Cheers fellas - but it does it when I'm going in a straight line, so there's no cornering forces involved!

Here's an odd one, you clever chaps: G60 runs a treat, no worries, but I've noticed when I give it some beans, there's a sudden high-pitched "beeeeeeeep" comes from the engine bay. My first thought was oil buzzer but there's loads of oil in it and the light doesn't come on. It's not related to RPM as I can rev it up nice and high if I'm steady, so it's almost as if it's boost related. Basically when the boost gets up to about 10PSI the beeeeeeep comes on. It's not that loud but you can definitely hear it. Basically, what is it, should I worry and how can I stop it??? Cheers!

It's a new bolt, better made with the same code! Basically someone must have told them the old bolt was crap so they sorted it!
-
Is that *sunshine* in your pic? I only ask because I've forgotten what it looks like. Second set, by a whisker.
-
Just to update UK C owners - you can order the new PG bolt from your dealers now - it's exactly the same bolt but apparently made better (according to Darren they've gone back to using this bolt again and don't use the DX bolt anymore). Costs about £2.50. :)

What a collection of butterfaces! I'd be like "GET OFF MY CAR, WOMAN". -
Anyone got the dimensions of the *front* G60 badge? Just got what I thought was a front badge off ebay, looks like it might be a rear one. Looks like it's too small for the front because it doesn't fit in the "clips" in the FK grille.

Can you afford to run a corrado, 1.11 per litre?
Alexander replied to anndy's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah Ultimate is 109.8 in York. VPower is "only" 106.2 though, what a flipping bargain. I'll last it out. My C's a daily driver but I car-share to work so in reality I only use it every other day. The thing that's most annoying about the G60 is the piddly little fuel tank!! I always seem to be at the pump, albeit spending £30 at a time, rather than the £50 a time with the Golf! -
Yeah my dad tutted and rolled his eyes at the lack of airbags. TBH, although I can tell the C is made from good quality steel, I wouldn't want to crash it (well, I wouldn't want to crash any car but you know what I mean)... as for feeling safe, the fact I'm so low down makes me very aware I'd come off badly against an SUV. That said, we don't need excuses to drive safely do we? I just assume everyone else on the road is an idiot and avoid them as much as possible! :D

Good luck SonicRiot! Things we do to pay the bills eh! We should have another thread "what do you do to pay for your 'Rado???" :D

Very very sexy!

I live in York, never heard of this firm - how much is it costing you if you don't mind me asking?
-
Very few! White Mk2 Polo squareback (G) Blue Mk4 Polo (N) Metallic Black Mk2 Golf GTI 16v (J) Tornado Red Corrado G60 (J)
-
My dad just rolls his eyes and says "So, no airbags then?". He's convinced it's a boyracer death trap. My mum hasn't seen it yet but she'll no doubt say "very nice dear!" if she likes the colour!
-
Yeah, thought of that - gf's polo has a couple of broken lines and the others still work. Is there a relay related to the rear screen? Might be worth swapping that out if so...

Thinking of de-wipering the rear of your Corrado?
Alexander replied to Alexander's topic in General Car Chat
Don't be mean! I was right in the end, it was Rain-X defogger that I'd got, so I was actually using it correctly. It's crap, by the way. -

Alexander replied to Alexander's topic in General Car Chat
Aye I've not put them on yet to be fair, but I thought if I had them I could offer em up and see if I preferred them on! I guess what looks good is a personal thing isn't it, at the end of the day! -

Alexander replied to Alexander's topic in General Car Chat
Ah ha! In my defence, just checked and I've bought Rain-X defogger/demister which I take it is for the inside of the glass. I take it there's another Rain-X product for the outside that I need to get hold of? I wonder if the wiper motor goes in easier if the spoiler is in the "up" position? Hmmm might go back out into the rain and have a go... -
Thinking of de-wipering the rear of your Corrado?

Yeah OK so I feel pretty bloody foolish now... I was going to delete the thread and skulk off but instead I'm going to leave it as a reminder to myself to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS... Thank you guys, hope this little bit of comedy has brightened your sundays! -
Thinking of de-wipering the rear of your Corrado?
Alexander replied to Alexander's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah I'm trying that at the moment, not really having much success - am I right in thinking you just use it on the inside of the glass to prevent fogging? It's just gone really smeary but maybe it just needs more elbow grease! Nah - don't get me wrong I'm well happy with the car, but the guy I bought it off only used it in the summer, so I guess he wouldn't have really needed the wiper as much as me (it's my daily driver). The only other mod I had to er... modify was the ride height, but that's because I have huge speed bumps and the previous owner didn't! I like it being modified, but it also has to be practical so it's a bit of a compromise. I was originally going to get a standard car, but this one came up at the right price and it's obviously been well looked after. I'm sure it's not a big job if you don't have rain falling in your eyes and you're a bit more confident with a spanner than I am! Basically the metal bar that pushes the spoiler up is in the way and the gap isn't big enough to get the wiper motor into it's original position. -
Do the next owner of your car a favour and don't bother. VW put them on for a reason, namely so you could reverse in the winter *and* see who/what you were backing into. You'll also save the next owner half an hour in the P*ssing rain taking his boot to bits, only to discover the replacement motor won't go in without dismantling the whole spoiler mechanism, which he is in no way brave enough to do - rain or otherwise. :(
-
Thought I'd bump this thread rather than start a new one as I have the same problem! Dewipered bootlid, and the rear window defogger doesn't work! Which makes reversing at this time of year a bit treacherous. The light comes on in the switch, and I've checked the fuse and it's fine. Any ideas?
-
Yeah whenever I see a really nice car like a TVR I always wonder what the guy/woman driving it does for a living to be able to afford to buy and run it!! I don't earn a bad wage, although I'm by no means loaded, and I'm *always* skint!

Cheers fellas. Could someone give me the rough dimensions of the rear "G60" badge? Might bid on one on ebay if the dimensions are 2.5inch by 1inch approx?
-
Ah yeah, actually that never occurred to me! There's a body shop down the road so I'll go and pester them. If anyone's got a good clear picture of the rear of their G60 that would be marvellous!
