Just an update - passat part fitted and it works a treat! Rattle is solved and the C is a nicer place to be once again! Thanks a lot dude!

Cheers Jim, that's some great info - much appreciated! It's a Goodyear belt, as I say I got it from G-Werkz so I'm sure it's quality albeit not VW. I didn't realise VW would do the shorter belts actually otherwise I would have picked one up on one of my many trips to the stealership! I'll have a look into that Rocol stuff, as well. As for the squealing, it happens at a particular point of boost, is all I can describe - not present at idle or beyond a certain rev point - basicall you can put your toe to the position it does it, then back off and on it and make it start and stop! It's not really loud, but it is irritating. Actually my C has a variety of interesting noises going on - still haven't solved the "beep" at high boost thing either! Luckily it's going into my trusted mechanic in a couple of weeks for a full service and MOT, I was just a bit unnerved about this new, different-sounding charger because I don't fully trust the garage that swapped the belt today (they're next to my place of work so I use them for little bits and pieces when necessary) and I was wondering if they could have done anything wrong. Although the more I drive the car, the more I think this is how it's *supposed* to sound and it was just quiet before... It certainly sounds good, don't get me wrong - nothing like that otherworldy G60 howl! Thanks again fellas.

Got both the chip and the pulley - all that seems to be fine (bought it that way). I got used to the level of noise it used to have, but it's definitely noisier now it has the new belt on? Oh and annoyingly, the squeal is still there! :|

Hi all, I could well be fretting over nothing (I do that a lot) but I'm running a 68mm pulley which was on the car when I got it. When the car was serviced last year my trusted mechanic replaced the supercharger belt and I thought nothing of it, all was well. Then recently I've been hearing a squealing noise at certain throttle positions, so after reading some stuff on here I figured it must be because it was a standard belt (didn't think to tell my mechanic at the time that it had a smaller pulley and hence would need a shorter belt, so I'm assuming he fitted the standard item). Anyway, I got the correct length belt from G-Werkz (thanks guys) and had it fitted today, and the first thing I notice is that the engine's a lot noisier - sounds like more supercharger whine/howl. Is this to be expected, or is it just belt noise because it's new? It also feels a little bit sluggish but this could be my imagination (I did have two guys in the car with me today which I don't usually). Would appreciate any input! Ta!

Car's in for a full service in a couple of weeks, so I'll add that to the list of jobs for my mechanic to do!

Bit of an update: It turns out the original part is now obsolete as of 8th April! So I've ordered the passat part instead. Cheers dude!

Supposedly came out of a black G60!

Yeah it's identical! Really odd.

I'll hold you to that! But get this - I've just been out on my lunch break and had a closer look at this seat, and its not faded, it's actually a different bloody colour! Same blue/green tartan but the main seat colour is a bit lighter, like a dark grey, and the back of the seat is light grey leather! Never seen anything like it before to be honest, but the upshot is, it's no bloody use to me! :(
-
I thought about spraying it, but it's the blue/green tartan so I can't see that working too well. I'll have a look at fabric retexturers - never heard of those before!

Hi guys, I've finally managed to get hold of a replacement drivers seat for my G60, really chuffed, good price and it arrived today. It's in good nick structurally and there's very little wear, but it's pretty badly faded, the whole seat is a good few shades lighter than the rest of my interior! :( I think this is a long shot but does anyone know of any products/techniques to restore the cloth back to something closer to it's original colour?

I should say I have pretty bad RSI in both wrists from typing/playing guitar/drumming so whatever I do with my hands results in pain. Not that I'm one to complain, you understand!

I've got noisekiller under my G60's bonnet. Doesn't make it silent by any means but definitely muffles it. And it looks cool.

OUCH ! show us your Rad ohkalistik shotz!

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I personally don't like the sound of my sump/wishbones hitting speedbumps! Which is why my coilies are going UP half an inch next month! -
I bought one of those machine polishers from Halfrauds and I've only used it once because it vibrates so much it's almost painful.
-
I can't offer any help but I can sympathise - when I bought my G60 it was p*ssing oil out of both pressure sensors AND the rocker cover gasket!

I've got a red momo corse that I might be getting rid of shortly, I'm just trying to find a minty condition original leather wheel - I get loads of sarky comments about my red steering wheel
-
It's been bothering me. The supercharger seems like such a cool idea (no lag etc), yet there are very few supercharged cars about - a few TVRs?? Is a turbo really that much better? I'm sure there are probably sound economy/financial reasons - does anyone know them?
-
How much of the rear brakes are actually used during normal driving tho? I was always under the impression it was the front brakes doing most of the work?
-
Holy crap! Do they just make these prices up?? Biggrim - you have PM :)
-
Cheers dude, it's reminded me that it needs another good waxing this weekend! Yeah the wheels had been refurbed by the previous owner not too long ago I think, got a couple of scuffs on if you look up close but I really like them!
-
Cheers dude, but I really want to get it as period-correct as possible if you know what I mean! I'm assuming you can no longer buy the leather wheels from VW? And if you could they'd cost an arm and a leg!
-
Thanks dude, that's great. I'll try and find one of those three-spoke jobbies in leather (and hopefully decent nick).

Is this it?

Hi guys, I'm thinking of changing my current steering wheel (red Momo Corse) for an OE one, because it's annoying and the horn doesn't work (I'm pretty sure this is an MOT fail?). Can any of you post up a pic of an original Corrado steering wheel for a J-plate G60? It's got the early spec interior (black/green tartan) but late spec bonnet, registered Nov 1991 if that makes any difference. Cheers!
