  1. New avatar material? 8) I'll just need someone to lift the car up and hold it at a 60 degree angle... Yes, can get a pic, but will need to get a mirror angled under there so that jacks and stands won't be required :salute: A daylight job methinks. Tadaa! 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf_DSC9063 crop.jpg[/attachment:byd65giv] And here's how it was done: _DSC9063.jpg[/attachment:byd65giv] Next?
  2. Or lots of bits needed to press the hub back in: Tool VW412 VW472_1.jpg[/attachment:z8x6mrlq]
  3. What kind of puller do you mean? Is it similar to the one used to remove a wheel bearing race? Is it this one? 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfTool VW3194 erwin.jpg[/attachment:2enng1o3] Tool VW3194.jpg[/attachment:2enng1o3] You could ask Dave at Kidlington for a price - he ordered my clutch disk centralisator for me  Edit: looks like you need VW295a also...
  4. Edit:[strike:3v3dfxbf]It's a front hub he needs to re-thread, not a stub axle.[/strike:3v3dfxbf] Interesting to hear that the stub is an M20 fine thread... [strike:3v3dfxbf]Would expect the fronts to use the same.[/strike:3v3dfxbf] Edit: Oops, think I recall that the front hubs have a stub too - my bad :salute:
  5. Push your finger hard onto the inside of the tap until you get ridges, then see if those ridges line up with the hub nut threads... Or tap a carrot and see if the nut fits without additional mashage. :salute: (Fully expecting some kind of saucy interlude here... )
  6. guilty as charged yeronna  :cuckoo: :bonk:
  7. That's how it happens. Have you notice the BBC iplayer goes up to 11?  Our consoles do it too!
  8. Er, dude. You've got like six stars and stuff.... Yeah, I noticed that as well, isn't the normal scale out of 5 and if you financially contribute you get a sixth too? I guess 6 is 'one brighter' than everyone else... (Spinal Tap, anyone?) No problemo :salute: I wouldn't sweat it though - I had my DX bolt rattling around in the boot for about 9 months before I finally remembered and fitted it, plus the old one seems fine  However, it's a good feeling once it's done :D
  9. Oh, they're gonna bust you down now bro! 1p a year?! :nono: Better than nothing though I guess  :offtopic:
  10. Yeah, like at least an extra star under my avatar :norty:

  12. Nice thing about the 8V engines is that they are reported to have more low end grunt, so you can get away with babying the throttle to get around the place in no particular hurry, and so get great economy. I've never had a 16V though so can't comment on the different feel  Went for a leisurely spin yesterday through country roads to clear my head at lunchtime, and hit 40mpg at one point  Can easily get 35+mpg on my 10 mile commute, but traffic lights and slow traffic absolutely murder those decent numbers in my G60. Have found it's better to switch my engine off at lights that take ages to change rather than sit idling and see the MFA figures decline depressingly...
  13. Beats being called a bell end, I guess  OK then, legend. :salute: :thumb right:
  14. Heyo!  I'm sure I've missed my path in life - I should've been a Haynes manual photographer
  15. Tadaa! _DSC8576.jpg[/attachment:1yr8wnr2] *Quietly disturbed by the pervs' thread hijack* :cuckoo:  Yes, the thread title is open to a certain amount of "interpretation", just to lure the usual comedians out of the woodwork

  17. ... which are messing around with Corrados and photography  Even to the point of trawling the Forum to find people that need photos of car bits to help them fix something :norty:  So... anyone need a picture of a crank bolt? caliper? throttle body?
  18. Yep, find the 3 pin connector at the back of the throttle body, under the scuttle tray: _DSC9054.jpg[/attachment:3i7drc7o] Unplug it and put a voltmeter (set for continuity test) across the bottom and middle pins on the throttle body connector (corresponds to red/blue and brown/white coloured wires on the loom) you should have closed circuit beepage when the Idle switch is being pressed, and open circuit when it is on part/full throttle. Likewise put the voltmeter across the top and middle pins (black/blue and brown/white coloured wires) and you should have closed circuit beepage when the WOT switch is being pressed, and open circuit when it is on Idle/part throttle. Does that help? :salute:
  19. Need a lift to the shops? Give me a call tomorrow... Second thoughts, will be crazy busy tomorrow, but can give you a lift back from the shops, as that may be more helpful!
  20. Cool :D What did you use? Superglue? Gaffa tape? Bubblegum? Glad you're geared up again :salute:
  21. Read the thread on the 'tex so far - looks mindblowingly cool 8) :notworthy: And she says that 'the sound of a V8 makes her go all wobbly'!  :norty: :luvlove:
  22. Speechless... and dribbling
  23. Cleaned my headlining today with 1001 upholstery spray  Will get around to refitting it one of these days...
