With prices the way they are at the moment VWs are falling into the wrong hands. I've seen loads of cars that I would like to buy just to save them from their current owner but this one I just found breaks my heart. I'd gladly pay over the odds for this Golf just so I never have to see another video of goons doing this to it....

That would be the only thing putting me off a mk3 ABF. The weight of the thing. But if it's only gonna be a track car I can always strip it out.... :D

It would be nice if I could get a VR as a base for a track car but it's just gonna be too expensive. The prices that early 1.8 valvers are going for at the moment make those a much better prospect. Seriously tempted to buy a non runner or something as cheap as possible and garage it, save up some cash over spring and do it up over the summer. At the same time though would not be wise diverting too much of my funds away from the G60. It's a whole world better than it was after going to G-Werks but still loads to do on it. Plus I'm already worrying about MOT time next year.... I'll think about and find a way to strike a balance.

It'll need some new suspension first!!!! :shock: :lol: I might do. But I might be a bit too attached to it now. Not wanting to sound sentimental or anything.... I think I'd rather pick up an anonymous car that is only ever going to be a track car to me. The more I think about it the more I want to do it though.

Yeah mate, we've got to make this happen. Let me know next time you're going to a track day and I'll make sure I'm there. :D A Rado would be pretty awesome. I'd love to track a mk3 ABF too though. But given the choice I'd go Rado every time of course. Mind you whatever car it is it would be soooo much fun! Just think how cool it would be pick up some old valver and kit it out and then race it. :clap:

I always put bp ultimate in my G60. Swear by it. Not sure if it's all in my head but after trying loads of different fuels in my old G60 I found it ran smoothest on ultimate. Be interesting to hear what others say.

Now that you say that I remember seeing a load of Australian adverts like that before. They tend to have pretty hard hitting campaigns when it comes to drink driving and speeding.
