the end of last year, I find myself thinking that it looks pretty tired. Once I fit the headlight loom tomorrow the only major things left to sort are the suspension and the front engine mount. When I first got the car I loved the look of the steelies but now I think I'd like to see some nice alloys on there. Just think the car could do with a new look. Nothing drastic of course. But I'm not sure if it's just that I am running out of things to do on it. Also quite a few people have just got new wheels and they look smart so that may be influencing me. It needs some paint though. Looks a lot better in pics than it is in real life!

I'm going to have to get over to Australia at some point. My girlfriend's uncle was a ten pound pom (or whatever they called them) and he still lives there now. :D Last year when he visited he brought me an Australian car magazine. You've got some awesome stuff over there. I haven't got it to hand but it had adverts for these Ford things that kind of looked like Focus saloons but they were real mean looking. I'll have to find the mag and get the name of them.

Wasn't yours then. Thinking about it I think the car at ed38 was black with an orange spoiler. Also had Wolfsburg Edition badges on it.
