  1. This is it! :D Jay do you know off the top of your head what the thread is on the LBJ? I couldn't make it out from that IGES file. We'd need to move it back 5deg for 30mm, but 10deg for 60mm and obviously increments inbetween if people were running 40/50mm. What do we think? Develop a BJE that corrects for a 30mm drop? I'm starting to think it wouldn't be too hard (too much of a design change) to do a few of them. Perhaps take a poll of who uses what ride height as someone people like slightly low with bigger wheels and some people like scraping sills on standard 15s.
  2. Fair enough :D tbh, I don't think you will have THAT many problems with a mk2 golf compared to a Corrado. I mean the golfs were built by german robots who don't even stop for tea breaks as opposed to random germanians who drop tools the second someone smells schnitzel. The only major probs you would have would be the corrado specific bits(!) which is the engine (unless it's from a mk3 Golf - also built by tea-hating robots). What level of trim is it anyways? has it got a lot of electric stuff, windows/mirrors/sunroof? I say go for it :D
  3. I've been messing around with the LBJ stuff (again), based on a horizontal distance of 355mm, and a vertical distance of 30mm (giving wishbone angle of 4.83degrees above horizontal), I've mocked up a very basic wishbone and attached it to the LBJ making sure the distance between the axis of the LBJ and the inboard pivot end of the wishbone is 355mm. I then rotated the whole lot around the inboard end of the wishbone bolt axis by 4.83deg and this is what I get (attached img 1 and 2). If anyone else can spot some glancing errors in my maths / modelling, please let me know! :salute: AFAIK this is correct. Obviously in real life the 'pin' of the LBJ would tend to stay vertical as it can rotate in its joint, but obviously only up to a point. A drop of 60mm will double this offset, so wishbone angle will be 9.66deg and the LBJ will move further inward again.
  4. Yes, RIP. You were driven for 7 months out of 45(!) but your legacy will live on, and a NEW Plum will arrive! Although I'm not giving any kind of timeline here(!). I hope other people get good use out of all the parts I have restored and collected over the years. There's probs way more that I've yet to dig out in the stores which will go up for sale in the next few weeks! Also if you quote promotion code "HAM123" you get a free cup of tea when collecting any parts :D
  5. Well they're still on the car (and spare in boot!) but it's the Corrado in my sig. You might be able to find some pics of them in my build thread. I can probs get some pics tonight if that's ok?
  6. Bilstein PSS9 coilovers if you're feeling flush! :D ---------- Post added at 10:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:05 AM ---------- Maurice's car was a 20vt wasn't it? I remember it had some fruity top mounts! :D
  7. I'll help whoever else wants one
  8. I think the prices are quite reasonable (Subframe: stripdown, clean, prep and paint plus all parts included; Axle: Prep and paint plus labour for bushes and all parts included). What were you thinking? ---------- Post added at 09:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 AM ---------- @Dox, ok fella I'll get some pics for you :salute:
  9. Are we still talking about just the glass? I'll get some pics of them asap. Is it not possible to get replacement mirror glass for a Corrado? that's kind of worrying! :?
  10. Whole set of 5 (i believe) in Oxford. Looking for 100 for all of them. I've deffo got at least 4 centre caps too although some of the clips are damaged. You'll need tyres for them, hence the price. If interested please post in my Cars for Beaking thread - here -
  11. Genuine front grille badge - black good site, used them recently. :salute:
  12. Neither of them are scratched or broken matey. Are you just after the glass(!) or the mirrors as a whole?

    subframes

Rich, type "corrado golf subframe" into the search and you'll be amazed! Summary: Corrado subframe identical BUT has 2 extra main parts. Little tabs behind the ARB mounts which attach further back on the chassis rails under the car, and that big metal block which I think is for vibration/harmonic/resonance damping. It's an NVH thing. Mk2 Rear Axle - Will work, but not as strong as the Corrado (aka Passat) item. This is because the C axle has reinforcement plates over each of the 'corners' so to speak. If you do some research and find some pics of each you'll understand what I mean. hth. p.s. I have a refurbed one fully loaded with wishbones, ARB, LBJs and a rear engine mount all febi parts for sale at the moment. See the plum bits thread.
  14. Yeah sure matey, no probs at all. Do you know when you're likely to get down this way? I can prob get the doors off on Saturday (I assume you don't want the wing mirrors in which case I'll remove them) and just store them until you can make it down.
  15. Ok fella, are you able to collect? Those are some pretty big items. Also the wings aren't perfect (reflected in the price i think) - there is some rot where they attach along the bottom edge and i think the arch is a bit bubbly too. let me know if you still want them.
  16. £15 posted I'd think and IIRC they're all there! But i'll have a check for you and let you know.
  17. you can have the one out of my 91 16v if you like. I'd have to go over to my bro's house to get pics / take it off. Let me know :-)
  18. Yeah, I have (I was thinking of your christmas list...!). It's been sprayed black though. Here's a pic from my thread:
  19. @Toledo, I think so - I'll check condition for you. The inside has become a bit of a storage shed (I doubt anyone will want the seats!) @Suuupercharged, The handbrake cables are febi mate, IIRC from AVS, but you're welcome to them if you still want them. If you want the calipers too that's fine! They've still got the gold galvanic coating stuff on them with little red plastic plugs in the hose holes (hope Toads not reading this). Would you like to collect or shall I calculate postage? Yeah I'll send some pics of the other bits, cheers! I can't even read part numbers now. It'll most likely be brake bits, the stone guard shields for the front, tiny little o-rings for the PAS lines, you know all the annoying little bits you can't get anywhere else.
  20. Hi fella, the shocks are boge turbo / advantage which are OEM but i don't think they were genuine. I think they cost £200 for all 4 dampers. The struts have been built up with VAG hardware (all the fiddly little washers etc etc) which was another £xxx, and then I used some febi bump stops and top mounts along with some standard 16v springs which I had going spare. Yeah the price includes everything, although I recommend new top mount nuts when putting on new suspension. The build up can be found here: Project Plum - page 55
  21. Yeah, I think I've given up on buying cheap runners aka rolling projects for now! I just need something I can jump in and drive without having to worry about it too much. I doubt it will get modded much - my wife is from SA and has only had a UK licence for about a year now so putting her on a policy as a named driver is the same as having a leaner on there. £££. I think it doubled the premium on the golf from £350 to £800.
  22. I'm afraid not matey. Ideally it needs a new OSF chassis rail cos of the rot under the battery along with some panels on the floor too so it's structural. I've posted up the bits for sale thread now. I'm not goina to rush back into one, esp as I want another DBP!
  23. "535837206H door handle, outer, black / F 50-N-015 171 >>>" deffo a corrado part.
