  1. **** no, a turbo on one of those things and you'll be dead in a week..! The usual steps: rust killer stuff liberally applied followed by waxoil everywhere. There's nothing much better out there (after all metal has been rusting for a long time, this is not a new issue!). A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  2. Yeah it's the same feed the radio uses to do speed sensitive volume levels. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  3. Same here.. but it always pays to ask the stupid questions! A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  4. I assume your Speedo works... A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  5. The Peugeots were pretty good frankly, they rarely rusted, at least not until well into old age, or if they had been abused. 205 GTis were awesome cars, just utterly exhilarating to drive, much more brutal than our "grown up" VWs. I know the feeling of guilt you have towards a classic car that you feel you have let down with simple neglect, but honestly it's just a car and you do your best and you have to move on. If it has good underpinnings it will be worthy to be restored again in future. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  6. How goes the Oneplus 5? A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  7. Heh, young drivers can't afford to insure or run these cars! A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  8. No kidding, you take your life into your hands every time you step into an airbag-free 140 mph capable nineties sports car... A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  9. He has a very well sponsored garage.. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  10. Lol A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  11. Interesting choice... I would have thought a two-yearly simpler check-up made more sense, but no MOT at all doesn't seem sensible to me. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  12. And eBay..! A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  13. It might make a small difference in mpg, but that's about it. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  14. It will adapt anyway, it just takes a little more time to fully adapt. You'll find it runs really smooth after a battery disconnect, but that's it basically running a bit rich. It'll lean down to a more efficient point as it adapts. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  15. Yes, it's fully featured and has the convenience factor of a Bluetooth connection to a phone app. But then you can get generic vag-com compatible cables off eBay for less than a tenner too and use the freebie version of vag-com, but that will only decode the first error and you'd need a laptop in the car. 16. If you get stuck, OBD11 works just fine on the VR6 with late diags socket. https://obdeleven.com/en/ And I just noticed they do a 2x2 adapter for earlier cars. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  17. £90 something a side, iirc. The bid of 200 or so is only a little ott, but I expect it to get worse before they sell. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  18. Quicker, and cheaper... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222636443083 A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  19. They were standard fit for Corrado Storm and Golf VR6 models and some MK3 GTi models. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  20. Dammit some well heeled Corrado collectors around... A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  21. The abs unit can and does fail from time to time. There was a link on a thread some time back with information about a firm that can refurbish them, or grab a used one off eBay. But also do a hard power cycle to wipe the errors, bleed it fully (um, carefully, having pumped the ****e out of the pedal first) and bring it back up with a good battery so it can properly prime first. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  22. It does radically alter the handling losing the passive rear wheel steering. It will make it more predictable and stiffer but ultimately less agile. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  23. Increasing the rolling radius fills out the arch a bit more, but then you get fouling issues and the speedo is wrong.. (and the car goes slower). 16s on their own don't change the arch-fill quotient. Lowering it does though. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  24. Have to agree with comment #3 - speedlines are perfect. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  25. 15-20yrs old is optimistic.. nothing younger than 22 yrs around now, and some as old as 35 yrs ish. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
