I removed mine just by pulling it off, although I think it'd already been off once.

You would definitely do best to go through the specialist insurers (like the ones advertised on here) as mainstream insurers will bend you over.

93.9 for Sainsbury's super unleaded today :) Usually steer clear of supermarket petrol but at that price, I'm tempted to fill up some jerry cans and store them in my zombie-proof bunker.

My plastic bit on the car body was broken (I actually got it off a useful chap here on the forums) but I just superglued it on.

I have exactly the same problem, I find adjusting the latch plate in the boot slightly so it sits deeper into the boot helps - you have to give the boot hatch more of a slam to get it to shut, but once it's shut it's quieter!

Personally I don't like Mk4s, but with that engine and 4wd I could be persuaded! Nice buy!

Yes I've spoken to HIC, but if the agreed value isn't honoured it's a waste of time/money, Brentacre's policy is better all-round (lower excess, etc) and it's really only the agreed value aspect they lack, that would make me go to another company.
-
One thing Brentacre said to me, which I thought was great, was that while they don't tend to offer agreed valuation policies, they do actively pursue the stated value of the car through the insurance company the policy is with - eg, providing ebay/forum/autotrader links to similarly modded cars to show the actual street value rather than just the parkers etc. Again, I have no idea who to believe, Brentacre, or Flux who offered me an agreed valuation policy, albeit for about £50 more than the Brentacre quote. Would be interested to hear some more experiences of people who've had to actually claim on an agreed value policy?

Interesting, I was speaking to Gary at Brentacre today and he told me they very rarely do agreed valuations - pretty much only for concourse/magazine cover cars. He said that the whole "agreed value" thing is often not worth the paper it's written on (I am paraphrasing), which I thought was interesting. Has anyone with an "agreed value" on their policy ever had their car written off and got the full agreed value back (less excess)?

I got mine, bit dismayed to find it's not a pint glass, but a nice item nonetheless, and for free you can't complain!

Am I right in thinking late-spec G60s came with a three-slat front grille? If so, what colour was the VW emblem? I'm getting a bit bored with my FK badgeless 3-slat and thinking about going OEM on it's ass. Final question - anyone selling one? :)

I noticed a definite improvement with Black Diamond discs and pads.
-
To be honest, that is totally awesome.

I just ordered online, so I'm not sure - would be worth giving them a bell I think? I reckon I might splash out on some new fogs, simply because if I leave it too long there won't be any of them left either! :(

You sir, are a legend!!! That company DID have a L/H side one, which arrived this morning, so I'm all sorted. Massive thanks! :D
-
Yep, that's what I've got - they look the tits!
-
I'd def lose the eyebrow - go old skool /OEM+ on the wheels (BBS or something) - make it a performance machine rather than something that looks good but you can't drive without worrying about the cops or handling!
-
Well, after sending back the late-spec indicator to ECP, I quizzed Hella who said they had no L/H but 2 R/H ones (obviously I need L/H) and told me to speak to my local Hella dealer to confirm they had the right part no. Went to Andrew Page's and it turns out the woman at Hella, who was very helpful but didn't have a car gave me the wrong part no. Page's rang Hella and came back with a big no. No more L/H ones at Hella either. Bother. I'll settle for a decent nick second hand one, that isn't full of mould!

I didn't have any membranes either - just take the door card off, and silicone/tape a thick rubble bag over the door, making sure it's good and sealed all the way round. Put the door card back on and bob's your mother's brother!

I'd love to clean my engine bay like that but I'm far too scared I'd fubar it! I stick to a damp cloth and some elbow grease..
-
I'm the same as you - I loved my mk2 16v, would love to have another at some point, but they're well pricey now - seems like to get a good, non-boy-racered example you're looking at 2k+.

Something about him just rubs me up the wrong way - could be his voice, he just sounds so smug all the time! And he never really seems to have any respect for the cars he drives, if that makes sense. I can't watch the guy!
-
If he trolleyed it I'd be more concerned about the valver, tbh.

You won't hear a bad word about G-Werks on here. They rebuilt my charger a couple of weeks ago and did a fantastic job - great guys.

Tiff is such a cock.
