News to me too! Didn't know the DBPs were rare, best keep hold of mine then :D

is that steering wheel straight out of a fiesta finesse?

Corrado modern classic, custom cars had their day?
Fanjita replied to OSV's topic in General Car Chat
Your bet is spot on! Myself and a few friends thankfully rescued a 2.0 16v from the hands of a known neon lover :gag: . It took us a while but the neons were successfully removed and binned  -
Tell you what Graeme, let me know what you put BPN up for, I miss that old girl
-
Just another option there, a similar car which in my opinion is very nice is the S2. Similar 5 cyl turbo quattro arrangement in a newer car, worth a few bob now too.
-
There's 3 of us in Bournemouth who all bought Corrados after seeing the others and loving it  We never get spotted though

I'm with you on that, it just seems too coincidental, plus from the video i recall the mention of a bird causing the driver to swerve? I might be mistaken but there is no sign of said bird, and there are no obvious sudden swerves from the veyron, it just drifts into the lagoon. Strange indeed.

anyone seen the actual vid yet? http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b75_1258211165 if you can put up with the commentary

Hearing the English guy saying 'coop' instead of coupé was a bit weird too! Interesting design though

Not sure if you were referring to myself and Fran, but it would have to be in November for us to attend. -

I'm one of the three who finishes studies on the 30th November, so I can't make this either  -
Very true, and in an effort to convince myself that leather isn't important, I'm always saying how leather would be heavier (and sticky in summer!) anyway  Sorry to hear about the tailgate, I suspect mine will need doing soon as there is a small rust bubble in exactly the same spot, looks like its common! There is a scrapped blue one down here with a perfectly good tailgate on so if the worst comes to the worst ill take that

Sean that is one sexy car! I love those wheels, a lot like the ones I sold to Graeme on BPN! Graeme the old girl's looking great, I've been reminiscing about my ownership lately as i get a bit of stick down here for being the only one without leather! Did you sell the leather recaros? You mention tailgate replacement, was that small rust bubble a bit bigger now then?

Thanks Graeme, It was just a thought as my Santas are in need of some attention due to lacquer peel and corrosion. I'll probably take a look at them myself soon, as it's only the front surface so I should be able to sort it with some sandpaper and a rattle can of lacquer. Hi jok, I wouldn't let anyone take them in the current state they're in, the lacquer peel is quite bad on the front face of a few of them. According to the previous owner, they're 'Silversport Coilovers' although I have found nothing on them through google. As far as I can tell, due to knowing the drop on another Corrado (40mm) and mine being slightly lower, we think its a 50mm drop. I'm not very sure of this though, so if anyone thinks it isn't I'd like to know! The ride is very firm, but it needs to be with the wheels at that sort of height in the arches, and more give in the springs and it'd be rubbing left right and centre. I still have the original arch liners in and arches aren't rolled, the suspension does a good job of keeping them from rubbing  .

Corrados in Bournemouth area.... WHO ARE YOU?!
Fanjita replied to frandaman's topic in General Car Chat
Sounds like a plan! :D Anyone else up for it? Years ago we used to get together at the Smuggler's Arms in Ferndown as it has a big car park. A Corrado meet between now & Christmas would be good. Since it's been a while since the South Coast mob met I'll set up a thread on Events tomorrow for it. Haha what are the odds of that, myself and fran were down the Smuggler's Arms Sat nite! Plenty of room in that car park, sounds like a plan. -

We could have our own Corrado meet if there's enough of us, just make something up out of the blue? -

I have to admit I've given the Tidy VAG meets a wide berth for about 18 months. Sounds too much like a trip to a gynacologists to me. I went to a lot of the early meets but then stopped going because most of the people in the centre of it all spawned kids and for a while they were all bloody baby-talk rather than car talk. In other words it was as boring as hell... ZzzZzzZzz... But given the comments on here I might be persuaded to give it a go as maybe things are better there now. If nothing else the coffee in McDonalds is cheap, LOL. Yeah give it a go mate! Next one's the 8th of November, lets make it a Corrado meet  -
I'd like to...but funds are a little tight at the moment :( Taking donations?

I had a little play with Photoshop, managed to try some new wheels out, and debadge it. What do you think? I want these wheels!!

I've got a Dark Pearl Burgundy VR and I'm right next to the Uni, travel to the airport daily! -
Just thought I'd leave an update for anyone that's interested. Got hold of a 50mm splitter in the end, only just recently though so it's still to go on. Some t**t has nicely put a dent in the passenger door which I will be getting fixed soon hopefully. Got hold of a new steering wheel, it's a Momo Millennium Evo (320mm) and it's great :) Going to be refurbing the wheels soon too as they're suffering lacquer peel quite bad now. That's it for now, I'll get some new pics soon.
