  1. Got that from a local independent motor factor, was a couple of quid I think, and rated for 30A blade fuses.
  2. Two of these would give you enough waterproofed fuseholders inside the bay, no? _DSC8591.jpg[/attachment:34eh84xk]
  3. Love those det cans  How obvious is it to hear the difference? Glad you got the startup and idle sorted. How many switched 12V lines do you have in the bay, and are you taking them off the coil feed?
  4. It's done 175k with no signs of refurb, so reckon it's time to check the bottom end. Compression is just fine, and doesn't use much oil at all, so think that piston rings are OK... Will probs check everything is OK and replace seals/bearings etc. as necessary. I'm not complaining that I get to take everything apart   Rebuild ftw.
  5. Cheers Phil  I've just washed and shammied (sp?!) the car and it looks better than ever :luvlove: I checked and adjusted the corner heights yesterday, I think I have 595mm front and 585mm rear now, just enough space to get first and middle finger between tyre and arch  8) Doesn't appear to bumpsteer any more than before, but the handling is great, and the steering is much lighter now it's had a proper alignment :salute: Then I waxoyl'd them good and proper, so that should keep them in good nick for a while. On the cosmetic front, other than a full body and bumpers glass-out respray (££££), I'd love to get some 16" BBS LM replicas and some spacers to really fill out the arches  With the amount I've spent since I bought her last July, I might have to wait for Santa though  Next up on the performance stakes is a quick engine check (bottom end bearings etc.), and maybe a gearbox upgrade to the VR 1st, 2nd, and FD... Making 32mpg on average, and loving the ride, so it's all good right now :D
  6. Just finished adjusting my new coilovers after a week of bed-in time, and waxoyled them liberally :) Shouldn't have any problems with adjusting them again in future, although I'm running barely 2 fingers gap between front arches and tyres, and a bit less at the back, so don't see much need to 8)
  7. You missed one though  racing-grannies-1.jpg[/attachment:7gtsnzze] Like your style bro, modesty ftw.
  8. IF I had too much time on my hands I might actually draw up an expected 'league table' of cars around the C, collated from other posts... But I don't. And it would be a bit puerile. Not that that's stopped me before :cuckoo:
  9. Well not quite anything - I know when to let it slide
  10. Like I said before, I can have a blast in the G and still get over 30mpg, I'm lucky to get over 22mpg from the Honda - stupid heavy slush-boxed aircon wagon! :bad-words: It is comfy and good for haulage though... :camp:
  11. No, the other, 'practical' car is a CR-V... Not quite a Type R
  12. Way to burst my bubble dude!  Oh, well, will have to find another yardstick car that I can be happy to equal
  13. You luuuuurve that song :luvlove: :cuckoo:
  14. That's leather seats, folks, I don't do fetish driving :| *cue Toad*
  15. Ditto! (I like that acronym, might get it on a t-shirt, but then people would ask what it meant, and I'd have to say "I can't be @rsed to tell you..." D'oh! :brickwall:
  16. Spot the spanner stopping the crank from moving while we undid the pulley! :cuckoo: :ignore:  Probs should have removed the pulleys beforehand
  17. Good point too. So what kind of power to weight ratio would you expect to find in modern saloons? I reckon my G has a PWR of 188PS/1,100kg = 171PS/ton (metric)
  18. Didn't realise there was that much weight difference! Lightweight FTW then :salute: That would make my torque around 180 lb-ft, much more realistic! Ah, GCSE Physics coming back to me now... F=ma and all that  :dorky:
  19. :D no. That's what I figured :D Must've taken him by surprise, or maybe he wasn't sure which pedal was the accelerator...
  20. (16VT, but you didn't hear it from me  )
  21. On the way to work this morning, came off a roundabout onto dual carriageway in the outside lane, with an '06 plate BMW 320d in the inside lane, roughly neck and neck. The Beemer driver obviously didn't want to be overtaken by a poxy 16 year old car, so accelerated forwards to undertake me and pull out around slower traffic ahead in his lane... What's a self-respecting G60 driver to do? I floored it too, and we were absolutely neck and neck (well, I was level with his door) for about 250 yards before Mr Beem realised that he was running out of road and slowed, to pull in behind me... Of course, I got the usual 'loser flyby' when I pulled into the inside lane further on  Then I thought I'd look up the spec on a 320d, and it has 250lb-ft of torque! I can only assume that his limited revs forced him to make a gear change whereas I sat in glorious 3rd all the way - I can't be running that kind of torque... can I?
  22. :D :) 8) :norty:  :dorky: :salute:   :luvlove: :notworthy:
